Avoid at all costs. Our car was hit by another car late last year, and our insurance recommended Autobody Excellence. The car has had problems ever since. They cracked our windshield when reinstalling it. They did a messy paint job. The suspension is messed up. They ordered incorrect parts for our side mirror and instead of ordering the correct parts, they just broke pieces off and glued it to the mirror. Our passenger door came back very obviously hollow inside (the one problem they fixed). Thankfully a different shop is now going back and fixing these issues.

My expierence with Jeff Borja, lacks communication and people skills, no follow up, no follow through.A company is only as good as its people. No matter how big or small a job.Auto Body Excellence has broken their trust with me and won't be getting my business afterall.Good ridance!

I have had work done there twice and referred someone as well. Jeff has been honest, fair and goes above and beyond to make sure things get done right. Jeff and the team at Auto Body Excellence have my back when my car takes a whack. Yes, I'm a real client that has had a great experience.

Brought my new car in after an unfortunate accident (not my fault ;) & they did such an amazing job! Looks like new! Plus they text me with updates every few days. Great people, great service. I hope I never have to go back.. but a great place to know. :D

I had a wonderful experience with auto body excellence. My car was vandalized while parked by my work overnight and I was devastated since it’s brand new. This shop was recommended by my insurance USAA, and it was conveniently right down the road from my house way out in Ramona. Jeff helped me out, and he was so validating with the damage to my car and assured me right away that they would make it look brand new. They contacted Enterprise and had someone there waiting to pick me up when I dropped off my car. They said it would take about 6-10 days and it really only took about 6 which was super quick. Even when I had an issue with the plug to the control module getting left out, I brought it right back and they popped it back into place right away. I know people have bad experiences, my husbands car was just stuck at another shop in Santee for almost a month, so it was such a relief to take my car to a shop that knew what they were doing in terms of vehicle repair and customer service. Thank you for keeping your promise and restoring my car to its original glory!

I had a pretty bad accident in the rainstorms of January 2023 , I was recommended by USAA & a couple friends to go here. I have a car with some special considerations and although some shops turn away cars with “aftermarket” parts, AB Ex was open arms. They were incredibly busy during the aftermath of rainstorms but they didn’t complain. I’ll be honest, I was initially upset by the amount of time it took for them to complete my car. But when I voiced my concerns they were quick to rectify. Jeff was incredibly attentive, he knew how much I love my car. At times, steps in the process were slowed, there were some unforeseen circumstances & parts difficult to find… a couple potholes for sure - but in the end, my car came out the exact same way she was before the accident. They went out of their way to make things right. I appreciate them so much for putting up with me & my strict car needs. All of the staff there are personable & make you feel heard. After my car accident, the liable party's insurance company referred me to TAG Collision for repairs. When I picked up my car, I immediately started having mechanical issues I had not experienced before the car went into the shop. When I contacted TAG Collision to explain this, they disregarded my concerns. That's when I when online and filled out the customer survey. At that time, I was a dissatisfied and very upset customer. The very next morning, I received a phone call from John Baratta with Auto Body Excellence in Poway. John said he had read my review and was very concerned and wanted to rectify any problems I was still having. He did not like hearing that I felt TAG does not care about its customers. This phone call began a long line of AMAZING customer service follow up that 4 weeks later left me completely happy and satisfied with the repairs that were completed on my car.John took care of my concerns from start to finish in a timely manner and without hesitation. He made sure to follow up immediately on all steps that would be taken to repair my car correctly after it was found the accident caused mechanical damage that was not initially noticed. John connected with a certified mechanic where my car was diagnosed and repaired. John handled all details with no hesitation and was completely fair, honest and looked after me (the customer) 100%. I have never been so satisfied when dealing with such unpleasant issues such as car accidents/repairs. John single-handedly turned a bad experience into an extremely positive one. He definitely went above and beyond to create a happy, satisfied customer for life!

Never have I ever experienced such horrendous service. They had my car in their shop for over three months. They FINALLY returned it and it STILL has damages! Absolutely zero communication from their end and I had to constantly call for updates because I was clearly just forgotten about. Given back a car with multiple things still broken. Absolutely horrid. Do not bring your vehicle here.

Amazing auto body work and went above and beyond to make it so we had OEM replacements to our Transit after an accident. Works with insurance professionally and is very responsive. Van looks like it was never damaged. Again fantastic work!

We were involved in an accident which caused significant damage to the front end. Unfortunately, it was a hybrid and had numerous issues. Luckily, we had Jeff as our go-to guy and he was beyond helpful and always exceeded our expectations and was always receptive and professional. He pushed for the vehicle to be claimed as a total loss for safety reasons. We were very appreciative for his excellent care and commitment to his customers.

I recently had my car fixed with this body shop. They were recommended by Gieco since I was in an accident (front side damage) and needed my car fixed. October 23rd, I bring my car to get fixed. December 01, my car was “complete”. They were paid $4200 for their poor job and took them over a month to get it done. Just the tip of the iceberg. Three weeks later (December 23rd) my car stop running, and my mother-in-law was stuck on the highway. It was towed back to this company, and they stated there was a transmission issue and that the issue had nothing to do with the work they did. The accident was in the front of the car, where the transmission was located. And they “claimed” that the accident that happened the transmission was fine, yet they did not do ANY diagnostic testing to confirm that the transmission was fine when the car first came in. The diagnostic testing came after they were paid $4200 dollars for some poor repair work from them. Not only did they claim that it was no fault of their own they tried to make me pay for the tow to get my car back! Like, I don’t have insurance! They tried to bully me via email and told me I can’t get my car until I pay $410 CASH. Really???, you don’t take credit and you just want cash? Very fishy business with poor work ethic and terrible communication skills. Last email the guy from the company sends me is “sorry, gieco will be paying for the tow.” Yea I know buddy, like I told you before! This place has VERY poor service and they will not investigate your car fully before just fixing “what they can see” and send you on your way with a broken car. I blame Gieco too for recommending this company. I mean they are supposed to be the experts in this type of stuff, and they send me to these deceitful people? They will probably respond to this review saying, “oh this was a separate issue”… Don’t believe them. They did a poor job with investigating my car initially and they just fixed what they could see was damaged. Any response to my review from this company is loaded with lies. DO NOT GET YOUR CAR FIXED HERE.Service: Body & Trim
