Central Coast surf school is the best! They provide you with everything you need to enjoy learning how to surf. Instructors Cris and Justin are really fun to be with while super professional. I took a few lessons with my kids (7 and 10yo) and we were all surfing and enjoying ourselves in no time. They also teach us how to be safe at sea and recognize hazards, which is really helpful, specially for the kids. Will be back for more when we’re back in SLO! Thanks a lot guys! From Isa and Andre as well.

I keep coming back to Central Coast surf school and always have a good experience! The owner suggests the best time to go out if you try to reserve a lesson when conditions aren't great, but they work with you if you don't have the flexibility to change times. Instructors Chris, Ethan, and Nathan are stellar and really exude the stoked surfing vibe.

I took my younger brother here to learn to surf. We had a great time and were able to stand on the board first day out! It was a lot of fun, very professional and even included boards and wetsuits. I highly recommend!

Chris was a fun teacher for two teenage boys! We had originally scheduled the lesson when it was raining and cold, he recommended rescheduling for the next day. The next day the weather was perfect. His primary concern was to instill a love of surfing so that they would want to continue learning. He succeeded, they want to go back and learn more!

Anthony was our instructor for the day. He was really friendly and made the experience enjoyable and safe. The online appointment system is convenient and you can ask questions with a quick phone call.

We had a blast!!! My friend and I booked a December class and then almost chickened out due to the thought of cold water but we went through with it and were so glad we did. Chris was our instruction. He talked to us about the weather and times for the best class and moved our class around to make it the best for us. He was supportive of these two older women (56 and 59) trying a surfing class for the first time. The class included wetsuits, boards, a pre-class stretch, basic instructions and then coaching in the water. He tailored the class and the timing to us (we took a break in the middle) and was super encouraging. The only down side was that the website indicated classes in Pismo and Avila and I could only find options in Pismo. I actually got up a couple of times (though I also fell off pretty promptly). We loved it so much we actually planned another trip, just to surf -- or try :)

Cat and Chris were amazing! We had checked out a few of the surf schools in the area and ended up choosing this one because of the price. I started to question whether we made the right choice but now know we did! It was the best price and we got a great lesson. The instructors were thorough and friendly. The entire group had the best time! The girls asked if they can go again next time we are here.

My friend and I really enjoyed our surfing lesson with Chris. He was patient & lots of fun!! We fed off his energy and thought the instruction he provided was awesome and complete. Plus - you can’t beat the price! Pismo Beach was also a great spot for beginner surfing.

Our 7 grands, ages 4-12, had a wonderful time learning to surf. The instruction and instructors were great for kids. Everyone learned to surf and wanted to do it again the next day! Surfing was the highlight of their visit to the Central Coast!

My son and I had a great experience learning to surf. The instructors made sure everyone caught a wave! Small group sizes made me feel extra safe even when I wiped out. Highly recommend for anyone looking to learn!
