This place is absolutely amazing. While small in size, the selection is fantastic, and I was able to find what I was looking for where other bookstores in the area came up empty, and I had been to 4!

I am writing this review from my apartment in NYC a whole year after visiting this spot because my experience was that lovely. The owner of this bookstore is exceptionally sweet, and her stories about this small business (its origins and people she has met) certainly imbued its walls with a sense of wonder. I wish I came to Pomona more often, but if you are thinking of dropping by (especially if you're any kind of artist) it is an amazing spot for inspiration.

Great little used book store! They have a student discount and if the prices are left on the books you buy there you can return them later for a trade.

I called ahead to be sure they were open. Lady said I'd like to see the books. So I drove on over. the neon sign above the door "Open". Yet the door was locked! Lights were on but nobody inside. I tried calling again and it went to full mailbox. I waited around outside to no avail. I finally gave up.

Magic Door is a fitting name since you can easily get lost in this store's endless abyss of books. This bookstore is located in Downtown Pomona and is the perfect getaway from the bustling city. We entered Magic Door for a 'quick' look around, and spent close to an hour exploring. There are a variety of books that stock their shelves, including: fantasy, self help, cooking, traveling, mystery, suspense, manga, comics, and young adult books. One genre that was noticeably missing was romance - so if that is your go-to, I'd probably look elsewhere. They have a decent balance of old to new books, but I'd say the majority are older. The shelves are well organized, but you definitely have to dig to find that hidden gem! This bookstore is owned by an elderly woman and her adorable cat, Charlie Girl. The Magic Door has been a part of Downtown Pomona for close to 20 years now, and is definitely worth a peak! There's something for everyone here, but we may have raided all of the Goose Bump series - sorry.

I've gone here several months ago when I went to check out a farmer's market in Pomona for the first time. This bookstore is right along the street of the market. It's a rather quaint used bookstore in a small, narrow space. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here since I don't live that close, but it was nice to check it out while I was there.

This Pomona local used book store is special. The owner was a super smart and well liked downtown Pomona fixture. His life ended tragically and shocked those who visit downtown. His wife still runs the place with the cat and she's the sweetest lady. She's older and is sticking in there for the time being. Stop by to say hello to her or maybe pick up a paperback novel or a used hardcover. The place is small and simple so take your time because some rare or "preview" copies of books do show up along with cult books. Support all city local businesses everywhere.

Sweet, friendly owner. One-of-a-kind used bookstore with plenty of treasures to be had. Also a lot to do in the area with bars, vintage shops, theatres, and local restaurants.
