Beware this place closes about 15min before their posted closing time. I went there last week and I showed up 30 min early, around 4pm (sign says they close at 4:30). At 4:15 girl came from behind the counter and locked the door. I heard people knocking on the door all the way up to 5min before closing time. WOW how rude can they be? When I inquired about it the receptionist said they do this because they have to let the vials of blood sit for up to 30min before testing. I was like why don't you post your closing at 4 then and you guys get off at 4:30. Thats just rude!

Normally this place is decent. Get in, get out, get results in timely fashion. However I am very disappointed in their service lately. My son was there getting blood drawn for a peanut allergy and anemia. He is 2 years old. They took 3 vials of blood. Again, he is only 2. Now I get a call from the Dr's office saying that they did not have enough blood to test for the peanut allergy. How is it that 3 vials of blood are not enough. What are you vampires? Where did it go? Needless to say, I have to take my son in again for a blood draw. We will be going elsewhere now. Very disappointed.

Was Muir lab but it's lab corp now. Long line of people and only 1 phlebotomist! People have been waiting for 45 mins. There's 2 but he only sits in front. Combined w/ fasting, no coffee my lab result showed "elevated anger". Go to 1450 treat bl walnut creek instead. Eddie had me in and out in 5 mins!

A year ago I would have rated MuirLab 5 stars but that would have been based on their direct line service. To be clear, the phlebotomists have all been wonderful at every MuirLab facility I've visited. However, it seems they can't pull their head out of there rears when it comes to the billing department. I am in their system and have been for a number of years. Over a year ago I was on a medication that required twice weekly blood draws for a month. 11 months later I get a call early one Friday morning from a collection agency on ONE of those 8 blood draws, this was the first and only communication from a collector. Granted at this point I should be reviewing the service of the collection agency but it is the final thing the rep told me that leaves this review here. In short I was accused of losing, misplacing, throwing away and/or ignoring a bill from MuirLab. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt I never received one. Not only did I not receive a bill, I never received a "second notice" or a "final bill" or a collection notice for that matter. I also know I do not owe a dime because I have both primary and secondary insurance. MuirLab should have known this because they saw me 8 times in one month and it seems 7 of those bills went through just fine they somehow decided this one After the heavy accusations leveled rudely against me I not so nicely informed the collection jerk that I was fully insured to which he says "oh really, this claim was never billed, they don't have your insurance info." Um, they did the seven other times that month. This representative then tells me as a courtesy to ME he would bill my insurance to which I informed him it was not a courtesy to me but to MuirLab as I have no way to actually submit a bill to my insurance. He argued this courtesy issue. Before I hung up I asked for his assurance that 1. this was being taken care of and 2. there would be no report against my credit. Of course it was being taken care of (good answer). But, he told me, and yes this is a quote that "they have an agreement with John Muir Health to not report accounts until they are resolved or have a refusal to pay BECAUSE MuirLab frequently screws the bills up or fails to submit them all together." (not so good answer). Now, I erroneously assumed the issue has been straightened out and 6 weeks letter get a written letter saying SECOND NOTICE followed by "we have repeatedly tried to contact you." Well, let's see, the only communication I ever had was the phone call from the jack*ss ... let's just say they got a nice letter in return thanking them for humoring me that evening.

I recently decided to change Primary Care Physicians and alter my center of personal medical operations from Berkeley to greater Walnut Creek. Earlier this week, I had my first Doctor's appointment, and of course a full blood test is part of the preliminary evaluation. I'm now within the John Muir Medical Group and it was pretty easy to go from the Doctor's office one day to an early morning appointment at MuirLab the next. This branch is the most convenient to the house and there are others that have weekend hours. In this case, I was #4 for the morning and was in and out in around 15 minutes. the folks here were also friendly and efficient. And after the obligatory 10 hour fast I was happy to move on to breakfast. So why 3 Stars instead of 4? I can't honestly say that "I'm a Fan" of having my blood drawn and for what it is, the experience was "A-OK".
