Both Doctor Graff, and Doctor Rupiper, Animal Tech Brian, and Support Staff at East Petaluma Animal Hospital are the most amiable, professional, and thoughtful people I have ever had the good fortune to meet to treat my dog 'Duke,' a large long-haired German Shepherd.

I can't really speak about the vet or vets, they seem okay. But, their staff is extremely lacking and disorganized and or ill trained. It can be very frustrating.

I had a horrible experience here when I brought my dog. The lady at the front desk slammed my credit card on the table. They always have an attitude, over priced & just look miserable. I will never come back here. I definitely recommend vetco instead.

If I could give them 0 stars i would. Took my Guinea pig Piplup yesterday because he was breathing with his mouth open. They said they can take him in to stay on oxygen but I could not stay. He had been checked the day previously at another emergency vet and they directed me to this hospital in case his condition got worse overnight, it did so i decided to put my trust in them and drop off my baby. I got a call about an hour later saying they suspect he had water in his lungs, doctor Rupiper recommended he get Xrays, after discussing about financial issues he said I should proceed with paying for the procedure if I can't afford Xrays and I agreed. Also suggested trimming his teeth back so he can eat more comfortably which I now believe was just to charge me more. He said he wanted to keep my baby on oxygen till later in the day and I agreed so I anxiously waited until I got another call around 4pm. He said Piplup is now breathing through his nose and seems to be doing better. I obviously believed him and he said I can pick him up in an hour so they can slowly decrease oxygen and get him used to normal air again. I went to pick him up at 5pm as directed. They made me pay before I could even see him. Total was 345$. I was given half-assed intructions on his medication and felt abit rushed to leave which was odd. I noticed my baby seemed to be struggling worse to breathe, gasping and throwing his body around desperate for air. I pulled over in my car about 2 minutes away from the hospital and he died in my hands literally 5 minutes after leaving. I believe they knew he wasnt going to make it long after I left. They gave me false hope that he was breathing better and that his medication would help him "cough up the liquid in his lungs". Pretty heartbreaking ngl. They called me again today and they mixed him up with my deceased hamster and asked "How is Ash after his visit" like ???? HIS NAME IS PIPLUP. and he is also dead now thank you. Got a stupid email saying theyre sorry. I now believe Piplup didnt have a chance and they didnt either but led me to believe he was recovering a bit. I also noticed the critical care I gave them to feed him while he was there was never opened. I hope no one ever goes through this and I would not reccommend u bring ur pets here, they just want to get as much money as they can out of you which is sadly typical for most vets.

If you're looking for a great vet, this is the place to go! I brought both of my hamsters here to get checked out by Dr. Rupiper and he is the best. Will answer any questions you have to ask! 10/10

Lovebug had an outstanding visit with Dr. Rupiper. He roused his feathers multiple times in excitement after being examined and held down for a blood draw. We wouldn’t go anywhere else for our avian care.

East Petaluma Animal Hospital I would highly recommend. They are very good caring for my lovebird Peachface. I won't take her to anyone else. The care is thorough, I can ask questions and they are answered. All staff is kind.

First visit at East Petaluma Animal Hospital. Dr. Rupiper was very kind and knowledgable. An excellent vet. He knew right away what the problem was and did one test. I had a vet in Vallejo who padded the bill all the time with test after test. Regardless of the reason for the visit the bill was almost a thousand dollars. He was very caring of our Harry even though this was our first visit and he did not know us. Highly recommend. I knew our little bird was in excellent hands. We are so thankful to have found him. He was recommended by another vet. We will be taking our dog there for sure.

Dr. Rupiper is a true avian expert...few and far between. Our African Gray Congo Parrot "Emma" is currently playing with her Busy Bird aluminum box with threaded rods and wingnuts! She's stopped self-mutilating - feather plucking and chewing that began suddenly this spring at age 30. Turns out that our "Emma" is actually a dude and he wasn't sick, just hormonal and bored. ...I'm using this diagnosis on my wife, now..."Do you want me to start feather-chewing, too?"

I took my parrot in due to it not doing well. The doctor took X-rays and diagnosed my baby. He had to be put down unfortunately. They were so kind and considerate. The doc had been the best avian vet I had ever gone too. He was very kind and compassionate. I would recommend this clinic to anyone who has a bird in need.

We are Petaluma newbies of about 7 months and we’re looking for a vet to care for our pets. Dr. Rupiper is one of the best vets we have worked with. So far 2 of our animals have been seen and each time he is very loving to them and thoroughly explains anything going on with our furrbabies. You can tell he has a real passion for animals and also making sure that us, the parents, are at ease in any situation. I feel so lucky and happy to have found his office. Office staff is amazing as well. 100% recommend.
