Andy and his skilled crew of Pedro, Jesus and David recently painted all of the existing cabinets in our entire house and then manufactured and installed custom replacements for all of the cabinet doors, drawer fronts and drawer boxes. Their materials and workmanship are top notch and the crew paid excellent attention to all details. My wife and I feel like we just moved into a brand new home. We feel very fortunate to have found GS Fine Finishers to hire for our project.

Andy, Angie, and their team were fantastic. We broke our project up into two phases (laundry and baths and the kitchen 4 weeks later). I didn't mind the layout of my kitchen and loved having this option to do a factory finish paint on my existing boxes. Andy created new doors, drawers, drawer boxes and a few gliding shelves, along with garbage pullout. My absolute favorite is that he turned the false front under my stove into a drawer which now houses all my cooking utensils!!!

We love the GS Fine Finishers' result in our kitchen! We had considered replacing, refacing or painting our kitchen cabinets which are about 35 years old and original to the house. Ultimately we contracted with GS Fine Finishers because of their friendly professionalism, the flexible design process, the paint used, the painting process, and of course, the competitive price. My initial contact by phone was with Angie Bertenshaw; she provided the first estimate based on the number of drawers and doors. The estimate makes it very easy to ballpark a final cost based on what functionality you might add to the job. We then scheduled a meeting with Andy Bertenshaw in the showroom to select a cabinet door/drawer style, see the gliding shelf setup and the soft-close operation, and how an adjustable gliding shelf works. We also discussed some problem areas in our kitchen, like a corner dead space, odd angles, and a built-in cutting board we don't use, as well as the sequence for the installation of new counters with the cabinet work (counters before cabinets). After our counters were installed, Andy came out and get a look at the space and measure everything. Our cabinet boxes were solid and in good shape. We couldn't do anything about the dead space, but ended up getting rid of the cutting board (it now looks like it was never there) as well as a small drawer over a door. We replaced the drawer and door with a larger pull-out door and an adjustable shelving system that included accommodation for taller items like baking sheets. We also decided on a couple more gliding shelves and to replace all the drawers with fronts to match the cabinets, including the false ones, and to have Andy's team install the new hardware. We got soft-close on all doors and drawers. Andy provided our new estimate and I asked for an installation timeframe to work around vacation and time to get all the cabinets cleared out. Jesus and his team member David were the installation team and it was great working with them! They were friendly and professional, on site when they said they'd be, and let me know what was going on at each step. It was a 3-day process, but nothing seemed rushed or short-cutted. On the first day they isolated the work area with tape and plastic sheets to keep the sanding, primer and paint fumes to the kitchen. All door and drawers were removed and the cabinet boxes cleaned, trim caulked, boxes sanded and primed. The second day 2 coats of the resin hardening 2k polyurethane paint were added. The third day was installation of the new drawers, doors, gliding shelves, adjustable system and hardware. When they were done each day Jesus fixed the plastic so we had access to the microwave and refrigerator. When complete, Jesus went over everything, explaining curing times, clean-up and the 12 month warranty. The hardest part of the whole process was getting the cabinets cleared and then deciding what was going back in, or was to be donated : ) I definitely recommend GS Fine Finishers as THE best alternative to completely replacing cabinets, and will certainly contact them again for future cabinet needs. Thank you Angie, Andy, Jesus and David!

We could not be more impressed by GS Fine Finishers! We talked to a number of contractors to weight the pros/cons of simply repainting our old kitchen cabinets vs refacing or replacing them. Most contractors advised us to just replace the cabinets because they warned us that repainting would not achieve a cosmetically favorable result and refacing would not save that much money compared to getting completely new cabinets. Quotes were coming in at about 15k JUST for removal of the old cabinets, not including the price of new cabinets/countertops, which is easily another 10-20k. Because our countertops are relatively new and we wanted to preserve them, we looked into refacing as a middle option. We scheduled an appointment to go to the showroom and chat about our project with Andy. The appointment was quick and easy -- we just picked out our desired door styles and color. He showed us their special painting technology to create more durable painted exteriors for our existing cabinet boxes. We were sold because it was clear Andy was not trying to sell us anything -- when asked about the installation of a lazy Susan in our blind corner cabinet, Andy assured us that, in all his years of experience, he has never seen a workable option to optimize that dead space. He told us we would be paying a lot of money for ultimately wasted space. The quote provided was itemized and clear, totally reasonable. It came out to about $15k to completely reface our kitchen and 2 bathroom vanities including new cabinet doors, drawer replacements, soft close mechanisms, and handle installation (hardware not included). This also included installing several new gliding shelves, removing an old integrated cutting board to expand a drawer, and cutting a cabinet post to create a longer sliding shelf. We paid extra to upgrade to matching shaker faces for our drawers. We have had a few contractor teams come out to work on our house, and Jesus's team was by far the cleanest and most detail-oriented. They completely sealed up the kitchen and made sure to coordinate so that we always had one usable bathroom. When installing the cabinet doors and drawers, they used a level EACH and EVERY time. They tested for places where doors might run into the wall and installed little bumpers. We discovered that one of the water valves in our kitchen was broken after they moved our fridge (not their fault, old house) and Jesus went above and beyond to help us not only troubleshoot but fix the problem. I can't recommend this team enough! They will communicate and work with you every step of the way.Remodeling is hard, but GS Fine Finishers has been hands down the easiest company we have worked with. Our kitchen looks brand new and we couldn't love it more.

