Mind blown -- I never knew Cal Poly Pomona was a California State University! *laughs into an embarrassing chuckle* AND... this campus is HUGE!! At least I knew about their agricultural studies being high up on the most popular degrees! I seriously loved seeing the foothills, all the green, farmland, cows... yes, the cow goes moo! Cows can be very peaceful to watch. The best part was learning about the old iconic CLA Building being brutalist architecture (yesssss... the same architectural deisgn as our nation's FBI headquarters... the J. Edgar Hoover Building in Washington, D.C.), which is a modern form of architecture... and maybe that is why Gattaca (with Ethan Hawke, Uma Thurman, and Jude Law) was filmed there... so sad the CLA Building is gone. The school being famous for breeding Arabian horses and like I stated before... their College of Agriculture, which inclides Animal Science. The same Kellogg breakfast cereal creator founded Cal Poly! You will actually see the word "Kellogg" scripted out on a building in red exactly how it is printed on a cereal box (I think it was the Union Plaza building). The school is also known for their Hospitality Management and they actually have a hotel and conference centers on campus! I seriously hope opening three paragraphs gave you multiple mind-blowing experiences. This campus truly was beautiful and unique. I actually got a private tour from an alumnus who happens to be my boyfriend. He is a legacy, which I love. We started from the area where the Gym and the new Student Rec Center are, passed the Bookstore, the Union Plaza which were the old stables, the dorms (where there is a statue of an Arabian horse), the Library, and made our way pass the new Student Services Building towards the old CLA Building. Then came the elements I love... gardens. We stopped by the Japanese Garden, the Rose Garden, and the pond where turtles were at La Cienega Center. I saw four turtles! Just missing a rat and some ooze... We went by Manor House and trying to get to Kellogg House. Instead, I got distracted by a succulent garden and wooden pergola with greenery. The wooden sign covered by all the greenery said: Voorhis Ecological Reserve. At first, I thought it was just another small garden. But holy crap... I was wrong. It looked like Hawaii or a jungle from Indiana Jones! We took this stone path that was weathered and erode. It kept trailing up and we ended up in the backyard of Kellogg House. Then, of course, I found another set of stairs and trail that led to the radio tower. Curiosity led us up to a stunning hilltop view of the campus. It was breathtaking! It made the unplanned cardio worth it! Somehow we managed to go back the way we came and exited the Reserve and made our way to where the University Quad area is where Engineering, Sociology, and Marketplace are. That Quad was pretty! It looked collegiate! Apparently that is where graduation takes place. Then more steps! It led us to Kellogg West where the lodge and conference center are. They actually had restrooms and it was perfect timing for a bathroom break. Uhhhhh... I just realized. I am literally hashing out on Cal Poly Pomona's Yelp my exact walking tour! LOL! Ooooops... Ok, intermission (a.k.a. bathroom break) over! In the Kellogg West Conference Center, they had historical photos on the walls. I love historical photographs, especially the black and white ones that showed W.K. Kellogg. After Kellogg West were the cows!! We got to the Beef Unit. That was when the sun was setting and the foothills looked so beautiful. For a moment I thought I was out in the Midwest. I miss being out in rural America! Nature is seriously harder to come by now, especially living in the OC. So I definitely enjoyed the landscape. Going back towards the main part of campus, we went by the Environmental and Agricultural area. At one point, we passed by a small vegetable/herb garden and greenhouse. Then we were back at the Quad! Phew! As the sun was setting, we took the route behind the Marketplace and went past Music, Performing Arts,

They need a new president who doesn't stand for and/or participate in the embezzlement of funds that should be directed toward the students and their education. As a paying parent, I am angry that this has not been properly investigated and prosecuted because I never signed up to donate to someone else's fancy home or European vacation. Shame on Coley for 'allegedly' destroying evidence.

