Love the team at Sonoma Marin Vet. They've taken great care of my horse for years. Let's be honest, my horse is high maintenance. Horses in general are high maintenance. The team at Sonoma Marin works with our coach to make routine care for my horse effortless for me. I work my butt off paying for my horse's lifestyle, I'm tired like all the time. It's kinda priceless having a positive long standing relationship with my horse's care team.

Amazing staff and always helpful. Had to call the emergency line the other night with a badly breached doe and Dr Thornton was amazing and not only saved to doe but the three kids as well.

We have used Son Marin Vet Services a few times for emergency call outs.I can't recommend them highly enough.Our last call out was in February, 2021 for a goat that delivered a stillborn, no placenta after a full day and a few other issues. Dr. Hannah Greene came out and was wonderful with the animal and with us! She took all the time needed to make sure the goat was doing well. This was not a rushed visit. She continued to contact us to place follow up calls within the few days after.When we contacted the office initially, the staff was great. I just can't see anyone having anything negative to say about the whole operation, and this is based on repeated services.I am writing this now, one month later because we just received the invoice for services. The bill was probably a 1/4 of what I though we should have been charged.

Can’t speak to their vet services but I did call to try to get a weekend appointment for a smaller animal. I was unaware they only handled large animals when I called. The woman that answered the phone was not very personable. It’s not a crime not to be personable but if I had a large animal and called for care, I’d probably move onto the next vet service. Again, can’t speak to their ability.

Maybe the person answering the phone can sound like a friendly voice to talk to. Trying to find a large animal hospital and "customer service" voice on the phone is not one I want. Dang-What happened to a friendly helpful person.

If I can give them zero stars I would! Not only were they rude when I tried to book my appointment but then they decided to call me at the time of my appointment and tried to cancel or reschedule for the next week when I had already waited four days for this appointment. I also left my work early to be there so super inconsiderate and rude !! I had already previously asked the price for the visit they told me $100 and ended up billing me $120 I also asked how much the bloodwork would be he quoted me $130 they ended up charging me $150. There were also random charges on the invoice when I had asked them to send it to me I checked. dr. Hardcastle was rude and super quick did not seem like he was not interested after paying $500 for a vet bill . I will never use them again!!!

I have used Sonoma Marin Veterinary for over 22 years, and my family has used them for many more. They used to be a very caring and responsive group of veterinarians. That began to change about 10 years ago or so when one of the owners was in the process of retiring. About 6 months ago, one of my horses was down with a Major colic. I made the call to the vet in the morning and was told that they would not be able to send anyone out that day even on an emergency basis. I ended up calling Cotati large Animal who was able to send someone out very quickly. Sadly, at that point there was not much that could be done for the horse, and we ultimately lost him. I still considered SMV to be our vet, so today, when my 33+ year old horse came up lame, and would not put weight on his right rear leg, and I wanted to get some Butte to see if it would make him comfortable (he is 33 and tired, at this point every day is a blessing and we just want to make him comfortable) I was told that since they had not seen him recently, they would not sell me the butte! They have been this horses vet for 22 Years!!I will never, ever call these people again and I will also NEVER recommend them. Be warned, they appear to be all about the mighty dollar now, and do not care about the animals.

They won't save an animal unless you're going to kill them. They are against veganism- aka saving animals and the planet through ending animal ag. WTF is this speciesist hypocrisy?

They are an amazing service. Dr. Hardcastle is just fantastic. He is skilled in regular dentistry as well as special procedures and his bedside manner is exactly what you want in a vet. My gelding needs a dental at least once a year, if not sooner, and thanks to Dr. Hardcastle I know his teeth will be perfectly in balance. He is very knowledgeable about treatments/medications and my horses have benefited from his care and his ability to coordinate with farriers. Its also reassuring that they are available 24/7 for any emergency
