You can fill up here before going up to the Rubicon trail for some semi decent quality fuel. Anything beyond this place is questionable quality fuel i think.

For a gas station to have clean bathrooms it's amazing! This gas station didn't just have super clean bathroom but amazing service!

On the way back to San Francisco from Lake Tahoe, we needed gas. The roommate and I normally refuel closer the Sacramento, but one of our passengers needed to use the restroom, so we pulled over in Placerville on Monday, December 24th around 2:30pm. Prices per gallon that day if you pay by credit card were: $3.699 regular, $3.799 plus, $3.899 v-power. If you pay by cash, prices per gallon are 10 cents cheaper. I don't know why this place is called Proper Fuels, but I swear, we were basically at a Shell? At least the sign said Shell. So I guess if you go here, you're basically getting gas at Shell. They do have a Food Mart here, so if you want some beverages and snacks, you can pick some up. I think the roomie and I grabbed some red bulls and one of our friends grabbed an ice cream bar. I did use the restroom and that is to be avoided. So gross and dirty! It looked like someone has an a$$-plosion! But I needed to empty my bladder for the long drive home, so I had to grin and bear it. Sometimes a girl has to do what a girl has to do. But be warned. It was really nasty. Fine gas station, but gross bathroom. Avoid using the restroom if possible.

One of the highest price gas stations I have ever had to purchase gas from. They are consistently the highest price gas in Placerville over the last four years. I only gave them the one star because they have propell and my wife drives a minivan that uses it, but even then the propel doesn't drop in price at this gas station as fast as it does at other propel stations with a 30 mile range.
