Cozy country house just outside of Placerville. Nice rooms with a large coffee selection and a lovely common area. Self check-in which is always nice.

My honey and I needed a getaway and this historic gem did not disappoint. We were greeted with freshly baked cookies and a gorgeous cozy suite that made us feel like we were world's away from the stresses of modern life. The suite was impeccable and we loved the jetted tub and the ultra comfortable bed. The owner brought a delicious breakfast to our door in the morning which was the icing on the cake of our stay. We will definitely be back and highly recommend to anyone looking for a bit of peace and tranquility and comfort ?

My stay here was amazing! The house was beautifully decorated for the holidays, and my room was warm, cozy, and well cleaned. My dog enjoyed exploring the property and we were only a five minute walk to Main Street where there are plenty of shops and places to eat. Tom was very communicative and friendly and breakfast was delicious! I would definitely stay again!

Had family coming to Placerville and Tom reserved a room on a week's notice. He makes a wonderful breakfast and the house was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Will always use Glen Morey!

The Glen Morey Country House B&B is funky and quaint which I love. The Stirling room where we stayed had a library of old books which was fun to look at. The breakfasts are great. Make sure you sign up for them. We got fresh squeezed orange juice with eggs, bacon, or sausage along with fruit salad and a not too sweet treat. We sat on our porch with funky twig chairs that broke under my skinny son's butt. I would have given this B&B a better review but we went during the heat of summer and the AC unit was barely functioning. We were sweating all night. If you come in the summer, bring a fan! We had a useless shower head as well, but the owner was quick to exchange it for something much better. We thought there was a ghost or someone knocking on our door at night which kept us awake, but it was actually the twin bed's headboard clanking against the wall every time my son moved. This was an easy fix with a pillow wedged between the wall and headboard. The owner was nice trying to exchange our noisy AC unit for a quieter one, but like I said the quieter one didn't work. The owner has a menagerie of pets, one dog and 3 cats which is fun for animal lovers or kids. The setup of the house is a little confusing at first. Make sure you don't want into the owner's house by mistake like we did. Look for rooms with your name on them before entering. The lock system is pretty easy to use once you realize you have to tap the screen to get it to light up. Lastly, there were some sweet treats waiting for us in the room which I love. Who doesn't love a surprise treat? I would come here again without my boyfriend, but I wouldn't come with him because he was not excited about paying for a hot room. PS the bed was comfy and I'm a bed critic. One last thing, the location is a bit tricky to find down a narrow lane that doesn't look plausible. Just know that you are in the right place. The staff is friendly and helpful.

below is a copy of a text message I sent to the owners two hours before I checked out of Glen Morey House Inn after a one night stay June 24, 2023. They never even bothered to respond.I hope if you are staying in the Placerville area you find more pleasant accommodation.I want to say that I enjoyed my breakfast this morning and my hot bath last night. However I'd need to express my complete dissatisfaction with several other points related to my experience. Allow me to list the reasons why I am so disappointed. The mattress on our bed is so substandard it was impossible to get a decent rest let alone a good night sleep. It feels very old and should have been replaced ages ago. The pillows provided are also old and worse, they are flat and insufficient to support one's head or neck which further added to our poor quality of rest here.Next, I got up this morning to use the toilet and was almost foisted off by a toilet set that was not connected to the bowl. My traveling partner tried to reattach it but I would not trust it with any future guests.Further I tried to make a cup of coffee and even though I selected the capsule option my cup overfilled and while trying to remove it from the coffee maker I severely scalded my hand.I feel that a $200 room experience should not be one that's uncomfortable, restless and presents hazards to the guests. It's disappointing to spend money to get away and relax and not be able to do so.
