Equipment is in good condition, and they'll go out of their way to make something right if it fails during use (I've rented Bobcats, Excavators, Trailers, Jumping Jacks, etc....things break). 5 Stars for the continued effort for keeping the homeowner's arsenal of tools ready to go at a moment's notice.”
“Pretty great people at this place! They called me when I was 15 mins late to pick up my van rental (I was renting for a full week!) and wanted to know if I was still coming to pick up the van — very thoughtful! The only downside is that Uhaul charges .99¢ per mile so that can add up quickly!”
“The gentleman who helped me with the truck rental was extremely kind. I accidentally undefined the gas and he informed me I can go down the street to top it off, rather than pay a premium in gas fees. He didn't charge me for being an extra few mins late due to this. The vehicle was reliable and did the job. Cheaper than I thought :-).”

“Glad I picked this U-haul location for my first ever u-haul experience. They had the vehicle I reserved ahead of time, and was friendly, patient, and easy to deal with. The 10' truck was surprisingly easy to drive too, although do note that the trucks don't come with tie-down equipment in the cargo hold, so you'll need to secure your items yourself.”

“8/2023-Mostly a positive experience with checkout except their truck photos didn't show a big paint chips on the hood which I disputed before checking out. Checking in was mostly positive except the cashier was unknowledgeable about how charges would be badge if different from the original estimate.3/2020-I was so reluctant to use these guys after reading all the horrible reviews but I didn't have any other choices for an in-city move small pickup truck. Booked online the night before and price was reasonable. Moving day and visited store and declined the extra liability coverage ($10). Their online check-in and acceptance procedure was fairly painless. Although the photos they presented was the truck very clean and washed but when I got it the interior and exterior were a bit dirty but not a huge deal. I still took my own photos just in case. About 15 min and was out the door. $20 + $0.79/mile. 2 hours later and returned with gas replaced. A few extras miles was accrued and charged. I think I was very lucky compared to all the previous reviews.”

“I needed a trailer in the bay area and Portola Valley Hardware was the only one that had it. I called ahead to make sure they did indeed have the trailer, and was assured by Gary that they did. When I got there, the super-friendly staff took care of me right away, hooked the trailer up to my minivan and tested all of the safety features. Wonderful people!”
