We live nearby so there was no need to ever stay; however, family and friends visiting us state this place is awesome. Whelp, unforeseen circumstances forced our family there late one evening. Shenandoah Inn was a pleasant relief in the madness we had going on. Jesse, the front desk attendant, was amazing and helpful. The rooms were modern, clean, and comfortable. We ended up having so much fun, our boys said we need to do it again just for fun. We highly recommend!

Very nice hotel that's very dog friendly. Ken runs the place and does a fantastic job (he'll give you a nice lesson about booking directly - call please him to save $). Housecleaning was very good, rooms were very clean and some staff might live there (and are very nice). A friend stays here every July 4th - no fireworks allowed - but it's very dry in summer. We were there in December and there's actually some grass at each end of the building for the pup. Free breakfast is back but there are several GREAT breakfast spots near by. Donut/breakfast sandwiches within walking distance but Marlene's & Glen's Diner a mile away has the best chicken fried steak YOU WILL EVER HAVE! And they are also super friendly. Overall a great stay with fantastic views.

The owner Ken and his wife are wonderful people. The inn is clean, the rooms large and comfortable and the price is reasonable. It's a great place to stay while wine tasting nearby.

While I hoped to have a beautiful weekend, nothing about this inn lived up to even a basic hotel level. First, it looks like a Motel 6 that was repainted to be an Inn. Everything about it is at the Motel 6 level. Pros-- Close to Murieta Equestrian Center. Ample Parking. Cons--- It is beyond Basic. Our room had huge gaps around the baseboard, so we saw a number of very large critters in our room, including pretty large (6"+) caterpillars. The walls are Motel 6 thin- and you can hear everything. The breakfast was a joke. It was a piece of fresh fruit, and coffee/hot chocolate. The staff was suspicious of everyone. They walked in and didn't ever say hello-- just asked me for my name, and credit card. Not friendly. I came back later to ask if I could take a hot chocolate packet for my daughter back in my room (it was sitting on the counter and I didn't need to ask but did as a courtesy). You would have thought I asked for a diamond-encrusted watch with her look and reply. She agreed begrudgingly. The pool wasn't clean, was really cold, and in poor shape. Despite being a peak weekend at the nearby center, this inn was barely occupied. Very deserted which wasn't ideal for a woman and her small child traveling alone. The area could be more pretty and walkable. 10 mins away is much nicer. It seemed moldy or dusty in corners- but the main surfaces were clean. It is a budget hotel at Inn/resort prices. I wouldn't suggest anyone stay here despite seeing all the positive reviews. I don't know where they stayed but it wasn't at the Shenandoah Inn. Save your $.

Had a great stay, the room was large, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. The owner and the maintenance guy I talked to were both very nice and helpful. Peaceful setting, nice breakfast bar, great pool (also spotless); I have nothing but good things to say about this place.

It was my husband's birthday. We have been there before, so I hoped it had not changed much. The room looked nice, but then there were some issues. The room faced the sun side, so couldn't open curtains, because sun was too hot. Maybe they should get some reflective film. The bed was like a trampoline. Ever time my husband move, I would get woken up. The breakfast was not great either. Packaged food, so we went to the donut cafe that was great!. Rate was expensive for what we experienced and wished it was a better stay. We probably won't be back.

Great staff. Rooms were very clean and huge! The in room amenities were like hotels USED to be! Good selection on the continental breakfast. Girlfriend and I will most definitely be back.Nearby activities: Great central point for gold country adventure

Great place to stay! I was riding in on my bike and Ken reached out to check on my progress and greeted me after a long ride. The pool and hot tub were just what I needed and the room was perfect. Lots of little things like razor and toothpaste. I wish I could have stayed longer. Thanks for your Service Ken and for taking great care of me!

There's truly nothing exciting to report about this lodging as the location offers nothing of interest except bed & shower. The area is in desperate need of a facelift, curb appeal & more amenities. This little town/community lacks good entertainment & quality dining. Everything is old & run down.

This is right on the highway.
The nice things I can say is the air conditioner works and there’s a clean pool. The beds are OK.
Just discovered that for two people they left us one coffee packet.
Even though it says on the website the breakfast will not be served because of Covid, the man at the front desk last night assured us that we could. But now at almost 8 o’clock in the morning they are closed up can’t even get a bottle of water.
The refrigerator barely keeps anything cold. So I will be throwing out my expensive dinner from the lovely restaurant down the street.
And they gave us 24 ounce bottles of water. I guess I should be grateful that there are two of them.
What are the lamps does not turn on because it’s broken.
And instead of fixing the overhead fan in the bathroom, they simply removed the wall switch. I assure you that is very very uncool.
I would never stay here again. At over $200 a night for two people it is literally highway robbery.

We enjoy our visits to Plymouth, CA, to imbibe in delicious wines. It's our poor man's Napa. Shenandoah Inn is a good spot to crash with clean nice rooms.

Found ourselves in the snow storm in Sierra foothills. My husband is a Supervisor in our local Municipality. He was on call, roads closed, blocked, our power out. We made a decision to go to our local hotel at least for that night. Ken at Shenandoah Inn, was amazing, took excellent care and when power was still out the next day, needing the room again, Ken made sure we were well taken care of again. We evacuated during the Caldor Fire, Ken took excellent care of us, the fire crews and other evacuees. If you need too, or if you're traveling, I highly recommend the Shenandoah Inn, call the hotel directly, talk to Ken.

Brought a group here, a block of 16 rooms. First of all, the management was very easy to work with. This hotel has a great location, essentially dead center in gold country, halfway between Nevada City and Sonora. Each room is clean, spacious and comfortable, and they have great views as well. My suggestion is that you bring your own soap and shampoo, or that the hotel could up it's game a little in this area. Definitely recommend if you are here to explore all this area has to offer.
