One of the finest hotel resorts in Pismo is just a short distance away. The hospitality is exceptional, and the cuisine at Marisol is truly worth it. Enjoy your stay!
Rooms: Great suites! Always keeping up with renovations.
Nearby activities: Access to private beach, golf course(s) in the local communities, more restaurants and shopping in town and Avila community close by with entertainment, and general activities.
Safety: Yes
Walkability: Walk along the beach hotels path and more on the beach. Easy walking in either direction to restaurants or community.
Food & drinks: Goodly number of restaurant bars and cuisine.
Noteworthy details: Pismo Beach and Paso Robles are cities on California's Central Coast known for its wineries and many beaches. The Monarch Butterfly Grove shelters monarch butterflies that migrate to Pismo State Beach in the cooler months is a must see.

Location is amazing, but the my room was very gross. Upon arrival my wife immediately noticed the dead bug on the closet doors, okay that’s fine maybe house keeping missed it… well that’s not the only thing they missed, hair on the floor by the sliding door, wax or some other foreign drops on the floor in multiple areas how did you miss these when they are right in the middle of the walk way. So we notified the front desk immediately and she asked if we wanted it clean right now or wait for tomorrow. Well obviously I need my room to get ready for dinner so we opted for next day and she gave us some vouchers for the restaurant, cool! But as we come back from the pool on the second day we noticed the same things in the same places, well I guess this one housekeeper might need a check up with their optometrist. It’s really annoying when I have to clean my own hotel room after they have cleaned it. I’m not asking for spotless. All in all Kyle at the pool was awesome and very attentive, view is SPECTACULAR, but the rooms cleanliness… well at least the room I was assigned and paid extra for the very small “ocean view” was not up to par for the rest of the hotel. Room 510 if it matters.

Very classy hotel. Our room was clean, gorgeous, and had a nice side view of the beach. Staff were very friendly all around, especially the valet and front desk. We came to the Central Coast for a weekend getaway to celebrate my birthday. When I opened the door to our room, I was pleasantly surprised and excited to see balloons, cake, and a bottle of champagne waiting for us (I believe this is something you have to request/pay for when booking, but it’s still nice that the hotel has this option). The fireplace in our room worked great, so it was perfect for a chilly night.
Food & drinks: The Marisol restaurant right next door has a beautiful view of the ocean. Highly recommend dining out in the patio. The food is decent, but the drinks are strong (you’ll get your money’s worth for the drinks).

Hotel grounds pretty and dog friendly. But mattresses were awful. No rest for my weekend getaway! I could have bought a high end mattress for what I paid to literally hurt as I slept.
Noteworthy details: They placed us in our first room with a known plumbing issue. We had called maintenance without first hour of being in our room and get confirmed knew about it but they were still waiting on parts to fix. We repacked and got moved to another room.

This is a diamond in the rough....easily a four or five star hotel. The location is perfect and the views spectacular. The view from our room was of the beautiful pool with a backdrop of the Pacific Ocean. It was so picturesque. The room was wonderful and had its own fireplace which was lovely and cozy. The staff is top notch they take service to a whole new level. From the front desk we were greeted by Rakhi and Makennia, who were wonderful and made sure that our stay was perfect. The pool was quaint and relaxing with areas for both sun and shade and Aaron did a wonderful job taking care of all of the guests with a smile and great pride. We loved our breakfast each morning at Marisol where we received a five-star dining experience. The eggs were fresh, the bacon was sweet and delicious, the waffles were awesome and the french toast was a decadent delight. We also enjoyed a lunch and dinner there, that were equally wonderful. The hosts, Helen, Barbara and Sarah were friendly and warm and the Managers. Emily and Sheri worked so hard to make sure that each of the guests were well taken care of. The Filet and Ribeye
we had would rival any of the best steakhouses. We truly enjoyed the sunset ritual, where a guest rings the bell and toasts to the Sunset. Our Server, Eric, was awesome. He took great care of us and even helped us to pick some great sightseeing spots. This was such a relaxing and enjoyable stay and we cannot wait to come back! If you are looking to visit the Pismo/SLO area, we highly recommend The Cliffs as it will not disappoint.

We loved our room. The bed was super comfy! The staff at check-in, valet parking, restaurant, and gift shop were all incredible!
Noteworthy details: We enjoyed the evening stroll along the boardwalk in front of hotel and adjoining hotels. With the pool and lights make it very romantic.

We drove up from S.B. and stayed three days. The bed was very tall and my wife had problems walking and is short, she had a hard time getting up and into bed but the beds were very comfortable.
The front desk took a copy of my credit card and license. The next day, we were locked out, and my wife had to give them another card over the phone.
Then, the manager had to come up to the room and check the card. They had written down the number incorrectly. I was complimented with two drink vouchers.
The grab rale in the bathtub was very loose, and you could see rust on the inside.
Rooms: The beds are very tall but super comfortable. The room was clean, but the tub rail had come loose, and you could see rust behind the lower part.

The Cliffs is our go-to getaway! Imagine lounging by the pool, listening to the sound of the ocean, snacking on delicious bites, drink in hand. Everything you need to relax in on-site. You don't even have to leave the property if you don't want to. Or you can hop in the car and experience the nearby sites in San Louis Obispo or the quaint little ocean-side town of Avila. We also enjoy riding quads on the Grover Beach dunes! Wildly fun and exciting! Its our little patch of heaven in Pismo Beach.
