“Very nice winery. The scenery is amazing. We did a tasting and it was a wonderful experience. David M was super friendly and knowledgeable. The wines were quite good and reasonably priced. Honestly, it was much better experience than the ones we had in Napa. Definitely will come back if in the area.”

“Back in October 2022, I planned a romantic getaway here for my wife and I to celebrate our anniversary. We stayed in the premium suite called Gray Pine with our own designated parking space. The great thing about the premium suites is that they are located in a separate building and provide that much more serenity and quiet. This was our first time visiting and staying at Eden Vale, and I will say that both David and Karen go above and beyond with answering any questions or concerns. For my introverted self, I was happily content with the daily breakfast delivery of homemade vegetarian breakfast delivered to our deck location for that perfect blend of privacy meets sleeping in. Sometimes you want to eat bfast together, but not necessarily get dressed to dine with other guests. I do value that they provide vegetarian options and will ask about any dietary restrictions. These are small details that make the best experience. There's also a shared kitchenette between the two suites with a fridge to put any leftovers or drinks, etc. A lot of the room amenities are digital and very easy to use (at the click of a button). Clear instructions and plenty of space/indoor lighting/accommodations. I found the room to be cozy and romantic. There was a little kissing decor piece that I took a picture of just to add to that overall love feeling. Of course, the private deck with robes and a deep couples soaking tub was amazing. We would often go out there in the middle of the night with our cheeto puffs and wine glasses to soak in the bubbles while looking up at the night sky. So peaceful! If you check their website prior to reservations, they often have weekday specials going on where you could save a healthy amount on the daily rate. You can also add on enhancements to make the stay memorable. There's a cute little pond on the grounds with a boat reminiscent of a scene out of The Notebook. We didn't take the boat for a spin, but just looking at the landscape gave me those happy couple vibes. Honestly, the only negative we experienced during our stay in 2022, was that the bed seemed off kilter. It didn't seem level. Laying on it with my head feeling as if it was positioned lower than my body kind of gave a headache, but we did bring this to the attention of David and Karen. I would recommend this Bed & Breakfast to anyone wanting to experience a new landscape away from the bustle of city life, but still within a reasonable drive to Placerville, El Dorado Hills, and so forth. Thank you for reading!”

“When my husband passed away unexpectedly it was really difficult to find a place to have his celebration that wasn't super expensive. Not only are their rates good they also have a full bar with great bartenders but a full kitchen. Proceeds go to supporting our local vets.”

“Their wine is nice! Cab Franc and Picpoul blanc are top notch! Took a star off for the unwelcoming attitudes of some of the employees, I would expect more hospitality, especially as a wine club member.”

“This place is magical. Very pretty and very secluded. Deanna the owner is super sweet and will help and give ideas if needed. We had a family wedding this early fall for 150 people. They had a bar server and two young kids helping throughout the event. We highly recommend Fausel Ranch.”

“We had our wedding here in July 2023 and we got so many compliments about how gorgeous this location is and we couldn't agree more. The venue and cabin space is just serene and you feel like you are secluded from everything. We got to bring in all our own vendors, but the staff we worked with here was just wonderful. Linda and Patricia were so accommodating and friendly. We loved being able to bring in our own keg to the bar. They created our bar sign based on our requests and worked with our day of coordinator so well. We also loved being able to rent out the cabins and stay on the property the night before and the night of our wedding. We would absolutely do it all over again and we wish we could relive our perfect weekend! Thank you!Photos are by uvVisions Photography.”

“The El Dorado County Fair occurs annually on the third Thursday of June through to Sunday. This year's 2023 fair ran from June 15-18. The theme was Country Nights and Carnival Lights... all day and night. I've been attending this fair for quite some time. My favorite events to watch are the livestock auction, horse riding drill team event, and the John Studebaker wheelbarrow racing. All of these shout out "community" and is unique to the area. I enjoy watching the auction and seeing the youngsters show their animals... pigs, turkeys, goats, rabbits, and Angus cattle. Plus it's pretty neat listening to the fast talking wise cracking auctioneer. The wheelbarrow barrel racing is a signature event unique to this fair. Yup, the race is named after the auto manufacturer. Contestants run an obstacle course pushing a wheelbarrow and filling a gunny sack filled with dirt. There's even a water hazard. Fun fact as a young man, John Studebaker made his way to Placerville to gold mine and ended up making wheelbarrows instead. With his hard earned money, he moved back to the Midwest to start manufacturing automobiles with his brothers.Must try food: +The local chapter of the 20/30 club makes a pretty awesome tasting taco. Slightly fried crispy shell tacos. And at $5, it's a bargain compared to the other food stand vendors. +My other favorite food vendors that were locally based was the Love Birds Coffee stand. They sell coffee drinks , doughnut, waffles, cookies, and Krispy treats. The baked goods are all homemade and hefty sized. The prices were a bit cheaper than the other food stands. I had a flavored iced coffee... delicious!!! +Some folks that we shared a picnic table with raved about another local vendor... Holy Grail Grill. The pulled pork soft tacos were outstanding! 3 for $12.Not to worry the fair had a ton of carnival food vendors...corn dogs, funnel cakes, Chinese food, soft serve, icees (including the over 21 versions), BBQ... you name it. Parking:There is no fairgrounds public parking lot. Parking is at the library. From there, a free shuttle drops off at the front admissions gate. They come around often so the wait time is minimal. The shuttle is handicapped accessible and has air conditioning. Admission: General admission is $12 and senior (60 and over ) is $10. They allow in and out fair entry, just get a hand stamp before exiting.”
