2257 Broadway, Oakland“I haven’t felt a warm vibe in every shop on Piedmont and vintage stores can be kind of snobby sometimes but I’m happy to say that that frigidaire environment has NOT been my experience at Sunshine Prophecy. The vibe is super warm and inviting; There is ALWAYS good music playing; The employees there are always very patient with any of my (often MANY haha) questions; — AND I’ve never felt pressure to buy anything if I wasn’t ready. — That is especially important to me bc in order to budget I purposely do LONG leads on items I’m interested in. I might stop in once or twice and ask questions/do price checks before I finally treat myself and they always treat me like a paid customer. Clothes, jewelry, purses are cute. LOVE their witchy candles, herbs, and TAROT CARDS. It seems like the owner of this store had more of a “creative calling ” then just a bottom line in starting this business.”
“The store owner Marti is always so nice and welcoming to me. I love the earrings and necklaces and everything there. The store itself is beautiful and has many small trinkets.”

1038 University Ave, Berkeley“SIYA is a gem! This place isn’t comparable to any other Indian clothes shopping experience I’ve had. Found out about them from a family member who always has the best outfits. It’s my go to spot now. Their selection is fantastic, offering a wide range of high-quality options for all occasions. The owner is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and Sonu is super helpful—both really go out of their way to style you for the events you're shopping for. I was able to get several outfits for my brother's wedding and my best friend's wedding within a day, and every piece was unique and beautiful. They even tailored everything, and the fit was perfect. One blouse needed to be fixed again and they were so kind and quick about it. They truly care that their clients are well taken care of. The prices reflect the quality you’re getting—well worth it! I also found gorgeous matching jewelry to complete my looks that the owner hand selected and was patient while I figured out what I liked best. My husband got three outfits and couldn’t be more excited to have high-quality Indian clothes, from a hassle free, fast, and easy shopping experience. Highly recommend SIYA for anyone looking for stunning Indian fashion with top-notch service!”

1501 Webster St, Alameda“Lan Vie designs are in my top 3 for the Bay Area. I've been shopping here years, so this review is long overdue. What I've always loved about Lan Vie, both as a designer and a boutique, is that the fashions change often, everything is well-made, and you find lots of day and night ready options. My first years shopping here were looking for stage wear, mostly dresses, as a performer. Then, as I toured, I needed fabrics that packed and traveled well. They always have lots of pants / jackets like this. I love how the owner is the designer, and how she knows what we want, and even shifts her designs based on customer feedback. Highly recommended to find something original for a special event or weekend. Since the owner changes things up, sometimes you'll find an abundance of edgy designs, other times, bright, and sometimes formal. The pieces mix and match well too. So I recommend stopping by often to see what's new.”
“ODP is a quality clothing line from my hometown of Oakland Ca it's a amazing line because not only can you wear the brand the CEO also does things for the community she has backpack and free haircuts for the kids and I met the CEO when she was starting the brand and I've seen it go from shirts and hats and hoodies to a full expanded clothing line and I'm plus size girl and she's always had sizes from the kids to 4x and that was a major plus for me!”
“Pretty penny is my favorite! Every visit I find an incredible selection of clothes, jewelry and accessories at totally fair prices. The owner, Sarah, is always friendly and helpful.”

1722 San Pablo Ave, Berkeley“Adorable thrift boutique run by an extremely kind person. I got two stylish shirts in great condition for $5 a piece, and Amberina also provided high quality advice about personal defense and being careful in the city. She mentioned that soon she will be reorganizing to make room for local artist to sell their works in her shop.”
“I was looking for a nice African outfit for a vacation trip, found Lola's African Apparel and made an appointment. She was awesome!!! She explained to me what actually would look better for me and was spot on. Also created the matching head wrap. I was very pleased and got lots of compliments! I highly recommend her!!!”
“I absolutely LOVE this boutique. The clothes are made for comfort and flexibility. I invested (and continue to invest) in so many pieces because the clothes seem as if they are made for me. Always long enough, hits the curves right where I need them to…it’s amazing. The flexibility factor is real… I have one dress that I’ve worn in a park with tennis & a Jean jacket, to the club with boots, and to an evening event with different shoes & accessories. Her clothes are pragmatic, flexible, and fun at the same time. You can turn one item into many looks, expanding your wardrobe in ways unimaginable. Additionally, everything is made to build upon others so the tones, and materials tend to mix well. On top of everything else, her staff is AMAZING! you feel nothing but warmth when you walk in this store. You’re definitely in for a treat if you happen to run into Taylor! Look forward to great conversation and laughs. Super excited for my up-coming visit to grab more summer essentials! Thank you Taylor for sharing your vision and skills with the masses!”
“Fantastic Store! The customer service is so great. The quality and uniqueness of the clothes are worth every penny. I travel far to get to this store. I know of none other that compares that is a locally owned small business.”
“Bay Thread helped me on a very tough project involving the impossible, cutting billet-proof material for a private security company. She was very timely, and beautifully thorough. Even though the R&D never reached completion, the time spent working with her was money well spent. Every penny. She is an angel.”
“The owners vision and style are a mirror of my own and I felt IMMEDIATELY comfortable upon stepping in... Her energy is so kind & sympathetic with a hint of feminine panther-ism... YOU GO QUEEN. YOU GO.”

