Dave combined a 14k Gold diamond bracelet and necklace for me. I had not been wearing either of them . The combined pieces are now one of a kind custome piece and I wear it almost daily.

If I could I would give ten stars. David made our wedding bands and we could not be happier with them. It was such a pleasant experience to work with him. We wandered into the store one day and his down-to-earth and jovial personality resulted in us talking with him for over an hour, going over the process of measuring, selecting, and making the rings. He was so patient. He listened carefully to each of our concerns, and guided us through the process. He took his time and made us feel heard. His expertise is clear and he really cares about each customer. We are thrilled with our rings and we will definitely be back for other jewelry.

Throughout college - I proudly donned massive silver hoop earrings. They were my thing. They often got caught on my hair. They knocked against my neck when I sped walk across campus. They glistened and stole the show in every photo. I loved them. After college - I briefly taught third graders and I'll never forget my first day of class. After introducing myself to the room - a small hand quickly shot up. With big wide eyes, a nine-year-old girl announced to the whole class "Woah - Ms. Jessica those are the biggest hoop earrings I've ever seen! " The rest of the class nodded in agreement. As I got older - I moved on to lighter - feather earrings. Then I moved onto dream catcher earrings. And currently - to match with my sweatpants clad - minimalistic existence - I wear none. My ears have been loving the freedom of my earring-free life. But today - with all of the stress of the current election - I decided to ease my anxieties with a little retail therapy. I decided to resurrect my love of hoop earrings - by investing in a golden pair. I came across Point Reyes Jewelers masterful creations on a number of lovely local online stores and I decided to go for it. I loved that David - the artist behind the jewelry has been making his art for over 25 years. He keeps comfort a top priority and he makes every item with genuine sterling silver or 14k gold filled. He'll even make pieces from 14k and 18k gold upon request. I'm so looking forward to my new pair of hoops (and hooping my sensitive ears will embrace them as well). I somehow overlooked this store, thought I would write a review because i impressed me today, and now see that it has a loyal following here of people who value custom work -- espeicially wedding rings. He makes handsome hammered gold and silver hoop earrings that are so classic and classy: I will have to own a pair soon!

Visiting Point Reyes, I remembered that a travel companion was wearing beautiful earrings made by a jeweler in Point Reyes. I found the store easily and met David, the owner. I saw a picture in his catalog and David offered to make those earrings for me and mail them. I received an exquisite pair of earrings, beautifully made, mailed to me on time. He even added to the package a small plastic bag with a few silicone safety studs to use with the earrings. It was such a nice experience to meet the artist who makes beautiful, yet reasonably priced, jewelry. You could see the pride David has in his work, the loving care he puts in each of his creations. I love my new earrings, and next time I visit Marin County, I will buy more earrings from Point Reyes Jeweler.

My fiancee and I worked with David a few weeks ago to make our own wedding bands. It was an incredible experience. Initially, we went back and forth about whether it would be more meaningful to have David, a local artist, make the rings for us, or for us to make our own, potentially less perfectly-crafted, rings. In retrospect, it's hard to believe we wavered on this decision. Spending the day together in David's workshop was incredibly meaningful, and we are really pleased how high-quality and (if we do say so ourselves) beautiful they came out. Even their small imperfections became wonderful and meaningful because we knew how each came to be and the small stories behind them. We are so glad to have those stories of process, which, at the risk of waxing sappy, are symbolic of the "process story" that is our relationship and marriage. David, of course, played a crucial and wonderful role in our ring-making day. He somehow, expertly, managed to at once lend his craftsmanship to the project, while also allowing us to have remarkable agency in the ring-making. The rings truly feel like ours. He was patient, relaxed, and made us feel welcome and comfortable in his workshop. It was, in fact, an unanticipated gift to spend a day immersed in this intricate and intimate space. David did a great job being clear about workshop rules without making us feel unwelcome. We are so grateful for the way he generously shared his space with us. David is also an excellent teacher; it's clear how much he cares about sharing his skills and wisdom with others through the ring-making process. He knows that most of us are unlikely to go on from our day with him to open our own jewelry shops or become metalworkers, but he believes deeply that aspects of what you learn over a day in his shop will transfer usefully to other areas of your life. Perhaps increased confidence with a metal file will come in handy, or the persistence practiced in polishing your rings will teach you that you can make anything shine with a little elbow grease. Or maybe you will simply walk away with greater respect and appreciation for those hands, yours and others', that bring beautiful things into this world. We cannot recommend David Clarkson highly enough. Go to him. Make your rings. You won't be disappointed.
