I was in the Petaluma DMV today and I was literally appalled at the behavior of these grown costumer service adults. Today is 02-16-2024. Windows 10,11 and 12 were unbelievably rude. They spoke loud and barked orders like we all knew what to do or push on the pos system. Window 12 yelled at an elderly Hispanic woman when she didn’t understand the employees instructions on the IPad. When I stood up to help the woman I gently touched her back and offered my help and her eyes were swollen with tears and confusion. Your employee at window 12 looked at me like I was crazy!Unfortunately I do not speak or read Spanish so when I struggled with the instructions a gentleman that was able to read Spanish stood up to help us. While I was walking to my unpleasant guy on window 12 all I could hear was the disrespectful scolding at Window 11 because this person filled something out wrong. When I walked up to window 10 after quite a long wait your employee said what do you need to do today when I replied he snapped at me. Told me that I was whispering and he couldn’t hear me. When I asked him why everyone was so unpleasant and rude he looked me in the face and told me to have a good day with the disrespectful look on his ugly face. Window 10 looked like the miserable bearded video game player that still lives with his parents. Window 11 had long brown hair in a braid probably the biggest dork in junior high she was bouncing around like she invented the DMV and everyone else were just idiots she disgusted me! And then there was window 12 an older woman with gray hair and a Giants mask that was so rude to a pleasant lady that was smiling and doing her best to do what she needed to. Im really on the verge of reaching out to the press to make a public complaint. That is something I have never done. I call people out head on but your employees didn’t care that a half dozen people thanked me for standing up for this lady

The workers here are really kind and friendly. It’s never not going to be awful to go to the DMV but they make it as pleasant as it possibly can be

It’s funny to think of the writing a review for the DMV, but I feel that others should know what they are walking into. It was suggested that I came to the Petaluma DMV because it was a better experience. Let me ensure you, I would have rather waited hours than be treated the way I was at this establishment. It’s very apparent the employees are generally unhappy and unhelpful. I came early as suggested got my number waited a little over 25 minutes for my number to be called I presented the paperwork. The gentleman typed a few things in the computer and then said oh that’s weird and took my paperwork over to a different gentleman that gentleman came over And kept repeating himself. He was cutting me off and extremely rude, and then told me that I could either do or don’t do his suggestion, but there was nothing they could do to help me. I left in tears, I was treated so terribly, and it was completely uncalled, for I was not rude, nor did I raise my voice. Generally , when you go to the DMV , you are seeking help and guidance given to you in a professional manner and clearly the individuals that work in this establishment are not professionals or helpful. I suggest going to any other DMV because there is no way you could be treated worse then Petaluma DMV

The lady is treated in a bad way, very angry, shouting, very bad service on her part.

I'm giving it three stars because we had both good and bad experiences. Twin daughters both taking their driving exams to get their driver's license on the same day. First experience was awesome. The first test was given by a man. He introduced himself to us with a big smile on his face. Very friendly and kind. My daughter was nervous but felt comfortable with him. Second test complete disaster. I could tell immediately how the woman approached us that this was going to be rough for my daughter. She was very curt. No hello, introduction, nothing to make my daughter feel at ease. She was extremely nervous and was driving very cautiously. The woman instructor was berating her for driving two cautiously ,which I understand is a thing, but come on lady have a little compassion. After the exam was over she asked my daughter why she was upset, she didn't even know if she failed or not. Sitting in the car flailing her arms around for 10 minutes berating her about what a terrible driver she was my daughter was on the verge of tears. This lady was so unkind and so unsensitive to how my daughter was feeling. If you're going to take your test there and you see a woman instructor with a Band-Aid on her nose and a plastic bag stashed in the bush to use as a seat cover. Just reschedule. She passed by the way

The worst DM ever. (Not an exaggeration) The staff treat you as if you’re an inconvenience to them. Why even work at all if you’re not willing to be any bit helpful? I would recommend going to the Napa DMV if you want to be treated with at least some decency and respect. This DMV and their staff are an absolute joke.

One of the behind the wheels instructor there is a kind of racist she’s my instructor for the second time but she failed me for the second time around I did all the proper ways ofDriving I did look into the shoulder and Merge too. I’ve been practice driving for almost 3 months just to make it perfect whats my mistakes but she didn’t even hesitated to failed me even she can see that I did all the things she wrote me in my paper. And the way she talked back too I know that English is just my 3rd language but I approached and talk to her nicely and respectfully. Never again to go there if you want just visit Santa Rosa or anywhere else.

I went in around 2:45pm on Wednesday August 23rd to get my first ever ID. I have adhd and severe anxiety, so i was most definitely shaken. I wanted to go earlier because I heard it would be faster, I seriously was just so anxious early in the morning about going and had waited last minute to go during what google says is the busiest hour. The older gentleman at the front desk welcomed me kindly, said a business friendly joke which eased my anxiety definitely. Threw me off a bit, definitely not what i expected from all the dmv moan and groan from my family. All the other staff working that shift were also very patient and kind with me. Thanks dmv Petaluma! ?

First, i’d like to say i’ve been driving with a permit for 2 years just due to schooling and being too busy to take the tests. but i’m pretty experienced from those two years.About the Staff in the office;front older check in lady, very very rude/disrespectful. she’s been rude both times i went there. and the second time she was worse.the lady in “lane one” who’s ms. dolled up. is super rude and lazy too. she literally was so lazy over me using cash instead of card to pay.the driving instructors, both are definite karen’s. probably the worse people i’ve ever met.About the Tests;I went here twice for a test.they failed me both times. first time was over me not breaking my neck enough for the bike lane. when i did for sure look. (also you need three or more points to not pass. read the signature line)second time was over me going 20 in a construction zone. 25 is the speed limit for construction.then she got upset over me going 31 in a 40 zone cause i was still accelerating to 40. i didn’t get up to this speed on time due to her wanting me to make a turn right away and sporadically change lanes. and apparently she wanted me to be racing around.apparently they also invented “left lane bike lanes” on the right side of the road. i really don’t know where she even got that from. there’s no such thing as that.anyways, horrible experience. someone NEEDS to fire these people or say bye bye to the petaluma DMV cause i know i’m not the only one having issues with these Karens here.

Still as terrible as ever. The promise of their online tools expansion results is massive disappointment once onsite. Uploading documentation ahead of time is meaningless. They still ask you for printed proof. Also in paperless world you need to allow for digital proof.

New CA resident. I have a Real DL/ID from Illinois, but CA DMV requires certified birth certificate, marriage license, divorce decree -- all dating back decades. It took months to get all this mailed from IL. Meanwhile, I'm incurring late fees. Not cool. ?

Worst place ever. If you’re going to be handing out tablets at the appointment/check in line, you should probably have an employee that isn’t 60+ year old that has no idea how to operate the technology doing the job.She was snappy, short, and rude. Tried to make us feel stupid for asking a question. “Let me repeat what I just said to you!” Rude A$$ Bword. Was taking my son in to get his first ID. Ruined his whole experience being a j*** to us. Waited an hour even with an appointment. I don’t know how this place has a 4 star review! I’ll go to Novato next time.
