I have been a Marriott bon voyage member for 8 years and I’ve never been treated the way I was at this hotel. My business partner and I travel extensively for work and had a reservation at this Pleasanton Marriott for three nights… October 19 through October 22. I had made the reservation several weeks in advance directly through Marriott. We had spent the day in the bay area having meetings and were pretty exhausted when we arrived to the hotel after 9 PM. We were greeted by the female at the front desk and she told us they were oversold for the night. She was not apologetic and pretty much looked at us like we were supposed to know what to do. She called over the manager and he spent the next hour giving us excuses and trying to find another hotel. We were finally relocated to another hotel about 10 minutes away. It was not a Marriott property and was not a nice hotel at all! I asked the manager if this was a common practice for this hotel, and he mentioned that it does happen. I asked for one thing from Marriott… To talk with the GM or owner about this. As of today, almost a week later, no one has called or contacted me to apologize. As a long time loyal Marriott customer, I will no longer look exclusively to stay in Marriott properties. Increasingly, I have been staying in Hilton and Hyatt properties instead and will continue to do so, as I am treated much better.
I would avoid the Pleasanton Marriott at all costs.

I think the minimum expectation for any hotel reservation is that the hotel will have a room for you to stay in. This Marriott location didn’t even meet that minimum threshold. My reservation for two nights was made over a month in advance, and yet when I showed up tonight I was told the hotel was “overbooked.” Despite being told initially they would accommodate me at a near by Marriott, that also proved false. After nearly 30 minutes of waiting with the front desk manager offering nothing other than a weak apology and no solutions, I made the decision to book at a nearby Double Tree that was able to do without a reservation, what this Marriott couldn’t do with a reservation, and provide me a room.

Stayed for one night, great stay, comfortable bed and AWESOME gorgeous morning sunrise, a little far from where I wanted to be but otherwise great place.
The lobby restaurant, Lone Oak, had good dinner and breakfast, the recommended Asian rice bowl (a little too sweet for me) and chicken wings were delicious. The avocado toast with whole egg (instead of egg whites) had lots of guacamole and was superb.

Booked 2 nights with this Marriott. I typically book directly with the hotel as I am a Bonvoy member. Rate was really high. Booked non refundable through a 3rd party. The night before, my 12 year old daughter's appendix burst. Emergency surgery. I'm a single father. Non refundable ticket on Delta. Told them what happened.. they took the hospital name, number and my information and REFUNDED the full amount because of the situation. Delta: "We value your business and want to keep it." Well done Delta. Called the Marriott. No, no, absolutely not, no. "You booked a non refundable room. Call the 3rd party vendor." I had already done that and they approved the refund if the Marriott would refund on their end. Look, I travel non stop for business. I'm intelligent enough to understand non refundable. I'm a single father trying to raise two children after their mother passed. Money is tight. The Marriott could have had a heart as I am sure $250 won't bankrupt them. I offered to let them speak with the hospital staff. Nope. I asked the woman who was helping me to transfer me to a manager. Nope. By
Law they owe me nothing and I understand that, but being that ridged and cold is not cool. Now. I will never stay with them again. I also book all the travel for my company and I have removed them from the list of available hotels. I'm a dime a dozen to the Marriott, but I tend to hold a grudge.

I hope the Manager of this hotel reads this. The Concierge Lounge is a complete joke. I travel all over the country, year round, and this Concierge Lounge is bar FAR the worst! Appetizers are brought out at 5pm each evening. Every Marriott I have ever stayed at , brings several hot pans filled with plenty of food. At this location however, the staff member comes out with minimal food. By the time the 4th or 5th person walks up to get something to eat, there is nothing left. I had to wait 25 minutes for Marriott staff to return with food, and again there is only enough food for about 2 or 3 people! Its practically crumbs! I was a Hotel guest for 5 days, and this process happened every single evening ! In addition, I must add that Most M Club / Concierge Lounge's offer a table with bags of chips, apples, banana's, granola bar, etc. This Concierge Lounge has nothing. This hotel needs a major change with how they treat their loyal Platinum Bonvoy members!

On my last visit we requested room on the ground floor. I was informed that we will have our room on the ground floor. when I checked the app we were given room on the second floor. when I called front desk , I was informed that my room was given away because they have a soccer team checked in . disappointing to give away our room. then I was given a room that was disgusting the mattress was dirty/ large stain . you lost my trust by giving away our room. after COVID how can Marriott have guest sleep on such dirty mattress. HORRIBLE .
1. Checking in was nice and quick friendly
2. M Lounge was open but NOT stocked they only had cold drinks, no coffee, no wine, no snacks.
3. Bathroom in our suite was not stocked . shower did not work water was not flowing to the shower head.
4. Room requested feather FREE it was not . I am allergic to feather I was unable to sleep.
5. we had late check out and again the maid knocked on our door at 1:40 PM also I had the DO NOT disturb sign on the door .
6. Breakfast service was not welcoming servers were a little rude. there was 2 services and they had only one table 2 guests in the dining room .

Stayed here in 2024 and 2016, a lot of improvements in last few years.
Pros: lobby big enough if you are travelling with group.
Rooms are spacious and clean and quiet.
Cons: Internet is paid and very slow for even whatsapp call.
