Great farmers market. Love the bread from Little Sky Bakery and eating under the redwoods!

After a hike at Windy Hall we stopped by the market to see if anything looked good. Everything was shutting down because it was 5:30 but the bakery was still there. They had a few items left. We asked the prices. This review is not for the staff that were friendly but for the prices which were exorbitant! The Epi (basically a baguette made up of small rolls) was $10. The traditional baguette was $8 and the seeded baguette was $5. Ridiculously expensive. Are they jacking up the prices because it's portola valley?

Born and raised in the bay area and I had never been to Portola Valley until last week. (Shrug....dunno) Anywho... The market is small and cute and located in a beautiful scenic area with plenty of parking. During our visit there were a few produce vendors, local honey, bread/pastries, and a few food trucks or stalls... crepes, chicken, and our favorite being Coolinaria, which offers wonderful organic/sustainable Mexican cuisine. I also discovered a fantastic new (to me) bakery called Little Sky. We purchased a couple delicious loaves and some wonderful cookies that are about as big as your face. No joke. It was a lovely and peaceful outing. If you find yourself in the area, it's worth a look.
