Worse possible place I've ever experienced for my poor dog... petco's own Vetco clears out senior dog who has arthritis to get a full grooming and this idiot of technician who supposedly is trying to shave him continues to ignore he's having difficulty standing to the point his weight was in his neck... after knocking on the window multiple times to get their attention, another tech comes out. We told the tech he has arthritis and to try to make him at least a bit comfortable and the next thing u hear is that because he's on "heavy meds" they cannot help him.... I'm so disgusted by how incompetent these techs or at this point how awful this company is for hiring such incompetence... their own doctor clears our dog to get groomed and these idiots can't do their job and blame it on "heavy meds"?!?!?!

Concern: I purchase cat food twice a month at Porter Ranch pet co. The brand I purchase is Whole Hearted canned and occasionally Science Diet. Over the years cat food has moved increasingly towards the back of the store and the choices are limited. The cat food now is located literally in the back corner in a dimly lit area in the store. In order to get to the cat food you need to walk down numerous aisles. I understand that petco wants me to view all the other pets (birds, betas, lizards, guinea pigs) thinking I'll purchase these live animals as an impulse buy. I won't. A lot of people own cats in the United States (more cat owners than dog) Why does petco make it so difficult to purchase cat food? I feel the next time I go in cat food will be in the warehouse in the back and eventually be in the parking lot. Seriously petco move the cat food into a more convenient location for your customers and better lit location. And stock more Whole Hearted Pate.

This review is for Vetco Total Care.This year I have become a cat daddy. This was my very first kitten. Since it was a stray abandoned from its litter I wanted to ensure the kitten's health is well. Although I went to a different Vetco for my kitten's initial shots, I came to this location's Vetco to inquire about spaying. I am not sure if it was bad timing but I've had a difficult time find a spay/neuter facility that was accepting new animals. I reached out to many different places and resulted to no avail. My last resort was to go to Vetco and I honestly did not want to go this route as it was going to be a pricey one. But I did. I felt that my kitten should be taken care of before it goes into its first heat cycle. (not sure if this is really an issue or not)I made my appointment online with ease. Shortly after I received a call from the location and set up two appointments. First was for preop and the other was for the actual operation date. It amazed me how much further into the year we had to schedule but as I mentioned earlier, I wanted to take care of it prior to the kitten's first heat cycle. All the staff that I have met were nice and clear about any information or updates on my cat. We completed the preop and all that was left was the operation date. What I didn't like about the operation date is they set me up for an early time. There was no one at Vetco to greet me at the door as it was locked. I did see some Petco employees walking into the store but the store doesn't open for another 2 hours. So what do I do? While while waiting outside. I watched employees walk in. Asked about getting attended as I had an appointment. Called a couple of times but no one was available to receive my call. Then finally a Vetco employee walked up and asked if I had an appointment. From there I was attended to and made the kitty drop off. Later in the afternoon I came to pick up my cat and had some instructions to follow. A week later we came back for a follow up and my cat was doing great with her recovery. Other than the cost and waiting outside for some time to get someone's attention, I am pleased with the service and speaking with vet about any questions or concerns I may have had at the time. Took my kitten in to get her shots was told she needed one more set and would be up to date everything done, so off we go get there girl comes out is going down through things and says she needs such and such well that was done last time she was there, then they take her back come out are ringing us up says when do u want to schedule her last appt I looked at her and said she's done she goes no she isn't they were definitely trying to pull a fast one to get more money, I have all the papers saying what she had and she is all up to date on her shots, be careful peeps don't let them try and talk u into something your baby has already had

This is absolute WORST vetco location. I do not care how "affordable" it is. Not worth the headache. Trust me. You'd rather spend triple and go somewhere reputable with better customer service who will treat you and your pet well. I would never entrust these people with my beloved family member. People nowadays need EXTENSIVE training in customer service or petco needs to pay their people better, so they can some sense of happiness and not sound like they hate their lives. Maybe this is why they choose to work with animals and not human beings. Don't waste your money or efforts in visiting this porter ranch location

Everyone that works here loves animals.Front desk, vet tech, and vet went out of their way to make sure my pet and I were given the treatment we need in a timely manner. Friendly and welcoming environment.

I visited Petco in Porter Ranch yesterday and so happy I did, Natalie assisted me with my questions and concerns, helped me find the products I was asking for and gave me some great recommendations for my dog. Natalie was great!! Thank you!!

I highly recommend Dr. Landa for your pets. She's amazing. She kept me informed with the latest scientific facts so that I could make the best decision for my cat :) There was no pressure to make a certain decision and they are up front with their prices. They present you with an itemized vet bill based on the services, labs, medications etc that they recommend and then you get to decide what you want and can see how much everything will cost. Truly the simplest experience and not at all like other places that push you to get all these services done so that they can present you with an expensive bill. I felt really taken care of and my kitty was comfortable with her vet. I love it here!

We are just finding out that our neighborhood Pet-Co which I took my dog there few times a year in last 10 years DOES NOT do grooming on dogs who are on medication. Not only this place was notified last year for my dog's medication, but didn't give us heads up when we made the appointment last week. I could have taken my dog to somewhere else. Honestly VERY DISAPPOINTED in management. Employees were trying to help but manager didn't approve, even after I said I would sign a liability waiver. Most dogs go on medication a few times a year. What a ludicrous rule that is. I already made an appointment somewhere else and will take my business there from now in but MIGHT WANNA THINK TWICE TAKING YOUR BUSINESS HERE AGAIN.

Ordered same day delivery for it not to be same day delivery. I even called to confirm it would be here on time. They said yes it's ready for delivery. Called AGAIN around 8:30pm saying I have not gotten a notification that it's on the way. Only to be told that I won't be getting it till tomorrow even though it's been ready for pick up. Will not be using again.

This review is solely for the manager Rocio. They were SUPER helpful, friendly, and made my experience at this particular store very good! They were handling a lot of issues when they were called to help me, but they were still able to be attentive and help me with my issue. I was impressed with their professionalism and attentiveness to my concerns. More managers should be like this!

This Petco location has been remodeled and revamped!. Always a pleasure to visit there store. I also take my two Maltese dogs to their grooming department. Our groomer Brett goes above and beyond to provide excellent service to Bunny & Funny. Him and his team are friendly, efficient and my family enjoys taking are dogs there to be groomed, thank you Brett. Andrea

Big thank you to Brett A and his students. My Cocker Spaniel looks beautiful and they cut him exactly how I requested. They were good with any matts and didn't give me a hard time about them. The student groomer explained everything she did which was wonderful. They are very professional and nice. I look forward to more groomings with them.

I was very content with the service I received during my visit to Petco. I often come here with my pup and we appreciate the customer service. The manager was very helpful and friendly. I also recommend visiting their vet clinic for lower cost vaccines.
