We were referred to Dr. Armington by another vet so I knew we would be in good hands. Dr. A is very compassionate about her work, her patients, and the owners. She really takes the time to hear what you are saying and doesn't discredit what you are telling her. I appreciate how thorough she is and how invested she is in her patients. All of the staff are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

Over one hour wait, never was seen and finally left. The place was not busy and nobody inside and still waited for so long. It had been several hours no call back or anybody to help us. Horrible service and a horrible place. I highly recommend you checkout a different place locally.

I just moved to the area a few months ago, and was needing to establish care with the local vet. Since this is my "forever home," I was excited to find a vet here in Port Hueneme where my older cats could be seen. When I contacted them this morning, before the receptionist even asked what the problem was, he told me try Ventura area; there are no appts for weeks. Then he asked why I was calling, and still said I'm better off going to Ventura area vets. I really thought I'd get the same type of animal care and love here in this wonderful beach town as I did living in Monterey. Sorely mistaken. Doesn't seem like this place is really interested in getting new lifetime customers...

I haven't done a Yelp review in almost a decade, but I had to get back on just because I need everyone to know how amazing this place is. When I first got my puppy, Keoke, back in August of 2020, I was trialed as a first time puppy owner. After taking my puppy to another vet for her puppy shots, I noticed that her fur was beginning to fall out in immense amounts and the skin on her nose looked abnormal. Different medications and treatments with the first vet did not look like it was gaining any success, just making the situation worse. That's when my cousin referred me to PHAH. Since it was in the middle of COVID, I wasn't able to get an appointment right away, but it was definitely worth the wait. Right when Dr. Armington saw my Keoke, she wanted to do as much as she could right away. Dr. Armington was amazing at choosing immersive diagnostics and even got several consults for her skin biopsy. She did not stop until she got an answer and solution since it was something she has never seen before. Unfortunately, Keoke was diagnosed with ischemic vessel disease, something extremely rare for a puppy. Because of this, it was questionable on how we will treat it. However, Dr. Armington stayed true to her word in finding a solution and did everything she could to help my dog. And without doubt, she did. We found the perfect regimen! But it didn't stop there. My dog then got viciously attacked in February. The emergent surgery was done by another vet because we wanted to take her to the first place that would get her in right away. We were afraid of her bleeding out from the medications she's on for her disease. The aftermath of the surgery was a downfall. Keoke's stitches and wounds became worse, in which I tried to address to the vet that did her emergent surgery. I then decided to follow up with Dr. Armington because I trusted her greatly. Dr. Armington then informed me that her wounds were getting worse and was able to help us in more depth. PHAH always made sure to follow up with Keoke as much as possible, even to get her in as a drop off. I really appreciated that PHAH's whole entire team put in their hearts and souls to help my puppy out, and they always welcomed her with a warm smile. I also appreciate that Dr. Armington takes in consideration my crazy schedule as a nurse and always talks to me so informatively. She really knows her stuff! I know this post is long, but I'm eternally grateful for Dr. Armington and all her staff. A long post just shows all the lengths they would take for their patients. I owe it all to them. They really care about my pet as if she was their own and they definitely show the same respect to the pet's owners too. I wish I could say thank you to them a million times! Do not hesitate to make an appointment here! You will not be disappointed.

Dr. Armington and her staff have been my dog's vet for the last two years. I felt compelled to write a review because I'm super thankful for how much time Dr Armington spends explaining options (and prices). I always ask a LOT of questions and she always takes the time to address my concerns and discuss various possible courses of action. She's honest and thorough, and I never feel like I'm being "upsold" on unnecessary tests or treatments, which is becoming increasingly important now that my fur baby is almost 15! I've recommended Dr Armington's practice to friends using other vets in the Ventura area and they all have thanked me for helping them find a better vet. I think that says a lot.

Dr. Armington and her staff are excellent. We take our dogs and cat to PHAH. They are fair priced and truly care. They explain all options and take their time to evaluate your pet. Definitely the best vet I have ever been to. When it came time to put one of our beloved dogs to sleep, they were compassionate and followed up with us to see how we were doing.

Always great experience and personalization. I met Dr. Armington on a random visit with one my senior clients. That was back when we could do in-person visits. She was very easy to talk to, positive and always lays it out straight to you. Whatever the situation may be. Rash, epilepsy...(yes, that's us), gobbled a tennis ball- (us too)...she gives the straight up advice and recommendations. We have cats and dogs and she has treated/ seen both for wellness and illness. Her staff is also professional. We are happy with their services and care.

We've been taking our animals to Dr. Armington since 1992 on recommendation of a friend when we moved to the area from overseas, apparently just after she opened. She's taken care of our first cat Bumper. Then our dog Geordie for his entire 14 year life. Did surgery (I know) on my daughter's hamster. Also our 16 year old dog Fritzy who is still doing great. And now with our two new cats Loch and Peaty as well as my daughters two cats Charley and Mac when she's in town. Highly recommended.
