This vet is callous and unprofessional. He abuses his right to make outrageous guesses about your pets then turns into an angry teenager if you suggest anything different. I’m not going to dive into the many bad experiences that either I’ve had or am aware of- but you can guarantee the owner will respond something childish under this - stay tuned!

Editing after years. Compared to Santa maria vets for exotics, much better... but the doc lately seemed to be taking advantage of people who care about elderly pets and overall I've given them thousands of dollars over the years I've had my rabbit and no treatment was ever effective, no progress was ever really made, and i was given the advice to drive cross country with my elderly (then 8-9yo) rabbit rather than fly, which put him into stasis and a week of shock. When moving back i flew with him in the cabin on a spirit flight at 10-11yo, months after he had surgery for cancer and he was immediately fine . please don't do every expensive procedure they recommend. It's excessive. Get a second opinion if you can. Las tablas in templeton is my new go to... turns out incontinence the doc had me due multiple expensive tests for could've been fixed for a $30 senior cat litter box...

Can't even get a hold of them by phone! You'll be thrown into a "on hold" loop as soon as they answer and left there. Never mind, though, they don't have any availability anyways!

Dr. Max Conn and his team at Cat and Exotic Care were very kind and knowledgeable while handling and caring for my leopard gecko. They did a great job explaining the health issues and giving me practical advice to improve my pet care at home. Highly recommended for their expertise with exotic pets.

My Holland lop bunny, Sandy went missing for 6 days. She was found by one of my neighbors grand daughter who didn't give up on catching her, bless her sweet little heart. When I picked up Sandy she had quite a bit of ticks on her from the fields up on the mesa. The veterinarian here at this facility was so helpful and got me in the same morning she was found. They preformed a physical examination. She is healthy and no major issues. They removed all the ticks and did booster vaccines. Also gave her some medication and ointment. I am extremely thankful for Cat & Exotic care. They were quick to care for Sandy and her problems.

DO NOT BRING YOUR EXOTIC PET TO THIS PLACE.
The experience I had here was extremely unprofessional.
My animal was choking on an obstruction in his esophagus. I relayed this information over the phone during transport and also to the front desk lady.
I was told to wait until the examination was done and they would call me. Almost half an hour later. The doctor calls to tell that my animal has possible blood diseases and is emaciated from lack of feeding.
I again explained about the obstruction too which I was ignored.
When I physically stepped into the store to show them what I was talking about, I was again told that my animal was emaciated and had possible blood diseases due to the color of his gums.
When I explained there's no way lack of feeding was a possibility, and then explained his feeding schedule and again explained the obstruction in his throat, the doctor had no idea what I was referring too. I had to point out the massive lump in my animals throat to him. He poked at it a couple times and said it could be a broken rib but the real problems had been going on for quite some time. Then walked away.
My animal was then refused treatment until payment was provided which I could not provide in full at that time, and I did not qualify for their Care credit program.
My animal died in transit to the next vet.
I'm sure the "good doctor" will have some way to try and spin this in a response to my review to alleviate his part in this as he has done to others that left poor reviews. I don't care.
My animal was not cared for or diagnosed properly, I was accused (in so many words) of abusing my animal, nor was I listened too or heeded in any of the information I provided.
I will not recommend this place too anyone nor will I bring any of my other exotic pets to this place.

The team here will take good care of your Fur Babies (or Fin or Shell or anything else!) Just had our sister kittens spayed, chipped, and vaccinated. The staff called before and after to make sure everything went smoothly and our babies were doing well. Thank you Cat and Exotic Care!

I took my two pet mice Sammy and Penny here. It's very hard to find mice vets around where I live. The doctor was honest and fair with me when it came to my pets. It's very hard to come across people who are fair and are trustworthy. I recommend this vet.

Dr Conn and staff are wonderful and provide the best care and love for cats , I appreciate you and all my rescue cats thank you so much for spay and nueters so they would be set up right and healthy for forever homes ?????????????