This lady Alicia Corral said she works for this college as their Fundaraising Cordinator. If she will LIE on a small school report imagine what else she's lieing about? But then again that's the kind of person she is. No one is surprised

When was my college on Yelp?! I Can't rate Cal Poly Pomona 5-stars because I'm a tad jelly on what the students actually now sit through on public transportations when back in the days, I had to sit on the stinkin' tram on raining days going soaking wet to class before. They get actual buses now!!!! No fair. So we got the trams, they got buses....hmmm. Wow. What a change here. Quite honestly, if I was going back to the buildings I spent most time on this campus, I don't think I would be able to find either building, not even the Library! They had built so many parking structures and other buildings since I graduated here. They even have an 'Innovation Brewery,' to hang out at nowadays. Where was that place years ago?! The only building I can only find would be the Administration building, Aka the Triangle building where they actually filmed a Hollywood movie there which according to my friend Net A, was demolished. After Googling, 'Gattaca,' with Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman was filmed at Cal Poly Pomona.

Fire all the current counselors and hire new counselors who are willing to actually listen to students, not just ones who do the absolute bare minimum.

Literally the advisors here don't answer for anything. The professors are usually the worse people. The village is infested with roaches. Etc

By far the best school. The college of Ag is amazing and allows students to work hands on from day 1. Highly recommend this school for any STEM student!

We Just want to give a thumbs up and a shout out to all the humans we met recently at my son and I's visit to Cal State Pomona(Cal Poly). We met Danetta from staff. She was very pleasant and helped us with some directions. I went to the tutoring lab in the library student resource center. I learned from a very helpful girl in there about how to be a student tutor and the resources available in the library to help learn. We then met Severin, a graduate student in robotics, who gave us a tour and introduced us to another graduate student Cameron and his professor. We met others there as well and they were all so friendly and helpful...students and staff! The Seattle's best coffee machine by in between the engineering buildings made really weak and not tasty robust coffee. Besides paying for parking (which I understand) and the crappy coffee from the machine ,the place was great! They have a Starbucks on campus as well although it closes early right now.

Pros and cons list (should you go here?): Pros: 1. Nice looking campus: Not the best but there's some cool spots. 2. Looks good on a resume 3. Great gym 4: health services: however long term mental health is not a service that is offered which is wrong in my opinion. 5. Friendly atmosphere 6. Big student store 7. Lots of indoor study areas and a HUGE library. Cons: 1: Unhealthy food options. I know exactly where round table pizza is and Panda Express, no idea where an apple is on this campus. 2: Bad communication. This is an issue with all staff including teachers. CPP employees seem bothered to interact with you. (Granted I have only had 3 teachers, but 2/3 bad teachers is a concern). 3. Website: If you are confused by the chaos that is a CPP website, you are not alone. There are several and navigating them is similar to a lobotomy, if not a bit more uncomfortable. 4. Outdoor study seating: Wanna study outside under a tree? Hahahahahahaha. 5. Parking: Imagine paying $120 to park somewhere you work AND go to school at 3 days a week. Now imagine paying twice as much for 2 days. (That's right kids, no employee parking, you have to pay to work here). 6. Commute: if you've never driven on Temple, I envy you. The colleges both cloth this road with thousands of workers and students who all drive like 12 year olds. 7. Emails: get ready for the most woke newsletter you will ever read every week. You can't unsubscribe and basically your student email can be used by any agency on campus who wants to get you to go to their thing. 8. No winter or summer classes: let me make this clear, if you are not an engineering student, this school invites you to suck it. BOTTOM LINE: Should I go here? Yes, if you go to Mt SAC first. Mt SAC has better teachers, just as nice of a campus, and new buildings. So unless you are looking to get the top school in athletics or your devision of education, transfer here. No, if you are coming from high school. If you are on someone else's dime, pick a better campus. 4 years at this place would piss me off. Honestly I wish I could finish my degree at Mt SAC but this is fine for 2 years and a BS.

The campus is beautiful! although i just say that the food they offer at the commons is NOT to die for. Let's begin with their breakfast. having healthy food options is a good way to go, BUT the food is not enjoyable at all. i might as well be eating cardboard!! i cannot feel the nutritional value going anywhere. it's texture you might say closely resembles many nonedible products such as slime, erasers, and peanut shells and i would not want that in my mouth. to say the least, the food can vary from dry, overcooked, flavorless, and raw. the thought eating at the commons is a moment of dread that only brings unwanted flashbacks from the last time i ate there! although i must say keep up the good work on the pancakes and meat!
