These guys are great!!! I found a baby squirrel with his eyes still shut today on the job. I do creek patrol. The little squirrel who I named little buckaroo was on the ground and this guy who was there as I walked up was poking him with a stick. He left when I walked up, I suspect because I'm in my uniform plus I moved in between him and the squirrel, Anyway, I looked around for mama squirrel for about 20 minutes but nothing, so I got gloves and picked him up and put him on a tree which he struggled to hold himself there so I put him in my hand and he curled up.I searched online and called Sonoma County Wildlife and Rescue and after sending them pictures of the squirrel, which they needed to confirm it was actually a squirrel, they responded with, we need him ASAP, so I headed straight there and and did the intake paperwork, left a donation for his care and I was on my way. They gave me an intake number so I will be able to check up on his progress which I will do. The cool thing is he's safe and when he's strong enough and healthy, they will be taking him and releasing him back to the location I found him. I really appreciate SCWR for their services that they do for wildlife❤️ much love to you guys ❤️

Called about a injured bird. Lady said it was un catchable if I could not catch it. I have thousands of hours of dog rescue volunteer work and have never met someone who didn’t want to come help an animal till now anyway the bird is across the street from 1265 east mcarther three feet up tree I would have showed you and waited as long as possible. I’m disabled and she wants me to try to catch a bird. Meh

We are so lucky to have Doris Duncan's rescue org. in our county. I have found all kinds of 'abandoned' baby animals on my property and taken them to SoCoWRF. A number of them have been 'rehabilitated' and returned here. I also had them install 2 barn owl boxes on my property. I try to bring produce over regularly (they have a signup list of what they need on their website). If you can manage, please send them a little (big is ok too) donation. They work on a shoestring and do so much with so little. Thanks.

What a wonderful tour with Margaret. We started with some info about the rescue and how to handle raccoons in your yard etc., then did a walk to see the turkey vulture, the hawk, coyote, bobcat, mountain lion, possum and wended w the wolf dog, domestic cat and sheep and goats. It's worth coming out to and a good break in wine tasting.

Fantastic & educational for the entire family. We had a wonderful time this past rainy weekend. The volunteer was excellent and answered all of our questions. This was the highlight of our weekend adventures in Petaluma. Thank you

Great organization. They showed us their bobcats, shy pumas, possums, raccoon, hawks. They try to release back to the wild if possible. They only display those that cannot. Nice enclosures and interesting presentation before. Highly recommended for school field trips. This was 6th grade and was right at the level. Also, the sell owl boxes for humane gopher control.

Brought them a bat today and instead of doing anything to try and help rehabilitate the animal, they immediately euthanized it. I NEVER would have brought the animal to a REHABILITATION place if I would have known all they were going to do is kill it. There reasoning was that after being euthanized they can test for rabies even though the animal had ZERO sign of it. Last time I’m taking an animal here and never supporting this place again.

Really sorry about calling and asking about killing a turkey. Thought it was game warden not a rescue place. My apologies