1527 Shattuck Ave., Berkeley“Today I stopped in because I saw these beautiful tree of life necklaces. The sales associate was so lovely. She helped me find the right size (we ended up going with a set of earrings) and was showed so much patience as I carefully made my decision. I also bought an adorable wrap dress from India with a fabulous print. I can't wait to wear it this weekend. It's right next door to the Post office so I can wait to make my weekly visits to check out their new stock!”
“Wow! What a fantastic store with such a gracious, welcoming proprietress! I can't believe it took me so long to discover all Patrizia's has to offer. She carries so many of the amazing European designers that my girlfriends are looking for. Yes, the clothing is pricey, but justifiable--the clothing is unique, high quality, and not mass produced. In this era of fast fashion, this is exactly the kind of store we need! Not only do we need to support small businesses, but we can discover clothing options that truly celebrate our individual beauty and uniqueness. The owner has timeless, exceptional taste! Thank you for such an amazing experience! I'll be back!”
“Got a nice qipao for my Chinese tea ceremony. Sasha's house a wide variety of designs that fit within any budget (from $50 - more than $300). She kept me and my mother company throughout the whole thing and I never felt rushed to buy at all. Highly recommend”

2111 Vine St D, Berkeley“Quite simoly, one of my newest favourites.. The sheer confidence of someone making oversize but comfortable clothing with prices that reflect both maturity with class. This is the brand's flagship and original store an I am a fan. This store is better stocked and more varied than the Palo Alto store. I found the Russian sales woman very smart, honest when some colours did not suit me and well informed about other brands that I may like. Bryn Walker is a wonderful brand.. not for the faint hearted.. oversized and timeless .. very distinctive and tres tres chic..”
“I would highly recommend coming here! The owner Michael is nice and the store is really clean. All of the clothing was sorted by color and it was very well organized. We liked looking through all the racks, all of the clothes were great quality and there was something there for everyone. The prices were also extremely fair. I will definitely come back the next time I am in Berkeley!”

1506 Webster St, Alameda“Lovely little space that I've visited twice now on my random travels through the bay. The main person that has been at the counter the 2 times I have gone in is wonderfully kind, super engaging, and very genuine. They even took time to write down locations for me to check out both for other metaphysical shops, and also for vegan food recommendations. I love their collection of incense (especially the Madre Sagradra line), and even though a good amount of it is pretty costly, I prefer to support local business instead of buying through the supplier's website. This shop offers a small amount of clothing, crystals & stones, jewelry, books, Tarot cards (and readings), herbs and more. I will make it a point to visit, support, and restock my incense collection whenever I'm in town.I do have one complaint, and that is regarding the sweetgrass I purchased here. It is not regular sweetgrass - it is very hard, not grassy at all, and doesn't produce the best (or much of any) scent. Not sure where their sweetgrass is sourced from, but I highly recommend a different source.”
“This work out is perfect for my needs right now- low impact and high intensity, small muscle movements to build and, apparently, sculpt ??Beth is awesome, today was ???☄️?”
“This is the cutest place you will ever find tucked away in the heart and soul of Oakland. This boutique has EVERYTHING from jeans, skirts, dresses, maternity, business casual to evening ready. Don't be fool by the store size, it took me two days to comb through every rack. Iman (store owner) is super sweet and very helpful! Happy shopping”

“Great Indian store!! The lady is super nice and the Indian suits are beautiful. She also altered me and my daughter's suits perfectly. Plus they have fresh produce, frozen food, sweets and so much more!!”
“This is always a shop I enjoy visiting when in the area. They have such a great selection of funky and classic clothes and their sale racks have reasonably priced pieces from brands such as Johnny Was. I would say overall, this is a high-end store, so expect to spend big bucks if you're not only checking out the sale racks outside. The staff are friendly enough and make sure you know that their clothing looks good on you.”

979 Moraga Rd, Lafayette“I have been shopping at this boutique for several years. The atmosphere is fun and friendly, Shari and Chari (I have no idea how to spell their names) are always there to select just the right items for you. They are funny and welcoming and immediately put you at ease. The variety of clothing is designed to work with all body types! Everything is unique and customized. I highly encourage any woman who is looking for a great shopping experience to GO and enjoy! You won’t regret it! Thank you Harper-Greer for being a great and positive addition to the Lafayette community!!!”

I love the sweaters and shirts I bought here! Whether you're buying for yourself or for a significant other, then Oaklandish is the Go-To for Bay Area clothing. “I've been eyeing some of the dresses displayed in the window for months and finally decided to purchase a dress for my wife on our anniversary. I couldn't be happier with the service and price of the dress. I was also surprised to receive a lovely gift bag with my purchase! My wife loves the gift and I will definitely be back to shop for her! Thanks!”
“Finally made my way over to McMullen and it exceeded my expectations! The store is truely stunning, everywhere you turn phenomenal taste. We came over to get a dress for my mom for my wedding and the ladies picked out some wonderful pieces I never would have thought she’d try on, exceptional service. I couldn’t believe have much inventory they had, we could have been there all day and left with a whole new fall and special occasion wardrobe. Feels like I finally have a place to shop in person in the Bay Area again, can’t wait to go back!”
