Do not engage in any electronic transactions through third party delivery services. On thanksgiving day, I placed an order around 4-5 pm and I made sure to verify the store hours considering the holiday. The estimate time arrival was roughly 45 min which I felt that this was somewhat reasonable for this day. I waited over a hour and nothing had been updated. Uber was not able to provide me with proper feedback because this business has elected to use their own employees to drive and they are responsible for the tracking and guaranteed delivery of goods. After 90 mins I called the store multiple times and finally spoke with someone who led me on to believe that a driver was on the way. Only to see that after 2 hours of delay.. the status on app was changed to show a completed delivery. It is illegal to deliver or exchange any alcoholic beverages without checking a valid ID and it's a criminal offense to "leave at door" as if it was food ordered. Over the weekend I followed up by calling into the store, and I had spoke with one of the employees and she took down my information to pass on my message to the owner or the manager I was requesting a call back at earliest convenience. I spoke to manager then the owner some days later, he basically gave me the run around with unrealistic excuse acting as he was incapable of resolving issue directly with Uber.I mentioned that they had literally told me that they just needed clarification that I did not receive goods. all he needed to do was reach out to Uber to inform them of the mistake and provide the proof so I could receive refund. It was out of our control at this point and not once did he try to mitigate the situation by offering me a guarantee of valued goods or attempt to refund me directly from physical store location. A week or so later, I received a voice mail from owner and he was basically telling me to engage in dispute of charge to receive credit from my bank or credit card company. He stated that this was "he said she said" and did not have decency to be responsible for the error of the business. Bait and switch sales tactics, fraudulent misrepresentations of business practices, as well as an intent to mislead consumers for petty thefts are violations in the state of California. Anyone that has common sense is aware of when and when not to submit disputes on credit cards engaging in this sort of behavior is unethical unprofessional and unlawful. A judge would not consider any of this as valid.
