I have been taking my niece and nephew here for swim lessons. We are on week 2 and while the pool is lovely it is chaotic. As someone who was not at all familiar with the facility, there are no signs directing you where to park, where to enter or where the pool is located.Once inside there was no information on where the swim lessons were other than being told to go to the pool. The first week, I asked the teacher who was in the pool if I needed to check the kids in or how we get started. She didn't know had to ask so we wasted their lesson time getting things sorted out. They had set up tandem lessons for the kids rather than at the same time which was different from the email we had received. Then week 2 of lessons they switched instructors on us with no notice only saying the other instructor wasn't there. On the positive side, my niece loves working with Derek. The instructors have tolerated my nephew's half hour of screaming and protesting.

I would love it. But i feel like there is a unwritten plan. I do not feel included. Almost, if i am an uncomfortable unconvince. For the price it should feel way more inclusive. Some of the seniors are very entitled and rude. I only have a limited time to work out. A couple of older gentlemen have told me, "i cannot use the equipment because they "planned on using it". Not cool. Not acceptable. I can't tell grown adults how to act. My son is doing swim lessons there. I want to n be comfortable doing classes here. We are here to stay. I want to feel more comfortable

Great facility but really need to expand the hours back to pre pandemic close at 4 p.m. on weekends is not really acceptable.

Ever since they got rid of the Sauna during covid, a d started closing at 8pm (because of covid) I really can't stand the place. They don't have enough leg machines either. I'm cancelling my membership.

So there hottub is broken, empty, no date on when it will be working... they've removed the sauna and the racketball courts inside. The skatepark many years ago as well. It has been a place I've gone to since I was a very young child for child care and has been on a steady decline. Sad to say. Even the childcare is OVERPRICED, at 36 PER CHILD PER MONTH. At $6/per hour per child the maximum $36 monthly is per child NOT per family and thats over $100 additional a month, if i want to bring my kids during workout friendly childtimes which are only M W F 9- 11am... won't allow you to switch which child can attend the childcare as part of the $36/monthly threshold. I am part of a family membership for which I am grateful but this facility is the only option locally with a pool. The pool is not child friendly and they ALWAYS have the lap lanes up, even during "family swim" which only allowd my small children and I to wade around the stairs or one length of the pool. They've been twice (ages 2&4) and are already getting very bored and prefer to play in the hot showers over the pool it seems.YMCA you can do SO MUCH BETTER????

Was in town from Florida and wanted to work out someplace besides hotel gym. Got up early, 6:30 am, to try and get day pass at the Y in Pleasant Hill. I had been a member many years ago when I lived in the area and liked their facility. Walked in and woman at counter asked if I needed something. I asked if possible can I get a day pass she flatly said no we don't do those and went back to her stapling and paperwork. No "unfortunate we don't do that anymore" or offer any other suggestions. She didn't even inquire if I had interest in joining just said no we don't do those anymore and went back to staring at paperwork. I just stood there and then said thank you have a nice day and left. She couldn't even muster the strength' to say that. Listen times are tough and by the limited hours the Y is open I can see it is for them as well. Maybe take a look at who is representing you and how and what they say. It isn't you don't do day passes it is how it was conveyed to me. Don't make people feel like that. A little empathy goes a long ways.....thought that was what the Y was about

For a gym in the Bay Area with a heated outdoor pool, this gym is dirt cheap. They have many classes and a modest sized facility. The locker rooms are kept relatively clean. Big pluses: - the pool is heated to 85+ degrees (its warm!) - lots of natural light throughout the facility - lots of classes ranging from Yoga to Zumba - clean and well-maintained facility Some negatives: - no swimsuit spinner, so you are bringing home a wet bathing suit - too few treadmills, so you'll have to wait for one in the evening - only two bench press benches

I had registered for a Zumba class with Beatriz Vela at this location, within a month of class I was very disappointed with her unprofessional ways, therefore, I had to quit and cancel my registration. Mary Shen

Great gym!Not so great sauna as of the last time I went. It smells, it’s too small, the wood is deteriorating and the whole thing just needs to be replaced with something new.The gym equipment is top notch and always maintained. The pool water is usually way too chlorinated so it hurts my eyes whenever I open them in the water.

The Y is great, it's never crowded when I'm there, the staff are friendly, plenty of parking, and the members are nice.

I'm one of the few African American members at the gym. The manager is not the most friendly and welcoming in my opinion. I think her name is Laura - she has an office right by the dance studio. However all the other associates are very helpful and wonderful. Great gym otherwise.
