This pet store has been around as long as I can remember. I used to frequent the store more often then I can count when I had 2 dogs many, many years ago. It has been several years since I was here and decided to stop (yup during Covid times) in with my newest dog, Rocko, to see if things had changed or stayed the same. It was exactly as I remembered and Stephanie still owned the store. I was looking at the stuff animals with squeaker toys in them trying to find one and Stephanie said to let Rocko test drive them so I did. There were two that he really liked so I purchased those. And of course, Stephanie asked if it was ok to give him a treat. She let's dogs, including her own, come into the store and walk with their owners. They have cute stuff such as shirts and bandanas, collars, leashes, beds, dishes, dog products for shampooing and more for dogs & cats. They even have a few things for horses. It's not a big box store so items and quantities are limited but it's definitely a place to find some unique items for your pet. It's not very big like all the big box pet stores, it's small, quaint and yes cluttered, but that's because it's a small place and it's part of it's charm. This is definitely a store to stop in and browse as well as buy.

Such a wonderful store! Stephanie is the sweetest woman, she cares and loves animals so much. She has some of the cutest “pet specific” items that are hard to come by and a great selection of of everything thing else. True old school Petaluma gem!

I have been going here for many years. Love this store.haven't been in awhile since I lost my pet. I was so warmly received by the darling owner. She even still had a photo of my Lulu She is going to find me a rescue dog Talk about a full service store A must visit

I always visit Our Best Friends when visiting family in Petaluma. Great array of pet toys, beds, collars, and SO much more! AND lots of gift items to consider even if you are like me and don't have a pet. The owner, Stephanie, is warm and welcoming....as are adorable "dogs in residence" and always helpful with recommendations for your needs. I also love the fact that, like many Petaluma shops, OBF is locally owned and managed.

I just moved to Petaluma and Our Best Friends is within walking distance from my apartment. Stephanie is super helpful and knowledgeable about dogs and accessories. Also, she has three really cute dogs. It is a great place to visit, buy, or order something for your dog. Plus, she is a local merchant and it is not a national chain store:)

My wife and I spent about an hour in the shop today talking to Stephanie, the owner, meeting her dogs, browsing the offerings, and learning more about Petaluma. We shared what we had for lunch at Pearl Petaluma that is in the same neighborhood. Ending up buying a goodie for our daughter who loves cats. Didn't see any horse friend gifts right off the bat. And have to think about what to buy for our 125# bullmastiff and come back again. It was a blast! A warm welcome, good conversation, helpful info on Petaluma and a ton of GOOD STUFF on the shelves is the hallmark of the stores in town that we frequent often. We're newcomers from that "other county" to the south of us. Stephanie - thank you for all you do, both inside and outside the store.

This store has more pet stuff than you can look at in one day, some local and some imported. I love the seating area in the middle of the store where I can try dog collars on Ginger.

This is not Petco or Petsmart. This is a great little pet store with collars and leashes to suit your pet's personality. The gal who runs it is great and very personable. There are so many neato items here - water and food bowls, coats and sweaters, pet trinkets, nic-nacs, funny signs: just lots of neat stuff. Stuff for dogs, cats, and even some horse stuff.
You really need to check this place out!
