Hello Kadi. My first review was for the appointment dated 5/4/24 and not 7/2/24:
When: Saturday, May 4, 2024 9:15 AM PDT
Where: 1061 East March Lane, Stockton.
I wasn't going to mention the 7/2/24 appointment, but since you have written about it in response to my May review. I will do so now.
7/2/24, Second visit:
I had an appointment with Carol at 3 pm. Due to a 3 car multiple accident on 99 & not my own, l was delayed 20 minutes. I called them when l approached the traffic jam. l arrived at 3:20.
I told Carol that l was getting the medium cornrow pony braid style. I only requested 1 thing. Please do not cornrow the front straight back. Please braid it is some kind of angle or some form of a curve. Pretty clear instruction.
Carol slowly braided the back. When she arrived at the front, she started to braid the cornrows straight back. I stopped her after the second cornrow and showed her the picture from above & another photo of cornrows not braided straight back. She said yes & started braiding them straight back. I stopped her on the fourth braid & again showed her the pictures.
She paused braiding for 15 minutes, looked perplexed & called Kadi. I explained what l wanted to kadi & she l assumed explained it to Carol in french. Kadi then asked me to show Carol a picture, to which l again did so.
Kadi never mentioned anything about hair volume or anything else. Which l have no idea has to do with the direction you are cornrowing the front of my shoulder-length hair.
I had Carol remove "5" cornrows that she braided straight back. She did so & then braided the front correctly.
The braids turned out just okay. Which is why l didn't mention them in a review, until Kadi tried to portray me as untruthful in my 5/2024, review.
Please note that, this corwnrow ponytail style took almost 6 hrs! We started at 3:30 & ended near 9:15.
I've never had a long cornrow ponytail, which l wear in a bun take longer than 3 1/2 hrs. Carol braids extremely slow.
Dear readers, the review of my 1st appointment in May, & my 2nd appointment 7/2/24 are accurate, & l have no idea why the owner said otherwise. Kadi presents as unprofessional & dishonest. If you do not believe me, please read the critical reviews by other clients on Google & Yelp who also included photos.

Hair braiding takes us who get it done back to our childhoods when our mothers grandmothers and aunts did for free. It's cultural and spiritual. Now we spend hours in the chair and pay the people who braid our hair a lot of hard earned money. Most of the time, we are satisfied. I usually am.
I am mostly satisfied with my most recent experience at Braids By Kadi. This is my fourth trip. The end result is sexy and looks so much better than the alternative! Will I go back? More likely than not. Will choose the same braider? Hell no.
Even though she is talented and works quickly. She hates her job and perhaps people too. She is so mean, rude, and heavy handed. My head is still throbbing and forget about sleeping throughout the night. The woman who sat before I did was so polite. She thanked, paid, and said goodbye to everyone. The braider, Flora, didn't even bother to turn towards her customer much less say goodbye. When another braider said to Flora that the customer said goodbye, Flora turned towards that braider and said she didn't care and rolled her eyes at the door the customer walked out of just moments before. What they didn't know is that I understood most of what they were saying in their native tongue.
When my fateful turn came, I made sure to thank and pay, but said no goodbyes. I'm very sensitive. I don't like to exchange and interact with people in an intimate way when both parties are not enjoying and agreeing. When someone's being forced to do something they don't want to do and suffering is usually the result. Maybe by the weekend I will be able to sleep the night through without taking pain medications. My advice. Go, but don't choose Flora as your braider. She will hurt you and be mean to you for no good reason.

Claudette is great- With age, my hair is thinning- I didn't think i could wear braids any longer. She worked with my thinning hair and created a beautiful style- my partner grinned when I walked into the room. And so professional. Thanks!

I recently had tree braids done by Claudette at Braids by Kadi, and I absolutely love them! The braids were done in about 6-7 hours, and they turned out beautifully. I've been a loyal customer of Kadi's shop for 3 or 4 years now, and I'm pleased with the service every time. The staff is professional, and the quality of their work is consistently excellent. I highly recommend Braids by Kadi for anyone looking to get their hair braided. You won't be disappointed!

I technically did not want to give 1 star. Took my son to get his locs touched up a young lady named laurel. We were told she knew how to do the touch ups. When i picked him up and saw his hair, I was outraged! First she did not wash his hair, second it looked like she just used Vaseline and twisted in her hand. They were NOT NEAT AT ALL. She dud a horrible job and I wouldn't suggest anyone going to her ATall. I would suggest she do her research and check out others work on how to do a loc touch up because she has no idea.

I have been coming to Kadi braiding salon for a few years and typically I am 100% pleased with my braids. But the last 2 times have not been on my pleased side. The service was with 2 different braiders for 2 different styles. The 1st style that should have been 4-5 hours, actually took 8 hours and then I still wasn't completed and then I had to return 2 days later to get finished. That service was with Carole. A few weeks later I had my anniversary trip to attend and wanted something simple that would last at least a month. I got knotless braids with Astou. The ends were to have curls and they initially were prior to leaving the shop. However, The ends started to unravel the very next day, the curls were gone & I had alot of hair that frizzed outside of the braids. I called & text the very next morning to get the ends took care of but I would have had to drive to Antioch instead of Stockton which is the location I got braided (I live in Sacramento). That wasn't an option for me due to having just drove back from Stockton and was heading to the airport in Sacramento that evening within 4 hours. Well needless to say, during my vacation my braids after being in for only (4) days look a total mess. The ends look a total mess. I had to wrap my braids in a bun the entire trip to avoid looking a crazy mess. For the $200 that was paid, I am not a happy customer with this 2nd go round with different braiders. If Kadi herself isn't available to do my braids I will have to just wait it out for her availability or wear my natural hair down.

My hair is beautiful there's only two things I had/ have a problem with. My appointment was at 3 pm .. we didn't get started until 4:40 pm. The second thing is I paid extra for knotless.. it's not knotless braids. I still paid the extra amount for knotless as it was 9:30 pm when I was leaving and didn't want to cause a fuss. I'll come back for another service but will ensure I'm getting the service I requested.

I love my Bohemian braids done by Astou! She is super sweet, very professional and I left feeling like more of a Queen! If you gave not tried Kadi's, you must.

I really enjoyed a reminder phone call and email regarding my upcoming coming appointment. I enjoyed my last braider!! Worth the money and she took her time. She was Quick wasn't distracted by other people or cell phone. I also met another young lady does make up! I can't wait to use her services too! Good energy and music on point!! I'm coming back
