“Wanted a store where I could ask some questions and get suggestions on what products to try for my skin condition. The gentleman at the counter was so helpful and had some immediate recommendations. Reassuring knowing that the products carried there are of good quality and from reputable companies. Happy to support a local store, I'll be back!”

“One of the coolest grocery stores I've ever been to! There is truly something for everyone here from the vast selection of colorful produce to artisan bread to locally prepared foods. While some items are a bit pricey, you can definitely shop here on a budget if you know what to pick. Additionally, the store is both vegan/vegetarian friendly and I think has a great policy on waste. Many items like cashews are kept in bulk to reduce on plastic. If you like fresh food or simply a solid unique grocery store, the Berkeley Bowl is the way to go!”

“If you don't already shop at The Food Mill, you should start. It's a health food store that's been in Oakland since 1933. My current obsession is their crunchy peanut butter. You get a giant jar for under $10. It's freshly ground, so fluffy, nothing is added, and no stirring is needed! They also have a thousand bulk items, hard to find ingredients, fresh baked treats, lots of tasty fake meats, and the staff is so lovely and helpful.”

“While strolling around Berkeley, a friend and I popped into this shop. It ended up being the best part of our day! We chatted with the owner for quite some time, and he taught us all about what he does in his shop. We were able to see his soap he had just made, and he told us about his beekeeping. He has such a kindred spirit and is passionate about healing. I really look forward to going again!”

“Pretty good products/prices.The store is actually hilarious in how carricaturish it is: the customers who shop there are sort of a south park stereotype of your typical Berkeleyan. I suspect UCB is doing human cloning!”

“I love this store! Being a part of the Natural health Industry for over 30 years, I have seen a lot of Retail Stores for Natural Health. Alameda is one of the TOPS! And their employee, ROSA, is amazing! Her service and commitment to everyone feeling better and getting the remedies they need to do that ... is nothing short of AWESOMENESS!!! Thank you for such integrity in the Natural Health Industry.”

“As others have noted they have tons of mock meats at cheaper prices than places like Berkeley Bowl and Rainbow Grocery. They also have some harder-to-find specialty items like vegan fish sauce (with MSG for proper levels of dankness). There is a robot voice that welcomes you upon entry and politely sends you on your way as you leave. Highly recommended.”

“I’ve been trying the various flavors of kefirs and kombuchas they make over the past few months, and so far every single one is extremely refreshing. The apple-ginger, root beer, and blueberry juniper are favorites so far.”

“The staff is friendly and helpful, just make sure you get there early. I walked in 10 minutes before closing and they said they were already closed. I had to go back the next day.”

“This place isn't the cheapest, but it has healthy products, and with quality produce. The store is a bit crowded, but it has more shelves than you can imagine. The staff is kind, they have a wishlist that people can write into. I'll return for things here and there, I liked the place”

“The employee working the sandwich counter this morning was amazing. Typically we come in here and no one will make us a sandwich. But this morning they happily made them for us and were not shy with the avocado! :)”

“The best place to pickup some hot food for lunch. The hot/cold/salad bar is huge, probably the biggest in the area. They are tables both inside and outside to sit down and eat.I was here around lunchtime when it is busy, and they were no lines. The self-checkout is very helpful”

“The best of the best ! From FRESH fruits to veggies. I moved from Richmond all the way to Hayward and let me tell you I tried going to different locations out there and it was a no for me. They had rude people working their fruits and veggies weren’t as fresh as should be just plain disappointed. Now I have to drive like 31miles from my home but it’s okay I’m getting fresh produce for my kids ❤️ THANK YOU TO THE WORKERS HERE I REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR WORK AND YOUR PATIENCE ❤️”

“There's this girl that's short and have glasses and she's the mean one, she was very rude to my daughter and called her ugly but I get it she's is kinda ugly but the other employees were really sweet and nice AND RESPECTFUL, This employees her name is Alexa she's the sweetest and nicest person I've ever met gave my daughter a parfait for only $1 and she got happy because she loves parfait. They have great food in the store. They had great drinks and some are room temperature and some are cold . I wanted to give them a tip but there was no jar. Daniela she is the most amazing person in the store as well because she called my daughter pretty and she called my grandson cute. Daniela can keep my daughter because they look alike. She also gave me a free avocado because I didn't had enough money to buy it.I wanted to give Alexa and Daniela a huge huge big tip but like I said there was no jar. If it wasn't for them I would've give the store a 4 or a 3.Overall I'm going to rate this a 5.I won't let the girl with the glasses be rude my daughter and next time I see her I will talk with her manager.”

