I've had beach bum as my property management company from 2021-2023 until I sold my unit there, and they've just been wonderful to work with. They're very responsive over email and phone, and they're just kind people who care about helping both the guests and the owners. Thanks you guys!

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PROPERTY MANAGEMENT CO. (See pictures please). My friends and I rented a home from this management co. via VRBO 12.30 - 1.2.2023. We arrived to the house to find dirty dishes in the cupboard (as if unwashed dishes were put away from a dirty dishwasher), furniture with sweat stains and unidentified bodily fluids (see pics), filthy walls and floorboards, filthy heating vent that had dust bunnies coming out of it, and in general disrepair with blinds that were old, foil antenna, etc. Additionally, the heater DID NOT WORK and the house was freezing. We called Beach Bum and they sent someone out right away to look at the heater. The guy informed us it was not operable and would need an HVAC person for repair. Beach Bum offered to bring 2 small space heaters for a 2 story house with raised ceilings and floor to ceiling windows, which was not going to be sufficient to heat the house. At that time, we phoned Beach Bum with concerns about the condition of the house. A Beach Bum representative (girlfriend of the heater inspector) came over and acknowledged that the house was in disrepair and that she normally checks over the cleaning jobs, but did not in this case. She also explained that a friend of hers cleaned it because the normal cleaner was not available. (In truth, she admitted that the filth was beyond one poor cleaning). She also stated that the owners were difficult to work with and had not been willing to invest in property improvements. She said she would be pulling it off the market immediately. TO TOP IT OFF, her boyfriend had to exit the house and the conversation because, in Beach Bum girl's words, "He is a GERMAPHOBE". We requested at that time to leave the home and/or have them identify a new property immediately. After hours of waiting and countless calls and emails, they offered us the house next door. In reality, it was too late. Our entire day was ruined with the stress of uncertainty and stressful correspondence. Our plans for that afternoon were completely derailed, and we had the burden of packing and unpacking again.We tried to work with Beach Bum properties directly and via VRBO. Beach Bum refused to offer any adjustments, including for the one night we spent in a filthy house with no heat. I am beyond disgusted at the lack of customer service, deceit, and lack of accountability with this rental company. Again, the property manager's boyfriend had to leave the house because he was a "germaphobe", and the manager herself admitted that the house was in such poor shape that they would take it off the market immediately. DO NOT USE BEACH BUM. They are total BUMS.

Please see Amy's review today 3/3/23. I will add that compounding this FIASCO with beach bum is that we had children with us for New Year. No heat, during a winter cold/rain storm. They did not even compensate us for the full day we lost sitting in a car in the rain waiting to rectify their terribly dirty, non heated rental. We have collectively rented from beach bum over the years- they have a monopoly on the coast. I would not have chosen them to rent from - we utilized VRBO who in turn lists BB's rentals. VRBO refuses any liability, which is a horrible business practice when you consider all the associated fees. For a nearly 3000.00 expenditure, you would assume both BB and VRBO would want to handle severe irregularities - they just want the money. We are very chill travelers. We can take a lot of things on the chin. This was disgusting all the way around.

We stayed in a beautiful 2 bedroom 2 bath condo a block from the beach in Pismo Beach, and it was perfect for 4 people! Had everything we needed, kitchen was well stocked, beds comfy, super clean. We will be back!

The location was wonderful, the house was in good working order. We did have a few issues with several screen doors not secure and fell out when slid open. Missing basic kitchen utensils like a can opener. Used the pull out couch and there were a lot of food crumbs in the couch cushions. The check in process was unexpected and not clearly disclosed in the air b and b information. It was a bit of inconvenience to have to go pick up and drop off keys. I was called same day to collect a pet fee. I was under the impression it was all included in the numerous 500+ fees. I was never instructed to contact someone to pay ahead. When I got to the property a gate code was needed which was never provided, so I had to call to get. There's two different instructions for check out on in a book and one on the wall. Each had something different. When I arrived to the office there were three females at desk all on the phone and all held up a finger to me to wait a moment. I did, as I heard them banter about a broken garage door. Once that was over I was told I needed to fill out paperwork before getting keys. Overall it was a good stay but I don't know if I'd stay in a home hosted by this service.

