Please, please, please, find a team who will treat you better - I know I will. I have been a client at Park Community Animal Hospital for over a year and a half with my same pet and have had a good experience until today. The customer service has become unacceptable and I will be changing hospitals. It is such a shame that it is so difficult to find a decent animal hospital for my baby in this area but I will continue looking. Too often good VETS are overpowered by terrible receptionists.
I am disappointed in the customer service I received today at Park Community Animal Hospital. The visit started out okay, even with long wait times (Monday 3PM). The vet, Dr. Kim, was very caring when discussing my pet's treatment. After paying for services, I looked at my receipt and realized I was billed for a completely different pet. I requested a refund and to be charged the correct amount for my pet.
The receptionist who initially charged me (the team lead) left to the back for several minutes. The remaining receptionist proceeded to accept incoming phone calls. After listening to her lengthy conversation, asking for the client's schedule, and then accepting a second call, I requested that she help resolve my problem of being charged for the wrong pet instead. This receptionist, Chelsea, proceeded to continue her conversation, completely ignoring me. She then openly argued with me, telling me her phone call came first and was more important. A third receptionist appeared from the back and I approached her asking for her help instead. This receptionist (glasses, extremely calm and uncaring demeanor) informed me it would require a manager to issue the refund (Carlos - who never appeared to the front).
Again appears the receptionist (lead) who initially charged me for the wrong pet. After several minutes of silence at her seat, she informs me she is now able to void the transaction and will charge me my correct amount for my pet, which is $110 less than she initially charged me. I let her know her I did not have the available funds in my bank since the initial payment is still posted and my card will decline for the correct amount. She goes to the back to ask the manager for permission to send me a bill via text, and comes back saying she is able to. Again, I came across the extremely condescending attitude and unclear answers from the lead when asking for a paper receipt of the voided transaction. The bottom line is these people made a mistake that I would have been willing to kindly accept if it weren't for being ignored for several minutes after over-paying and if they acted with any sense of professionalism or sense of care.
On top of the disaster that is reception at this hospital, I was recommended by a vet tech to purchase a topical solution for fleas. I was sold three units and sent home with three units. So was any medicine administered at the hospital?? Who knows - I will have to call and ask tomorrow during operating hours.
Also, I understand policy and safety but pet parents should really be allowed to at least see where their babies are being treated! Every time I have requested to see my pet get vaccines or any type of exam - I am denied. This does not help to create an environment of trust and there should be accommodations for these types of requests.

Staff is very friendly, very professional and so helpful. I really like this vet. I’ve taken my dog to several in the first couple of years I had her, but now I only come here. They’ve taken me in as a walk in when I didn’t have an appointment. Only thing I would change, I’d appreciate if they would email me a reminder of when her shots are due. I once took my dog to a vet hospital during the pandemic cuz she was having an allergic reaction to a bee sting. To this day, they still send me vaccine reminders and birthday wishes for my dog Jackie.

This place is nice and everything but when I took my dog here for a check up due to having his tail red and swollen, the Doctor said that he didn't know what was wrong with him but was fast to give me a quote of $1,765 for x rays, blood work and also medication. But yet he kept stating to me that he wasn't sure of he had a broken or fracture tail nor if it was just an infection. So I decided to take him somewhere else and it ended up being an infection. Will definitely not go back to this place.

