I tried to walk in four times now. I live just around the corner. They decide based on your needs. I wanted to get a gel manicure before multiple times and not once they took me in. This time I just needed to remove my old gel manicure and they said they don’t have time?! You literally need to wrap me in a foil and leave me soak without doing anything to me for 15mins. 10 minutes follows with quick electric file and you’re done and you don’t have time? I give up. I really wanted to go to this place as it’s close to my house and reviews are ok, but what’s wrong with you being so money hungry for better service. Not to mention non of these asian places can compare and/or take care of your nails like European salons can. Your nail beds get filed to nothing and you’re left with thin chipping unhealthy nails.

Very disappointing service last time I went. Long wait and manicurist cut my nails way too short and gave me infection.

Love this salon so much! All the folks who work here are so nice and they always do such a good job. They always give really attentive, present massage and i always feel happy with the quality of my mani/pedis here

First of all this shop in is Montclair which is part of Oakland, not Piedmont, but growing up a certain type of folks always would try to detach this area. Anyhow, I should have known better, but I had an interview the next day and my regular shop was closed. This is a basic shop and they probably spend way too much money on rent which causes them to overcharge. If you are claustrophobic don't go here. If you want dip powder they don't offer. The staff was nice enough, but again this area hasn't changed much since growing up in Oakland. I actually felt uncomfortable here, not by the staff but other patrons, lets just say they didn't quite look like me. Anyhow the service was ok, not spectacular and a bit basic, but it got the job done.

Really depends on who you get. I love most of the technicians but this last time I got the owner and she didn't cut cuticles or shape the nails. Really disappointed as I wanted this to be my nail place.

Good place. My nails stay beautiful and the atmosphere is calm. Prices are relatively normal especially since they do a good job Just get an appointment, they get busy

A $30 regular manicure ( got it from an older lady with large tattooed eyebrows, forgot her name) should take more than 15 minutes and include work on cuticles, NOT just covering them with oil. This is how my mani looked just 2 days after. Most definitely not returning... ever!

This place is always a relaxing treat. In the beautiful Montclair downtown. Close to shops and lots of great places to eat! Call ahead or walk on in and enjoy a chair massage and some of the most attentive nail techs in Oakland.

Good service. Efficient. Usually can get in easily. Don't know if other places in Montclair Oakland are better, but I don't have a reason to go anywhere else given how good these folks are. Highly recommend.

Their manicures always look fantastic and last more than a week. I do classic (not gel) and they look great and have lasting power! I always add on a few minutes of leg and back massage and it's such a wonderful treat! Love Top Nail Spa!

Relaxing - I like the spa music they play. I wish they had a policy that said people couldn't be on the phone during their service. Otherwise reasonable price and great manicure/pedicure!
