Chelsea Antiques is a speciality antique shop located in downtown Petaluma on Petaluma Boulevard North. As a small business who only deals with independent sellers this store ranges in items from furniture, art work, jewelry, and even unique artifacts. They have a purpose of keeping their shop away from being dull and predictable. When I had visited this store it was a respectable, older couple behind the counter. I really enjoyed how the shop was museum like. You can both indulge in looking at the items as well as buying them depending on your needs and budget boundaries. There were multiple rooms and different hallways. There was a second story floor as well. Overall I really liked the fascinating pieces this store has. There were narrow hallways so just make sure to be careful when walking around. Being careful in general is ideal in here as there are many one of a kind, fragile antiques. This shop is also wheelchair accessible. To the beautiful community of Sonoma county and visitors abroad I would advise you to check out this captivating and eccentric antique shop!

I was in the area and my adult son was with me and we stopped by here just to look but we will be back. They had very high quality antiques (solid chestnut and cherry) for very reasonable prices, there was a cherry counter height table for less than 1/2 of quotes I have seen elsewhere, we are creating a small in-law unit that I would have loved to have purchased it for but I don't have any storage so have to wait a few months but will be back when I am ready and am certain I will purchase a few items from them. The staff were super friendly.

Dangerous, it is one dangerous place! It is hard to leave without getting something and it can be not only a maternal gain. There are lanterns, signs, furniture, paintings etc, etc. it is one of my favorite antique stores.

They have really interesting finds, and frankly, I thought the pricing wasn't too bad. I meandered for at least 15 minutes up and down and throughout. But ultimately I will echo many other reviewers...absolutely no interaction from the two gentleman. A begrudging hello after I greeted them, and then many times of passing by them with no further eye contact or asking me if I would like further help. While upstairs there were some really interesting items I wanted to query further about, but I just couldn't bring myself to do so, given the chilly reception. I don't take it personally, but it definitely likely quelled a purchase and any future return visit. Ah well...went across the street where the reception was entirely different and found fantastic things to bring home with me.

OWNER, PAT SCREAMED AT ME TO "GET OUT OF HIS STORE" multiple times. Outrageous! I am a 30 year client, a senior female citizen, and a collector of fine antiques. I bought an antique bed from the shop. The bed fell apart, was missing parts, needed a custom mattress. Dealer description never included all of the "as is" commentary. I ended up taking the bed back. Owner defended the new dealer, never acknowledged my concerns, never acknowledged my loyalty over the years to his shop, screamed at me in his shop to, "GET OUT" when I was trying to explain my position...and, what was my crime? Ladies and others be careful with dealing with Pat, who has a temper that is out of control. *To be noted, I paid a finish carpenter an extra $200 to try and renovate the bed only to find out then that a custom made mattress was needed.

Handmade tables by one of our Sonoma county locals. Beautiful furniture and comfy too.

Selection is good but rude when asking basic questions.

We went in to Chelsea Antiques to take a look around and not only ended up purchasing a one-of-a-kind "mechanical" writing desk and a lamp, but also putting a dining table and chairs on layaway. We were amazed by the shop's unique (and curated) collection of antiques and collectibles -- as well as the great prices that make those same items hard to resist. (To be honest, I'm almost afraid to go back to pick up our layaway items, because that means there's a very good likelihood that I will find "new" old stuff that I can't resist....) This is definitely one of the best antique stores I've ever been in and would highly recommend it if you are looking for something special and unique!

Best antique store in Sonoma. Nearly every item in the photo came from Chelsea's. Service is excellent, including delivery. They will negotiate if you are reasonable and pleasant. Saw the other comments about service; A friendly hello upon entry goes a long way.

People of color need to watch out for this place - avoid it like the plague. Owners will make you feel very uncomfortable. They will glare at you like you don't belong. Save your money for other boutiques that'll treat you with the dignity and respect.
