My husband and I called very last minute because our regular vet has no veterinarians on staff on a regular basis it seems and all surrounding vets had no appointments available.
Both our dogs were experiencing vomiting and bloody diarrhea the last 3 days. Slate Creek was able to get them in and taken care of so quickly.
All the staff, from the Receptionist, to the Vet tech to the Veterinarian were all so professional and friendly.
10 out of 10 highly recommend and will most likely we will be returning. ❤️

With this being a significant surgery and Marley being an older dog (14), I was concerned about how he would do. Dr Randy and his team was very reassuring and I couldn’t ask for better care for Marley. He’s recovered well and our pathology results were clear of any malignancy. It was evident to me that Marley’s wellbeing was just as important to Dr Randy and his team, as they were to me. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of our boy.

5020 Coyote Hill Rd, PlacervilleMy dog, Maia, loves staying at PDH! And if she loves it, I do too! Both the owners are great people and really love taking care of dogs, and it shows! I wish I had found them a couple years ago, but in my life everything happens as it should.
Every picture I'm sent while Maia is there, I can tell Maia is happy and having a good time. And when I'm there to pick her up she's not dragging me to the car wanting to rush home, cuz she wasn't happy stayin in whatever curfuffle she dealt with....which has happened with other sitters or boardings I've tried. And for me, and my weird life, the fact that Alicia and Jeremy are flexible with keeping Maia more days than I planned for is huge for me! Maia chose them to take care of her, as long as the pool is full, the treats are a plenty and she's treated like family and is allowed on the furniture with the peoples... shes happy as a clam. And, I know better than to let a husky review anything, cuz they are highly vocal, and all, but for me with Maia its her body language when she's around people that speaks more to me ... and with both Jeremy and Alicia, she leans in to being petted and smiles. Says volumes to me about Maia's opinion of them, and to me, makes every dollar I spend for Maia to be with them is well worth it!!!!!!!

You are not required to bring a chair & crate which can be the norm for many training facilities. That type of convenience is appreciated. Whether you want to learn agility, obedience, scent detection, or just loose leash walking, there's a class and instructor waiting for you.

3755 Kincade Dr, PlacervilleI recommend Uncle Matty to anyone that needs the very best training for their dog! My 2 year old, 85 pound Lab mix was out of control!! He pulled and lunged while out on walks, barked uncontrollably on car rides, barked at dogs and strangers walking past the house! We heard about Uncle Matty from a friend that hired him to train her dog. Matty came to our house right away and did a personality test on our dog. He's really amazing at training and interacting with dogs. A true professional. I can now take my dog on car rides without him barking aggressively. We are able to walk him again without pulling. We are still doing lessons and I'm so thankful, I've learned so much from him. My dog is a better behaved dog because of Matty!

Happy Tails Pet Sitting
3045 Sacramento St #494, PlacervilleI've been searching for a professional pet sitter for over a year, and had a great first conversation with the owner Tamara. She does pet sitting herself, but also set me up with a pet sitter in another town when I'm in that area. I was impressed with her contracted sitter during our meet and greet. When a last minute need for sitting in Placerville arose, I contacted Tamara and she was able to accomodate my request. Upon arrival I noticed that the facility was very well organized, safe and set up for multiple dogs. I noted that she is extremely experienced with dogs and well versed in behavior. She is very personable and walked me around and explained how her boarding works and the different areas for the dogs. Tamara made me very comfortable leaving my pet while I ran errands for the day. The facility is set up very well for overnight boarding too. My dog had a great time at Happy Tails with Tamara's Great Dane and other guests. I would definitely return. I also had the opportunity to leave my dog with Cheryl in Folsom and had a very positive experience. I appreciate the fact that Happy Tails is licensed and insured. Highly recommended.

Addy was highly reactive to dogs and Addy required Cherie doing some out of the box techniques to help Addy accept a dog being in her vicinity. I learned how to work with Addy better to aid in her being able to walk in our neighborhood with dogs being across the street or turning the corner in front of us. So grateful!!!

My pup Darla loves this place and benefits from socialization with other dogs, her size and smaller. She gets so excited to see both of them that it makes me feel so at ease with leaving her. Eden is so dedicated, you can just see what a wonderful place this is for your fur baby. I highly recommend her, they do amazing with the dogs.

The ladies that waited on us were so friendly and helpful, it's such a cute atmosphere tucked in the back and if you sit outside it's a pretty view of the creek. Such a thoughtful restaurant, they even have a bucket of reader glasses so people that need to borrow them can have an easy time to read the menu, my mom had forgotten hers at home so it was affordable perfect touch. The only thing that was a little disappointing is the price, it was around $50.00 for one lasagna and two sodas, they do give a few small pieces of yummy fresh bread, however a salad or veggies with the lasagna would have been nice since the lasagna portion was very small. It's worth paying more for such quality food, it just would have been nice to have a few fillers so you don't leave hungry after paying that much, however, I would still recommend everyone trying it since everyone that works there is so nice and we had a very nice time eating there.

He also got a root beer freeze and talked about it all afternoon, he loved it so much! I think it was the highlight of his day. He said it was the perfect blend of root beer and ice cream. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and it was okay, I should have ordered a burger. We got a box of fries and they were good and crunchy. I got the pumpkin pie shake and really liked it, it was creamy and had a good flavor. We got the kids nuggets for our daughter and she liked it.

Timmy's is not easy to find, but well worth the effort, It is located in a small complex on Main Street in Placerville near the Court House. The menu is very eclectic. I had the spicy prawn sandwich with a side of tater tots. Both were made fresh and served in a timely manner. The sandwich was flavorful and not overly spicy. The staff was informative and helpful. The prices were a bit high but well worth it for the quality.

2952 Carson Rd, PlacervilleLocated on Apple Hill, Boa Vista Orchards began in the early 1900s as a potato farm. Today, it has expanded to include a wide variety of produce and more! They offer a market, a bakery, a vineyard, and a deli, among other attractions.
When we visited Boa Vista Orchards, we arrived too late for lunch, but I had a hard time leaving the market without buying everything in sight! I ended up purchasing a couple of boxes filled with farm goods and have been happily cooking delicious meals with them since. Once you try fresh farm food, you'll notice a significant difference in richness and taste compared to supermarket products.
If you're planning a visit, I highly recommend trying their ciders. They have a cider tasting counter where I experienced pomegranate cider for the first time, and I absolutely loved it! it!