I wish I could say better as a landlord, but these folks are extremely disorganized and provided excuses and rationalizations instead of customer-oriented service.

My family has stayed in two of their rentals. We had a blast an enjoyed our vacation. Both houses were very clean and comfortable. The office staff is also super friendly. My family will definitely be using Beach Bum again.

Terrible. Never returns calls or emails. Changes details and specifics on rentals after the fact. Takes no ownership of issues and the completely ignores you. I would never list a property with them or rent something through them. But that's just my experience.

Had a wonderful trip to Pismo Beach. Great restaurants, wine tasting in Edna Valley. Our condo was amazing. Close to everything and very convenient. Thanks for everything!

I was going to write a review on the actual house that we rented which is 493 Dolliver st Pismo CA. However they require way too much information just to put a review. I'm going to start off by saying the photos they display on their website are Catfishing their customers. The photos online are so nice the home looks very clean and well kept. Funny thing is they charge hundreds of dollars for "cleaning fees" but the home is absolutely disgusting. First you walk in and your greeted by dirty walls and doors. Then you see the staircase and omg the carpet was NASTY there's no way the carpet has ever been cleaned. Maybe they should do wood floors. The walls are all dirty, full of scuff marks and dings. I understand this home is a rental and people mistreat it, but if the cleaning people were doing their job every time they cleaned it, it wouldn't have gotten that bad. You go upstairs and you see dirty sliding glass doors, furniture that is about to give up (coffee table is so loose if you put something on it it moves side to side, the entertainment center is drooping down where the cable box sits, lots of shelf's are crooked and unusable) that's just some of what I noticed. The balcony is dirty and to be completely honest I didn't even wanna hangout on any of the balconies because it was gross. I had to wipe the handles of the staircase and they were soo gross. I'm just not understanding where the cleaning fee goes. This home needs some deep cleaning! Just a FYI I've rented several beach homes (from other businesses) and never experienced so much discomfort from a home.

First off I want to say their prices for hoodies and crewnecks are reasonable and not expensive like most of the other stores. The head lady Bonnie was absolutely the sweetest person I have ever met. Her granddaughter was also very nice and let us exchange a hoodie we bought for our son for another size. We also had asked her about some of the stores closing earlier than normal due to we took a trip here in the winter months so not busy at all on the strip. One store in particular was closed although it said it was open till 8pm. The day before my sister bought a shirt from the store Xpressions that didn’t fit and we were trying to exchange and we would be leaving the next day. Bonnie went out of her way to express to us the lady of the store just had a baby and her husband would only be running it on weekends. Bonnie got the store lady’s personal contact info for us so we could contact her to hopefully meet with her . The next day Bonnie seen us on the strip and came over to ask about everything and if we were able to get ahold of the store manager. Its not everyday you find people in this world who will go above and beyond because they actually want to and care and not just for a paycheck. We appreciate Bonnie so much and we can’t wait to return to Pismo and see Bonnie again! Thanks ! (P.s we were able to get store credit for my sisters shirt from Xpressions)

I have yet another bad review to write about the management of the AirBNB I rented in Grover Beach. I spoke with the "owner" of Beach Bum who didn't respond to previous emails and then slapped a $25 fix fee to hang up a pool table holder when it was very obviously not hung properly to start. She claimed the housekeeper and gardener did not see anything in the lawn and that I was lying about water bottle caps, beer caps, a cigarette butt and joint left in the backyard when my dog had ingested one and threw it up the next day. I also have young kids. They would not refund my pet cleaning fee nor would they give me a discount of any kind. The woman was extremely rude on the phone, not accommodating at all or apologetic. I would've been happy with a $50 discount for the inconvenience. I will never rent from Beach Bum again. It was a HUGE BUMMER and unprofessional.

Bad telephone manners. Enquired about a staycation. Asked about cleanliness due to pandemic, etc. Was told try somewhere else if I worry about things like Covid. Wow.