“This company sells their vegan cacao coconut mousse at Berkeley Bowl and it is amazing. So yum, no added sugar, and vegan! I guess the 1 star review reflects that this isn't a store front? Anyway the chocolate mousse is to die for!”

“Thank you, Grace! Your customer service is excellent. I came in for vitamins and there were just so many options. Grace helped me understand the varieties and the options, single dose or combo packed. The store is pleasant to walk into. I'll definitely be back to this store instead of buying online just for your support.”

“Nice selection of dry products and produce. Some of the deli items were priced incorrectly. Milk inventory extremely low (we went there specifically for a brand of organic milk). Parking lot is packed, not sure why.”

“The cheapest price on a pound of butter around and to top it off it was from Crystal Dairy company local to Modesto CA. #ShopLocal I went last month paid $3.00 for 1 pound. I will never buy butter anywhere else again as long as that price stays that way. Other than that the people were alright the guy was def the most polite idk what's shaking with the ladies in the store but give em another chance if not send an email. What else you do you know?”

“In the time post covid during the final year of white senile reign this whole foods was open even when the lights were dimmed so low in the parking lot so as to appear like noone is home. There is a satelite URBAN REMEDY shop just inside to the left. Very nice staff at U.R . This whole foods is a basket case. Its berkley. It IS the embodiment of bezerkly. It is smaller than some, the ready to eat hot food station is bigger than many other stores entire produce dept. Its laid out strangely but whatever. The best thing though is the entire aisle devoted to water, not just any water, IT IS KOSHER!!!!!! WOW! OY VEY! so i asked the workers how that works. Blank stares. I press on. I ask why there isnt any halal water. Nervous and worried blank stares. The manager gets called and is very unhappy with my questions but has no idea what either of those two words mean. He looks and speaks with Indian or Kashmiri accent so its not a problem, but wow.”

“I don’t ever leave reviews but the customer service was great. I believe there was two people working I’m guessing a manager (male) and maybe a assistant manager (female) either way they were both helpful, let me browse without being all on my back and more importantly were very informative. They signed me up so I can get cash back rewards which is cool as much as I train and travel I fly through products so it’s good to have. 10 stars to the service -@kofamuse”

“Whole Foods is an awesome supermarket with a bunch of cool stuff and a very casual atmosphere. They've got the best fruits, veggies, and healthy snacks you can imagine. It's like a food paradise for people who want to eat good and feel good. The workers there are super nice and know a lot about all the different foods, so if you ever need help, just ask!The only not-so-great thing is the parking. It's underground, and the entrance and exit can be kind of tight. If you've got a big car, it might be a little tricky. But once you conquer the parking challenge, the whole Whole Foods experience is totally worth it. It's like a magical land of delicious and healthy food waiting for you inside!”

“What can say... I'm addicted. I've been coming right Pressed for years and I love the freshness and quality of their drinks. I try to keep them on hand at all times and this location is almost a guarantee to have all flavors. Their shots are also a must - they truly make a difference in how you feel overall. Just do it ... your body will thank you! And cheers to the great staff who is always super helpful!”

“We stopped by Whole Foods on the weekend to purchase some items since we had manufactured coupons. The parking lot was busy but we were able to find a spot quickly as people kept coming in and out. When you first walk in, there are self check out station and a guard. There is also a customer service station allowing you to return your Amazon packages. Inside of the store, the aisles were not labeled according, so it was tough to locate many items that I was looking for. Even though it was a busy store, the items in the store is always stocked and cleaned. While using manufacturer coupons at checkout, the customer service representatives and other store customers made me feel unwelcome and it felt frustrating. I carefully planned my budget and since some of the coupons were not taken, the total went over the roof. I would definitely go back if their customer service representative is trained better.”
