The first year we used them they were great. Paid nearly $500 but got a large tax refund. That would have been 5/5. But then last year we got a new person here who seemed really confused. We kept asking questions and no one knew what was going on. Turned out we paid $700 for them to tell us we owed $6,000. Later we found out (from someone else) we would have owed a lot less if they did the standard deduction instead of itemizing everything. You would have thought these "tax experts" would have known that but nope. Thank god my husband's job has started actually taking taxes out of his paycheck so this coming year we'll just use Turbo Tax.

If H&R Block doesn't raise their rates again, I will come back to HR. 2020 I paid $395.00 for fees, for 2021 fees are $440.00. There will be a point to where I will go to another tax preparer because you have priced yourself too high for the simple service!

Until the 2015 Tax Year, I prepared my own taxes (I enjoyed the challenge!)...but in 2015, my situation changed significantly, and I found I could no longer interpret the complexities of State tax code, not to mention Federal. That year, I made an appointment at H&R Block.The person whom I have worked with at the H&R Block nearest to me has always done an excellent job, and has treated me with courtesy and respect. I couldn't ask for more professional or higher quality service.
