Our Corgi-pom had a foxtail stuck in her nose, and my neighbor Dr. Flores had tools small enough at the clinic to remove it. The nail trim wasn't great because the tech forgot her dewclaw that was starting to curl, apparently only seeing the other that had broken.Amazing Veterinary Care, not a great place for any grooming.

I'm very pleased with the care that my sweet cat Rosie received at Pismo Beach Vet Clinic. I called on Saturday afternoon as a new client and was able to get in the next morning with my old cat. Blood text revealed a worsening of Rosie's kidney disease, and sadly the best decision was euthanasia. The staff were all very efficient and kind. The doctor spent time explaining to me all the medical options and was very kind and compassionate throughout the whole visit. I like that this clinic is open 7 days a week, as care for our pets doesn't discriminate on what day care is needed.

Since initially coming to this clinic over 4 years ago where we saw Dr. Conn in a caring and communicative visit, it has been a steady downhill experience of service and care. This last appt was our first face to face visit since the more detached visits during the pandemic process. We came in for an exam/consult re our 14 yr old pup's skin infection. It was, from start to finish, an experience that was very impersonal and disappointing. When I first came into the waiting room to check in for our appt. no one greeted/welcomed us. The lobby was empty and there were three people at the front desk. No one looked up as they all seemed preoccupied with other tasks. (Which would be fine if they were in an office in the back rather than the front desk.) When we were placed in an exam room, Dr Flores came in with an assistant. She did not introduce herself or her assistant. Other than mentioning she might have seen our pup before, Dr Flores did not take the time for any initial pleasantries or inquiries about our pup's needs and the reason for our visit. She did not make any attempt to establish rapport with our pup and immediately started touching her all over her body in an "exam". While she was doing this I was trying to tell her the history of her skin infection which has caused her/us a great deal of suffering during this last year. Whether she heard anything I said was unclear as she did not acknowledge any of it. She certainly did not appear to be interested in what I had to say-or care about it. She did not visually inspect her ears, belly, eyes or paws. She expressed a concern about a "mass" she had felt which she said we should "poke". Initially confused, I finally figured out she meant do a biopsy on a long term wart. We had some brief dialogue about the need for such testing/tx where I wasn't sure how I wanted to proceed. She said she would have the assistant tell me how much it would cost, seemed somewhat impatient and irritated, and left the room. Of course it is understandable and expected as a matter of medical ethics that she would recommend her opinion of the most medically safe path. However, due to the abrupt way she expressed her opinion, I felt as if I had done something wrong rather than treated as the patient with legitimate concerns/questions. The whole medical exam/experience lasted 5-7 minutes. At 80 dollars for the visit, it had the feel of assembly line service. As someone who was in human service work for decades and used to train staff in customer service, this encounter failed on every level. Each patient deserves individual and attentive care and communication. I don't understand why people are in this business if they don't want to make the effort to do that or are simply burned out .

If I could give this place no stars I would. I took my puppy in for a grooming service and they “accidentally” cut off a piece of her paw. I expected everything to be taken care of because now I had to take care of changing bandages and give her medicine when I was just going in for a groom. They made me pay for the grooming service then Continued to black list me in their system for THEIR mistake. When I arrived to pick her up they brushed it off as if it was normal for a dog to get hurt during a grooming service. I will NEVER be coming back here again.

I had an emergency with my Aussie on a Saturday, and we were treated like a priority. They truly care about animals. My dog was treated with kindness and compassion as well as myself.

With a full schedule they were able to get me in the same day for an emergency operation while 11 other facilities in the area could not facilitate due to full schedules. They were great and you can tell they really care about the animals health and we'll being.

We have experienced nothing but great love, concern, thorough exams, lengthy consultations and follow up questions and conversations through email, and helpful diet tips from Dr Joel Conn and staff at Pismo Vet Clinic. We are extremely happy with their care of our puppy.

I have been bringing my 4 year old yorkie to this office since she was 8 weeks old. Dr. Walti has always been patient and kind, and all of the techs have been a pleasure to deal with. While they have had periods of time when it was difficult to get an appointment, I am happy to say I needed something minimal today and they squeezed me in the same day. I was in and out in less than 40 minutes even though I could tell they were slammed. Very appreciative of the great service!

Thank you for helping us with our dog in our hour of need! We were so very grateful that you were open on Sunday and were able to see us. Everyone in the office, including the vet, were kind, skilled and professional. The veterinarian, Dr. Conn, was so knowledgeable and skilled. It was our first time there. We are so very pleased that you all are in our community.

Always a great veterinarian service. In this case, it was an after hours, try to fit us in to diagnose a irritated left front paw on our dog. The paw had been getting worse for about a week and a half, and we decided to call Pismo after he wouldn't quit chewing and licking at it. They fit us in, very short notice, and our dog was attended to in a very short time considering the short notice visit. We have been using Pismo Beach Veterinary Clinic since we moved here over a year ago, and followed in my parents footsteps as they had been taking their dogs here for years.Very attentive, well trained and efficient staff will always make an effort for your situation, and the vets are excellent.

The care we have received at Pismo Beach Veterinary Clinic is outstanding. What I like the most is the kind understanding Dr. Conn has shown to me regarding my feelings in the care he provides. Not only does he provide excellent service, I can tell he loves animals and does the best he can to keep my pet family healthy and comfortable.
