I'm in grocery heaven. You'll easily fall in love with this store. It is gorgeous and a beach town attraction. You could have a girls afternoon here. They've even had whiskey tasting. There's a gift shop. For the love, check out the meat counter. You know, good girls love some good meat (well, I think the bad ones do too). Heck, all girls should get their meat on and this is the place to do it, even if people are watching. .....should this Yelp review be rated?

I get my morning coffee here most mornings for the past 5 years. Donna, Joel, Steven and Kara are awesome. The coffee is always delicious and just the way I like it. There are several big chain coffee houses within walking distance, but I prefer California Fresh over them any day!

Went in for a chicken pot pie. Obviously, by the name chicken should be the first ingredient. From the picture I uploaded you can see it a mashed potatoes pot pie with a smattering of vegetables and two small pieces of chicken. Bad form

Stopped in to purchase meat. And every time I frequent the store. There is always only one young lady working behind the counter. She always answer's all my questions and will give me suggestions on what to buy. Know matter how busy the counter is she acknowledges the customers and does her best to deliver speedy accurate and friendly service. With a smile. Kudos to her! Patron of many years.

California Fresh is my favorite grocery store in Five Cities! (Trader Joe's is a close second.) They have all the staples, a good selection of organics, reasonably priced and local produce, a great bakery, a huge deli, and a coffee shop/juice bar! There are tables to hang out at if you are inclined. The staff are friendly and helpful. I feel lucky that this is my neighborhood grocery store.

This used to be my go to store but recently there has been homeless people outside the store that you have to walk past to shop.they have security but they choose to turn a blind eye. Otherwise it a great store.

Absolutely horrible deli. Ordered holiday dinner. Worst food I have ever had. Tasted like it was weeks old. Stale and disgusting.

Went back today to try the sushi and did not notice until I got home that the ingredients included FD&C red dye #40, Yellow dye #5, Blue dye #1. Brown sugar and table sugar that you can taste and browning avocado. I thought I was eating healthily. The fried chicken I raved about two days ago was so dried out that it was inedible. Waisted $18. Timing. Perhaps someone needs to check regularly the food for freshness? After all that word is in the name. I threw it all out. Vote with your dollars.

I frequent California fresh several times a week. I love the freshness and quality of the fresh Salad bar. The variety and options are amazing I wanted to give a special shout out, it has been so exceptionally good and fresh. Today I purchased a pound of ground grass feed meat at Pismo Beach California Fresh Market location. An older confused gentlemen was helping me at the butcher meat department. I notice he never got the ground meat from the glass butcher frig in front of me but seemed a counter against glass frig on his side. I have purchased ground meat from other markets like Whole Foods and Ralph's and other markets and always seen a butcher use white or brown butcher paper to put meat on from the glass frig to be put the the weight scale for pricing. The ground meat did not go on the scale for about a minute he was picking on something over the counter which I can not see thru from my side. Then he puts the opened brown butcher paper with plastic on to the scale and then gets a very little peace more to make a pound from the glass butcher meat frig where I can see all the meats on display on my side of the counter. I never saw him get most of the ground meat from the glass frig wher I have my eye on the ground meat on my side of the counter. Why was the meat I got outside the frig and for how long. He gave me the package of meat and I walked away and after a few steps I notice outside the the meat pacakage had peaces of ground meat/blood outside where I put my hand on. I gave the meat package back to the same butcher and he said I am sorry. He put the package in a plastic bag and give it back to me and he did not change the brown wax paper with blood on it. When I got home and opened the package to make some meatloaf I notice it was in a plastic vegetable and produce bag same plastic bag the market uses in the vegetable and produce department. The writing on the plastic bag said vegetables and produce and did not say raw meat. I have never seen raw meat put in a plastic Vegetable and Produce bag from produce department. The only plastic bags I seen butcher use are clear plastic bags that putcher used with no writing on it like at Whole Foods, Ralph's, Vons and other markets that are safe for raw meat and for frezzing. I went back to California Fresh Market and talked the the store mangager Steven, Pismo Beach Location. I told him what I wrote above and he said what do you want! I said I would like to now why this happed and he said its normal for raw meat to be put in vegetable and produce plastic bags. The manage was not sorry and did not apologize he did not care or was trying to hide the problem. I have a bad feeling the meat that I returned went back into the meat glass frig. Seemed to me this was a returned from a another customer and the putcher tried passing this meat to me. Meat should go on putcher paper the plastic for the meat not to leak outside the package period. I will not buy ground meat at California Fresh Market again. This is the secound bad experiance I had the first was the really old smelly fish which I returned several times.

Everyone was so so nice. I initially just went in to buy a few waters for my hotel room but saw some gorgeous plants in their flora area. The Manager and floral associate were so nice. They wiped down every leaf and watered the plant before I purchased it. Such great service and refreshing to be around such nice people. Great prices on healthy plants too!

My absolute favorite store to shop. Selection is amazing from beer and wine to veggies. Probably the best meat counter in the area. Staff is super friendly and also an epic place to come grab some quick lunch. From burritos, burgers to a salad bar with mini corn dogs and soup. Definitely the perfect place to stop. Only complaint is I wish they had better prices on their beer and wine but the selection is AWESOME! Can't win them all!

good selection of meat and veggies. produce could be expanded abit. some items overpriced compared to wholefoods, but overall very comparable pricing. 4.5/5
