The owner of this place signed me up 3 yrs ago. He was friendly when I first came in and when I tried to remove my contract he kept on ignoring me. I even explained to him that the work out is too much for a beginner like me. They only care about the money, they don’t care if you die from the tough workout

Owner does not have integrity. If you are wanting to sign up and give him your money, he's available. He will absolutely make time to contact you. ?On the other hand, I've been trying to cancel my membership for months and I've left several messages. And no surprise, no one will respond. This is the result of a business that really isn't thriving, instead they take advantage of contracts like mine. These kinds of business tactics are PREDATORY This is not a business that is geared toward the client.*The trainer staff on the other hand are great and this is not their fault.*

I left at least 4 messages with the company located on channel islands boulevard. Not one time did anyone return my call. My daughter was in the hospital and could no longer attend classes. I left at minimum of 4 messages. Very disappointed that never was one call returned. We were continually charged every month. what a shame!!! I was finally able to go in person to cancel, but was still charged for the following month. but what a sad place to charge 3 months in a row when she could never attend. very unsettling. God forbid you have a tragedy in your life. never again.

I joined in the summer after having a great workout with one of the trainers. I was the only person in the gym, the trainer wore a mask, and was very kind. I signed up on the spot. The next day, I went to workout and found a full gym (15ish people, including trainers), not a mask in sight, the door was closed, no ventilation, and the equipment was not being cleaned. I decided to continue my workout because I was there, which turned out to be a horrible choice. I was verbally abused by a trainer in a very humiliating and public way throughout my workout. I asked him several times to be kind to me, to speak to me with respect, etc. I eventually left early in tears because I was so upset, embarrassed, and angry. Once, I asked a different trainer if I was doing the move correctly, who told me yes, and then the other trainer came over and yelled angrily and loudly that I need to "knock it off and stop half assing everything or I'm just wasting my time," and "oh my god, have you ever even seen a real boxer stand like that?" and many other rude, embarrassing comments. I called the gym when I got home and told them how upset I was. The guy I spoke with (I believe he was the assistant manager), told me he would "talk to him" and "he's just a straight talker type of person." I was NOT pleased with this response. A little over a week later, I called to cancel my membership after attempting to go back, seeing the abusive trainer in the window, and driving away. The manager told me that I wasn't able to cancel my membership, and that I should be happy because that trainer was fired. Of course I think there were plenty of grounds to fire him, but it doesn't change the fact that I had a horrible, embarrassing, discouraging experience and I do not feel comfortable there any more. I asked to speak with the owner and we spoke the next day. In my conversation with the owner, he blamed me for the trainer getting fired, told me how I "should feel" over and over, gaslight me by saying " I don't really even know what the truth is...I wasn't there...Who knows what the truth really is, etc". He mentioned my weight and told me he could "transform my body" if I just went back to the gym. I NEVER asked him, or anyone at the gym, to help me with my weight or to transform my body. He absolutely bullied me on the phone, raised his voice, and repeatedly gaslit me. I sent two written requests to cancel my membership, and he sent back an email that my membership would be canceled in a year, after the initial terms. Besides the fact that this gym is not following ANY Covid protocols and is probably spreading the disease daily, the owner is an absolute bully and refuses to take responsibility for the horrible experience that HIS employee provided. I have attempted to contact 9Round corporate office every month since then, with no response. I disputed the charges on my credit card by sharing my experience each month, and today I got an email from a collection agency that they are trying to collect $1300 from me. There is no morality involved in this whole company, apparently. I honestly can't believe that the owner of this gym is comfortable with his corrupt business practices. I will be taking legal action against the gym and continuing to share my experience.

As a trainer I went for a few reasons, I miss hitting the bags and always enjoy a good workout. Which I DID get there, they use HIIT methods incorporating the boxing & kickboxing with it. Price seems a bit high, staff was kool, but didn't like the fact that they don't have any sessions where you can workout on your own. Sometimes people just need to use the equipment because they have experience, but ooh well, can't get always get EVERYTHING you want haaha

I continued to pay dues at the 9 Round in Port Hueneme during the entire Covid-19 shut down, (almost $1,000). This was despite not be able to work out. But that was OK as I really wanted to support a local small business that was suffering during the Pandemic. When I learned that they are defying the county and state health order and decided to open indoor, I contacted Ventura County Health Department and the City of Port Hueneme and both confirmed 9 Round was violating the health order and were not allowed to be open indoors. I emailed l to cancel my membership. Only to receive an email from Larry saying that I would be sued and sent to collection if I didn’t pay $108 for December and $108 for January and a $25 fee. This is how this gym treats people who’ve invested in their business despite not being able to use their gym. Terrible business Practices. Check out their Yelp reviews, They are threatening other members with lawsuits and collections as well. Despicable

5 stars to Larry for assisting my wife and I with a membership payment issue at another chain location. How amazing is that. The same day I reached out to him regarding my concerns he not only txted me within minutes but took care of the situation spot on. I was frustrated calling my local 9Round location for 3 days leaving messages and no one returned my call. Larry demonstrates professionalism and shows he’s all about communication.

I have been a member of this gym for about a year+. I really enjoyed their workouts. When Covid hit and gyms were forced to close, I continued my membership for 10 months (Paying over $1000 to this local business) despite only being able to work out there a few times due to the pandemic. Now, we're in the worst surge of this pandemic i and I find out they are defying health orders and have opened the gym for INDOOR WORKOUTS. I received an email from them about this and called thinking it has to be a mistake, thinking "we are at a 1% availability of ICU beds in the county and no one could be that reckless". When I called, I was informed that they were in fact open for INDOOR WORKOUTS as they have designated themselves as a "healthcare facility ". SERIOUSLY?!? This is a tiny, tiny boxing gym with little or little ventilation, no sterilization of equipment. HORRIFIC!
