More than just a smog shop… These guys are thorough and fast, I’ve completed repeated smog tests here, but they have also fixed many other problems on my vehicles at a reasonable rate. Highly recommend.
Old school shop with big time knowledge. Guy on front desk is perfect.

Came in here about 9mos ago.
The man with the grey ponytail at the front desk made me extremely uncomfortable as well as treating me like I was stupid, plus he and the office absolutely reeks of cigarettes. Service was quick and affordable, but I will not be returning due to the man at the front desk.
Adding in - the pony tailed man showed me pictures of the inside of someone’s else’s car that was decked out in pink. He was not only violating this poor woman’s privacy taking pics of her car but making fun of it! He was definitely trying to get me to join in. He is a disgusting vile man.

First off, the tech that did the actual smog was a super nice guy. The guy at the front desk (long haired, glasses) was a different story. I walked in and said hello and asked how he was, and he just mean mugged me and didn’t say anything at all. That’s fine, I didn’t come to a smog shop to make friends. What bothered me is I had all my paperwork ready, didn’t ask any dumb questions, didn’t hold up the process in any way, and the guy still finds a way to be almost comically rude to me every step of the way. He did the same to everyone else I saw come in while I was waiting. Listen I don’t know his story, and he can say whatever he wants because that’s his right. It’s also MY right to say I think you should go to a shop that doesn’t treat people like that. That’s all!

They don't take appointments so walk-in only. My usual place wasn't doing the tests and they recommended Super Sonic Smog. Read reviews in here so went for it. I called and got the guy who has been mentioned in other reviews. Oh, yeah. He's the same in person and I'm okay with that. He does his job efficiently and I don't need my hand held through the process. Really, I'm getting a smog test done. While you wait they have seating in different areas: chairs in the office, old vehicle bench seat and folding chairs in the garage bay, and out in the lot an outdoor table and chairs. You'll see how busy they are and watch traffic on Lakeville and Hopper. I saw a few Clover Milk trucks with logos that were new to me. The mechanic was friendly and it can be jarring after the counter guy. I liked them both and will be back in the future for any smog needs. If you want the real deal this is the place. Highly recommend for price, service, and the experience. Five out of five -easily. Be alert when you drive down Hopper from Caulfield. Wide trucks in a hurry, pedestrians, cyclists, and all kinds of everything else are in abundance.

These guys are great. We have two older vehicles and a few years back, the state made getting these older vehicles smogged a lot more difficult than had previously been the case. Different equipment and protocols were put in place for pre-2000 year cars and I guess not every smog shop thought it was worthwhile to invest in the equipment needed to test these older cars. One previous smog shop started requiring appointments (not necessarily a bad thing), but blocked out an hour and a half for the procedure (previously ten to twenty minutes would suffice). Another place we used kept having equipment breakdowns and calibration issues so they recommended Super Sonic to us. These guys are strictly first come, first serve so you may have a wait if you get there at the wrong time, but we got lucky and they took us right in. 15 minutes later we we're on our way. Good job, guys. Thanks.