Finally found a veterinarian that fits the budget and is friendly. Easy to make appointments and offices super clean
Edit: not sure what has changed, but my last visit with them has changed my mind. My last visit seemed like they only cared about the money. No warm hospitality and they missed a giant cyst on my dog's abdomen. It was a senior dog well check plus a $600 blood and urine test. To find out a week later he has a UTI and they want to do a $300 culture test to determine which antibiotics to give him. I opted to do a generic antibiotic as research shows that is what works 90% of the time. Went back a week after antibiotics regimen for an $80 urinalysis ( ama as they wanted another culture) . They call me back 2 days later to tell me his UTI is gone but he now has struvite crystals and needs Rx food that is $20 per can. And for his size would need 4-6 cans daily for 1 month. Zero other options were given. I was told that without that, he would develope bladder stones and need surgery which could kill him given his age.
I researched on my own and consulted with a few holistic vets and found a homemade food and vitamin regimen that we used for 6 weeks and then returned to his regular diet with increased fluids and cranberries to help future issues.
Here's the thing. It's very common to have struvite crystals after a UTI. Most believe that it will subside on its own but do the diet change and increase water as a pre caution. Thing is, that was never presented as an option to me. After spending over $1000 for a healthy dog with a UTI, they wanted more $$$$. Buying and making our own food was a total of $60 for 6 weeks and also feed my other dog.
Would be nice to find a vet that actually cares about dogs and families over the paycheck.
Also...... If Costco and Walmart can sell me a dog Rx for $15, why is it $60 at the vet? It abuse and sucks that people take advantage of pet owners

I'm baffled with the amount of low reviews I've seen here. One concern I have is the amount of times I've been going to get flea medication for my pet or also for office visits, the front desk is always understaffed. There use to be 4 girls 7 days a week and now I only see 2 or 3 girls. The hospital is always busy and there's always customers waiting, the room gets crowded. That's a good sign that they are busy but I wonder if they are also under staffed in the hospital too. Other than that, I love this place. Doctors are always nice, the nurses are sweet and very educational and the front desk ladies are very welcoming and social. I needed to write this review because my daughter and I attended an appointment on a Thursday for my pet and saw a front desk girl get mistreated by a customer with a puppy and I seen how she handled that so well. I felt bad, she was very compassionate while the customer was very stand off and rude. I've seen this type of act before here at this hospital and at my pets groomers and I can't help but comment on how well trained the staff are. The lady being rude to the front desk girl should not attend a hospital that she does not feel comfortable at. Just want to say sorry to that front desk girl with short blonde hair. It was very unfortunate. I hope they can add a supervisor up front so they can have supervison. Other than that, this hospital is awesome. Thank you taking care of my fur babies, and thank you Doctor Park for an awesome hospital.

My baby Zelda just got dental work here and I couldn't be more happy. The doctors worked with me , even after crying on the phone with someone on the phone . Everyone is welcoming. I will be coming back

First off made an appointment last week for today at 2:30. They lost our appointment and made us go on the walk in list with a crowded waiting room. Then they tried to charge us extra for a walk in appointment when an appointment was made. Front desk receptionist with streaked brown hair was extremely rude when I was concerned about leaving my puppy alone while he was getting his shots. He is only 2 months. I explained to her with my other dog, who is now 9, that they always took us all into the exam room while things were done unless it was surgery. Her response was rolling her eyes, shrugged her shoulders and said "well that's policy now" and tried to take my puppy. She was not empathic of me having to leave my baby alone during a traumatic experience. From the receptionists behavior, the people who represent this Vet are not loving caring animal people. They overcharge and seem to care more about getting more money than they care about the animals they are supposed to be caring for.

As a family we've been coming here for years. Vaccinations, check up etc. With all that time the inevitable was bound to happen. We had to put one of our dog down. The entire staff was kind, helpful & understanding. EVERYONE so was nice. On the front counter they had a candle lit in honor of our Marley being put to rest. Ruben one the vet assistants went over & beyond in explaining everything; the process, cost, letting me know I was making the right decision. He didn't try to sell me on cremation but it was offered. In the end I was with Marley as I said my good bye but Ruben was asked to come in & assist in holding her. He was not only calmly talking to Marley he was also reassuring ME I couldn't have asked for a peaceful experience. THANK YOU AGAIN to all the Staff at Park Community by bar I highly recommend them

