This has been our vet since our dog was 9 weeks old-he is 5 years old now. They are temporarily closed, and I hope that they get to open their doors again. We love Dr. Travis Rollason.

After many years of being with Best Friends they closed their doors. They have pushed all their records and clients to a nearby vet in Poway. Reading past posts it seems to be strangely true as this new regime figures way to make a profit by sending numerous emails and text messages for vaccination and other routine services. Then when you do get in they do one service per the messages, charge an office fee and next month repeat the process another office visit charge and for another service. All this could have been done on the first visit. It's a shame that us pet owners have to be so vigilant.

If you are going to Best friend in Poway. Don't see Dr. Travis Rollason there. Unprofessional. We lost our cat because of his mistake.

The marketing is insane. I opt out of texts and now getting calls, endless spam emails! I had to block. I agree the focus is more on money. I took my baby here when no one else was open and felt the charges were exorbitant and my dog came home abnormally traumatized compared to my normal care at regular vet. Go somewhere else where the focus is the animal and not the profit engine.

Not the same as when Dr. Bob ran the place. The other updated reviews tell the story. Now I continue to get text messages recommending "services" that aren't needed :)

We have been using this vet since our dog was a puppy, four years. They genuinely cared about the well being of our dog and were also reasonable with costs. They never used to try to oversell services and would work to get you an appointment if your dog was sick. Unfortunately, since it has changed ownership, this is no longer the case. On a recent visit for routine vaccinations and nail clipping, they didn't clip his nails and they tried sell us on a teeth cleaning for an excessive amount of money. This week when our dog was sick, the receptionist showed little concern and said they were booked a week out and we should take him to their sister emergency hospital if we wanted an earlier appointment. We will be finding a new vet who cares about the animals they serve.

We have been coming to this vet for years, but something has changed. It should be separated for Yelp users because it is simply not the place that used to constantly get 5 star reviews. I used to get honest feedback from the vets here and the last few times we have been in, we spend over $900. We have since switched vets and I am so sad because I really used to love everything this place stood for.

I can't say enough about this place! Dr. Rollason is SO thorough and explains everything with great knowledge and detail. I love that he gives me every option of how to treat and never pressures me into a procedure that isn't necessary. Ashlee is equally amazing! I have a very nervous dog that presents as aggressive and Ashlee is so patient with him. She isn't afraid of him and takes her time and because of that, he loves her. This vet has wonderful hours open late and 6 days a week! Whenever I call, they can get me in quickly. There are many vets closer to me, but I drive over 30 minutes to get to them because they are so amazing. Thank you Dr. Rollason, Ashlee and staff!

I was referred to Best Friends by my neighbor. I'm so glad we came here. Dr. Rollason is the best. He's compassionate, caring, takes time to explain everything in lamens terms. He consistently gives us options and doesn't recommend unnecessary procedures. The staff has always been friendly and caring. Lifelong vet :)

I don't know what's typical around here, but I went there for a cat's ear infection and was charged $500. I suspect there are more affordable vets in the area. I will keep looking.

Used to be a great place to take our pets. Under new ownership and it free reeeeeally shows, in the worst possible ways. The actual veterinarian is still great, but the majority of you and your pet's interactions are with the rest of the system in place here. Not worth it.Really disappointed to have to look elsewhere for care, because I used to feel good coming here.
