My stay here this weekend was phenomenal. The service was exceptional and everyone was very kind and helpful. We loved the front staff who helped us and the employees in the restaurant. They were so funny and genuine and the food was amazing! I highly recommend staying here and enjoying the positive atmosphere. Our cabin was cozy and had a nice patio to relax in. I will definitely be coming back soon!

Had an excellent stay at this hotel. Every little detail (amenities, sheets, snacks in the room) had been though of and was taken care of to a high standard. The rooms were very nice, and there was also a lot of little spaces to enjoy around the property. The Wickson restaurant was excellent with service to match. Maybe my favorite Caesar Salad ever? The Bohemian Chemist shop was beautiful, the advice was very helpful, and the products were high quality. There were a lof of wonderfun things to see and do in the area. I would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to go back soon.

A Beautiful Gem in the Redwoods Nestled within the majestic Redwoods of Anderson Valley in Philo, Mendocino County, California, The Madrones and its sister property The Brambles was the perfect location to host our company retreat. The quiet and understated luxury of this property/hotel along with the owners/proprietors (Jim and Brian) and their friendly and accommodating staff (Kila, Bernadette and others) made us feel so welcome and so comfortable. The Madrones is unique as it presents itself with a touch of European grandeur in the natural beauty of the emerald forest. The Madrones/Brambles is one of those rare instances where the website photos do not do the actual property justice. It more than exceeded our expectations. The Brambles provided the ideal environment for our company retreat. Located nearby in a grove of Redwoods the property had an event "Pavillion" that hosted our 20 person staff more than comfortably. The building also included a kitchen which were convenient for meals during retreat sessions. The accommodations at the Brambles while outside looked rustic were the epitome of comfort. The Wickson Restaurant on the property headed by Chefs Jason Azevedo and Jenny provided our catering and all of delicious meals all of which were made with locally sourced ingredients were on par with what you would find in the neighboring Napa-Sonoma counties. We highly recommend this property as an excellent location to get away from the hustle of city life to unwind, relax and to bond with your team!

What a fabulous hidden gem! This is a truly spectacular property in a magical valley. I organized a weekend getaway for myself and 12 great girlfriends and we had an amazing time exploring the area. The Madrones offered a truly unique and unforgettable experience with their onsite wine tasting room and cannabis apothecary. Something for everyone! :) The staff was incredibly responsive and knowledgeable, and the rooms are extremely welcoming and tastefully designed/appointed. The onsite restaurant, Wickson, is also incredible! Can't say enough good things about this place. Looking forward to returning, next time with my husband for a romantic getaway.

We had our wedding weekend at the Madrones/Brambles, and it was truly the most magical experience. Jim and Brian have created the most remarkable place, and our guests were blown away by the personal touches. They and the madrones team were so accommodating as we navigated the challenges of planning three events, and we will be forever grateful for our special weekend we will certainly be back to stay in the future!

My wife & I stayed for our honeymoon and for the price paid (a little over three hundos per night) it was clean and pristine, modern and chic compared to other places you can stay in the area. We stayed at The Master -- definitely the one you wanna book for you and your partner. Don't forget to stop by the nearby wine bar Disco Ranch, the name sounds interesting but it's really the most chill wine bar with quite the knowledgable owner.

Buyer beware: if you book this hotel and cancel the booking, even long before the end of the 21 day cancellation deadline required for the so-called full refund, you will be charged a 50.00 service fee for canceling. We have traveled pretty much all over the world and have not once been charged such a fee. Terrible business practice.

This is one of the coolest hotels I have ever stayed. Owner is a current / former designer and each room of the main hotel has a distinct theme and the bed is fantastic. There is another part of the hotel that is on a separate piece of land right next to it called the Brambles. These are former cabins for the loggers, but have been renovated and provide a great space for a small family or couple. Located right next to a Grove of redwoods forest for early-morning hikes and easy access to the wine country of Anderson Valley. Madrones is located in a small town called Philo. There are very limited food choices in the immediate area. But make sure you try the on-site restaurant. The food is fantastic, Field to table, and pizza is cooked in a real brick oven. Awesome wine list as well. You will find several wine producer tasting stores on site as well.

What a lovely retreat in the middle of Anderson valley! The rooms are thoughtfully appointed and the sheets are some of the softest I've slept on. The front desk, while not 24/7, has very helpful and friendly staff and a well curated store of unique gifts shares the space. Attached is the most elegant dispensary I've ever seen to be quite honest, and just a few steps away is Long Meadow Ranch tasting room - be sure to check out their Pinot Noir! No notes - just smiles. We will definitely be back!