I have taken my cat here a few times. The receptionists are not usually friendly. They will ask every time if I want a receipt after I paid hundreds of dollars on medical care for my pet, so of course I want a receipt. They messed up once and gave my cat meds that I did not authorize but it was nice that they did not charge me for the mistake and the meds didn't hurt her. And I do not like that I have to ask for a copy of my visit, like her weight, etc. The vets are really nice but they do not allow you to be in the examination room with the vet and your pet. Also I think the vets don't give you enough info. for example what to anticipate when you get home. I picked up my cat and she had a shaved spot on her neck, which I'm sure they had to do for tests or to administer meds but it would have been nice to give me a heads up so I know the bald spot is there and why it is there. My husband was pissed but I told him it was not a big deal. Anyway, I chose to go elsewhere and I am hoping to find a vet that I can really trust and connect with.

I feel so welcomed when I take my dog to hospital. All the staff from the front office to the doctors are very caring about their patients. They go into details about his care and most of all...the are very affectionate to my fur baby...my pittie.
Thank you

DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR SURGERY!!!!!! my dog had cherry eye surgery here and after 3 visits and $1400 spent cherry eye never went away. When I asked to speak to surgeon they informed me he is not associated with the hospital anymore and if I wanted to perform surgery again I would have to pay for a 2nd time or follow the doctor to his new location. Don't waste your time here. They will nickel and dime you until you find a new clinic to go to. Front desk manager not helpful!!!!

I've been coming to Park Animal Hospital for a few years with my pets. I've never came across the office manager Carlos until this visit. He wanted to make arbitrary charges for monitoring my pet. I was not given an estimate or approved of these charges before hand. Although I asked for an estimate, the receptionist had to speak with Carlos first. I'm not sure why he was even personally handling my case since he is not a doctor or veterinarian technician. In retrospect, I should have asked to speak with the doctor or vet tech who was handling my pet. He was really trying to save face but was making the customer service even worse and manipulative. I spoke with him over the phone and he made some unnecessary petty comments, so I picked up my pet right away. He said that, "We were dictating what the doctor should do or couldn't do to my pet. That maybe, we should find a different doctor." It was very unfortunate. I have had great experiences with one of their techs Reuben in the past who is experienced, knowledgable, and kind. I had a different tech this time. Attention Dr. Park: My pet suddenly lost her vision. Fortunately, I have someone in my family who is also Vet Tech who works in specialty eye care for animals. We knew it was hypertension. I took her for an exam to get blood work and check blood pressure. Her blood pressure results came back normal 100/80/86 on an automatic blood pressure reading machine. Automatic blood pressure machines are known to give false readings or to be inaccurate. So I called back to ask if they have a manual blood pressure machine called Doppler. They didn't even know if they had a Doppler machine and wanted to charge me $25 for the recheck. I came back again. Her blood pressure was crazy high with Doppler like 220. The office manager Carlos wanted to charge me for "four tests" checking her blood pressure. I only asked for them to check her with a Doppler machine and for her to be prescribed medicine. Carlos was testing her blood pressure again with the automatic machine and Doppler. It was really frustrating to be charged and negotiating only with Carlos and only speaking to Carlos not the doctor or vet tech. Carlos is not an expert. If he would have just admitted to their mistake and not made those comments, I would not be writing this review. Instead of it being a teaching moment for Park Community Hospital and Carlos, they delivered customer service with pettiness and overcharging. We had to diagnosis my pet for them. I paid $399 for exam, senior wellness, and blood pressure exam $45 for antibiotics for another issue $56 for her third recheck (3 days in a row of checking her blood pressure) and he would have charged me more had I not argued with him about this. They monitored my pet the day before and wanted to do the same today. Although I asked them not too and I asked them for the charges upfront. He want to charge us for their mistake.

This feels like a place where they will take care of your pet but they wil nickle and dime you. Pricing for the spay couldve been disclosed when i inquired about the operation, but instead, the appointment for the spay ended up being an examination for 60, 200 for a pre survery blood test, and 600+ for the spay. They only decided to tell me the price after the 5 minute examination of doing nothing and charging 60 for that... smh