Very happy with our beautiful new white cabinets. Our friends cannot believe that these are not completely new cabinets. The paint was so flawless that the cabinets look like the frames were brand new. We did our entire kitchen and media center. Pedro and Jesus do beautiful work! Thank you!

I recently had GS Fine Finishers install gliding shelves in my bathrooms and kitchen. I'm a repeat customer. They did our last house, and I was amazed and pleased at how much easier these well-constructed units made my life. Andy and staff were always pleasant and professional. They were also always punctual. I inadvertently overlooked ordering a gliding shelf for my laundry room and while they were installing the remainder of my order, they took measurements, went back, constructed the unit for that overlooked shelf, and installed it the same day.

Our kitchen is totally transformed! And while the professional painting/refacing is striking, what is also impressive isn't as obvious in the photos - 1) the new soft close doors, 2) brand new drawers that pull all the way out, and 3) the adjustable "gliding shelves" in our pantry make our kitchen so much more functional. We have a brand-new kitchen for just a fraction of the cost and time (just three days!) of buying new cabinets. From the initial quote to the completion walk-through, Gliding Shelves was a dream to work with - stellar customer service, excellent attention to detail, and the entire team takes pride in their product/work.

The Gliding Shelves Team did a very professional job spraying the existing kitchen cabinetry white and replacing the existing doors with Shaker style doors and internal soft close hinges. In addition the drawers were replaced and extra drawers created. Gliding shelves were also installed where possible as they made a great addition to our previous kitchen. Andy Bertenshaw (company owner) had lots of ideas for modernizing touches to our 33year old kitchen. The installation team Jesus, Tomas and Pedro did a great job of ensuring that any mess was minimized and that the finished kitchen exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend this company. If your kitchen design works for you but needs a facelift they can save you a small fortune.

We were looking to brighten up our dark kitchen but didn't want to dispose of our cabinets which were only 6 years old, so we decided to refinish our cabinets. After getting a few quotes we decided to go with Gliding Shelves & Cabinet Painting, even after being told they wouldn't be able to get to our job for several months. This gave us time to get the floors, countertops and backsplash all redone. It certainly was well worth the wait, Andy and his crew did a fabulous job transforming our kitchen cabinets in just three days. In addition to refinishing the cabinets, they installed soft close hinges on the doors and converted the drawers to soft close as well. Gliding Shelves is in their name and we had them add pull-out shelves to several of our lower cabinets. Fast forward to a few weeks back. We had a coffee maker malfunction and our white lower cabinets and doors were stained with Italian roast coffee. We panicked for a moment and got in touch with Andy. He recommended a cleaner that could be bought at Lowe's to take care of the stains. It worked like a charm. The fact that we were able to clean up the stains so quickly just demonstrated the quality of work completed by Gliding Shelves & Cabinet Painting. Their workmanship and responsiveness was top notch. No call or text ever went unanswered. We love our renewed kitchen.

Wow, I cannot say enough about how satisfying our experiences have been with Andy and his team of professionals Angie, Pedro, Jesus and David! Several years ago I worked with Andy to install pullouts in our kitchen cabinets. I was so pleased with the quality and professionalism of Gliding Shelves that I reached out to them again when I was ready to update our twenty-year-old kitchen, hall cabinets and built in desk. I definitely wanted painted cabinets. After discussing the options with Andy, I decided to choose the MDF drawer fronts and cabinet doors in the shaker style, all with soft close features. I also opted to replace all the drawers themselves with new boxes and the self-closing tracks. The drawer boxes as well as pullouts are all made in their own shop from solid birch by Pedro. My pullouts, which are several years old now, still look brand new and are easy to clean with just a damp cloth or vacuuming. He does great work! I like the feel and the weight of the MDF doors and drawer fronts and how the product takes the paints much better than wood. The finish is so smooth! MDF used to get a bad rap as being "cheap" but if you want painted cabinets, it really is the way to go. Painted wood will never look as smooth or even as MDF. Contrary to belief, small dings and chips can be repaired as well. I also opted to have the team spray "clear coat" on the horizontal surfaces of the hall cabinets and desk for added scratch resistance since these only had a wood surface and not granite countertops. We still like our existing granite kitchen countertops and tile floors as well as wall paint colors so we needed to find cabinet paint colors that would work with all of that. Andy had us choose from Kelly Moore colors (Kelly Moore makes the tint for Andy's special paint formula) and painted some samples wood pieces for us to check out first. I found a color consultant through Kelly Moore who helped us narrow down the choices. Once the process in our home started, it only took three days! The first day was removing all the old doors, drawers and hardware, sanding, filling cracks and dings, caulking and spraying two coats of stain-killing primer. Day two was sanding and spraying several coats of my selected colors. Day three was installing all the new cabinet doors, drawers, tracks, hinges and my selected hardware. The communication from Andy and Pedro throughout the process was outstanding. We always got a confirmation the day before of what time they would be arriving. That morning we would usually get an additional text. If we had to reach out for something, they got right back to us with at least a text or email to let us know they heard us. Any questions we had were listened to and addressed. They came when they said they would and did what they said they would do and were just all-round nice guys to have around. They always wore their masks in the house and were very neat and cleaned up after themselves every day as much as was possible. I have never had a better contractor experience! We do the "happy dance" in our new kitchen every day!
