I live nearby and come here often with varying degrees of service outcomes. On this day, May 15th 2024, they really took the trophy for giving the worst experience ever.
I rushed from my doctor appointment to make it in before closing. I arrived at 2:20 pm. The lobby was full of people and both check-in kiosks were either offline or out-of-order. Had to check-in at the front desk--super rude, unpleasant, and read my personal info and tests so loud that the entire waiting room could hear my social security number, birthday, and what I was having my blood drawn for. Didn't even try to be discreet.
I realize I could have opted to go another day, but my doctor wanted a quick turnaround because of a change in my medication. She had to be sure I was fit enough to take the new meds.
I had blood tests to complete for two doctors. The registration-tech refused me service for tests from my PCP because he couldn't find them in the system, and said I had to have my paperwork. This is a strategy I've observed Labcorp staffers employ in order to get patients to leave and come back another day. But I'd just had my appointment and the tests were available at the Labcorp at the hospital. The Labcorp techs at the hospital actually entered all of my tests into the system manually so I could have these tests drawn in Pinole closer to home. I told the tech that I could call and get the tests re-sent right now; and while he tried to discourage me from calling, the wait was so long I called and had them faxed over before my name was even called.
Two people came in after me (were treated kindly) and were both seen, and out in a flash. In fact, most everyone in the waiting room (none of which looked like me) was treated courteously. I realize that some folks have appointments. I often have them myself. If there is a preference for appointments only, don't take walk-ins. Simple.
But I was forced to be the last one there in the waiting room when they really turned up the heat on the rudeness. I literally watched the drawing-tech throw my doctor's fax of my orders in the trash. He told me that I wasn't getting these tests completed today. I had already been in the waiting room queue for other tests that they actually did have in the system, but he didn't even want to draw those.
Note: **This was the second time I've had a rude encounter with this particular draw-tech. I remember him because of the uncaring manner in which he drew my blood that had my arm sore for a few days.
He finally took me in to draw and failed at two stick attempts. I then stated that I did not want him to draw me and if there was someone else who could remain professional and draw me. Unfortunately the someone else was the rude registration-tech that had already laid into me when I arrived.
I believe both of these techs to be unfit for this post, insensitive, without empathy, and demonstrative of gender/racial bias. If they could have gotten away with calling me out of my name, they would have.
When we say, "there is institutionalized race/gender/class bias baked into the healthcare system", this is a perfect example of what we mean. Employees hide behind doing the bare minimum in their post, while simultaneously exacting verbal and psychological trauma--and violent harm. The fact that they have it down to a science is what is so deeply troubling, and an indicator that they are quite aware of what they're doing. I would much rather a healthcare practice just put a sign up that says "we don't serve (insert group of people)" so that I can just go somewhere else; Rather than to go through traumatizing interactions like this.
I would not advise anyone to go to this location until they can address the severe customer service issues they have at this location. Until then, I will not be back to Labcorp as a whole.

This specific location won’t answer their phones on a Friday afternoon nor a Monday morning!

I would give 0 stars if I could. Only a 90 minute window with 1 staff member to do a urine sample is ridiculous. Currently sitting in the lobby with a full bladder, very unhappy. Terrible way that they go about providing their services.

*DO NOT USE LABCORP WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I'VE EVER EXPERIENCED, ZERO HELP.*
Had to report here through hire rite for a pre-employment drug screening and you only have 3 business days to complete, they don't tell you till after you confirm nearist location that all locations are by appointment only. I tried to use online appointment system but the results only show 3 sites based on zip code. I couldn't get anyone on the phone using the automated phone system.
Went to the location to try and get assistance with a list of sites/ other locations or to see if they could schedule an appointment for me or just give me availability at any other site with-in there system. I explained my situation and they were zero help, tech was rude and unhelpful just kept talking in circles have no list or info at all, just website, use the website, website/ appointment only I have no access, had bad attitude for a Monday morning.
If I could leave a review less than 1 ⭐ would highly not recommend any LabCorp service.

The staff is oddly rude for this location. I would definitely not recommend this location for anybody that I knew and Loved.

I have had great service at this location. With other labs temporarily closed, I am sure they are on overload.

This location has the most courteous, professional, experienced, and dedicated staff I have seen considering the busyness of their location. I saw countless people be met with kindness when asking when they were going to be seen next. It's good to know there are some companies that have employees who enjoy the work they do.

I didn’t have an appointment but Marilou was kind enough to fit me in. She was so nice. The wait wasn’t too long for a short notice appointment. She was beyond kind, professional, and accommodating.

It was my first time trying out this location because it is near my home and I totally regret it. Everyone I encountered was highly unprofessional and rude. They couldn’t figure out my lab order and then had an attitude when I corrected them and, of course, the person I corrected was the one to draw by blood and was rude and dismissive throughout the process. Totally unprofessional, do not recommend. Make the choice to travel further away if you can, avoid this place as much as possible.

Go elsewhere... everywhere else, but this dump. Been waiting for one hour already, could have long been done elsewhere. They set no expectations on the wait time.

The wait times are absolutely ridiculous. Labcorp, stop cutting staff to save a buck. Never coming to this location again

Policy and procedure needs to be reviewed. Don't understand why u still need to wait for ur turn just to pick up a test kit?
