We send our two dogs to Alex for both doggie day care as well as for boarding when we go out of town. He is great with both dogs, who have completely different personalities. They love going and come back on their best behavior. He is very patient with them, and has given us some helpful advice for our dog's annoying behaviors as well. We have one Pomeranian-Spitz mix (we think) who is still pretty young and wildly energetic and barks, jumps on the table, steals our food, etc. We also have one Chiweenie mix (we think) who is much older and grumpier and insists on sitting in any lap he can find. Alex is able to help both dogs find their doggie friends at his home, and they come back just as happy and excited as if they were kids returning from a play date. It has also been a helpful eye-opener for us, in that we realized that we could have higher expectations for our dog's behavior based on how well they behave when they return from their time at the Doggie Day Inn. Grateful to have found such a wonderful caregiver for our dogs!

How Alex and Erica get anything less than 5 stars is beyond me! We took our doxie Tulip today for her first day care and she had a wonderful time. Alex was so kind and professional and sent us tons of updates about how she was doing and all the fun she had! His plethora of 5 star reviews on Rover speak for themselves! Highly recommend.

My wife and I had been communicating with Alex for over 1 month. My wife didn't like that we could not go inside to see their facility where both our pets would be staying. After my wife emailed Alex to inform him we wanted to visit the home, Alex claimed he had an influx of clients and couldn't accept anymore clients! Scary to know that people would leave their precious pets in a facility that can't be visited!! I don't understand why people can't visit Doggie Day Inn?? What are you hiding??

I've been busy and I've neglected doing my duty in writing this review: I met with Alex to talk and consider whether I wanted to drop my dog with him. I asked him a few questions: 1) What kind of form or paperwork will you provide me as a receipt that I've dropped my dog with you? -He said he didn't provide any receipt 2) Do you walk the dogs -He said he didn't walk the dogs, it was too much of a liability 3.) What would happen if you lost my dog or someone stole him, how could I prove I gave him to you? -He had no answer 4.) I told him I was going to leave my dogs Fi locator / STEP tracker on my dog so it could record and report his location. ****Alex refused to keep my dog once I mentioned the STEP TRACKER**** I'm thankful ALEX REFUSED my dog. I found a place that agreed to take him WITH THE TRACKER ON and whom gave me a RECIPT . They had CAMERA'S so I could see what my dog was doing throughout the day so I was assured they weren't just locking him up in a CRATE.

We absolutely love Alex Luttrell, who boards dogs at his home, with its spacious backyard. Alex is truly a dog whisperer, and has a very gentle, yet firm manner with dogs. He went to the Bergen University for Canine Studies, and has extensive experience in dog training, although he primarily does boarding and doggie daycare now. Our dog does not care for large boarding places, but he loves going to Doggie Day Inn, where he gets lots of attention. When we pick up our pup, I enjoy talking with Alex, who always has such great insights into our dog's behavior. Alex is very good at communicating. He sent us pictures of our pup the first few times we boarded him, to show us how he was making himself at home! We are very grateful to have found Doggy Day Inn, and will never go back to large kennels for boarding or daycare.

A friend we trust highly recommended Alex at Doggie Day Inn. Alex is very kind, responsive, easy going and clearly understands and loves dogs. He made us feel at ease and confident and we are definitely very protective dog moms!! He is so gentle and gives our dogs their time to settle in and get comfortable. Our dogs are small terriers, both rescue dogs and can be slow to warm to new people, dogs and places. Over the past year our pups have gone to Alex six times, ranging from a day to 6 days. Alex has been reassuring and helped us manage our separation! They have been well cared for and I feel like it gives them good play experiences with other dogs and has allowed them to build trust outside of our family. We have also noticed it strengthens the bond between our dogs. We hate leaving them, but when we do Alex is our guy!!

We love DDI - Alex took care to work with our timid pups, make them comfortable and we have been very pleased with the strides they are making. I would recommend DDI to anyone who wants a homelike dogcare situation with people who are mellow, down to earth and who obviously love dogs.
