UNSANITARY!! First, prices have skyrocketed. There was a bare belly making my sandwich. Then it was wrapped so the food was exposed. So the second bare belly cashier and her helper were touching my a tualy sandwhich as it moved across the counter and ultimately picked up to be put in a (clean/sanitary??) bag. Been going here for many years. Sad the quality of service has gone down while prices have gone up.

I went for their artichoke garlic herb bread that everyone raves about and I was so disappointed. My bread was mostly hollow! It was basically crust lined with artichokes with just the tiniest bit of actual bread inside. I emailed the bakery with a photo hoping they would say it was an anomaly and maybe offer a replacement but I didn't hear back. As for the rest of the shop, the shelves were about 75% branded sauces. You know the kind, they all have custom labels for the shop but they're really just purchased from a large company that does custom private labels on their mass produced items. There were some pastries and pies that looked nice and might have been made in house but I won't be returning to try them.

The garlic artichoke bread is pretty great. The amount of garlic flavoring on the outside can vary greatly, but it's still good even when it's more artichoke bread. Most of the store is expensive boutique style snack and treats for people from over the hill vs a proper grocery store.

I love this little street and hidden gem on the coast. I come here for their famous, fresh, delicious artichoke garlic bread. This bread has not skimped on the artichoke or quality in flavor in the many years that I keep coming back. It is always worth the drive.

Hands down one of the best sandwiches in the Bay Area. The bread is unbeatable and you can tell people love it by the number of people sitting in the back garden chewing away their sandwiches. I got the godfather which came with so much meat, it was so filling and I only ate half! We also got one of their huge double chocolate chip cookies, one of the biggest cookies I've seen, and it was bomb. Highly recommend if you're ever passing by pescadero and want a quick bite!!

The only place where you can get artichoke garlic bread. So delicious! My son was asking for artichoke garlic bread so we had to drive down to grab some for him. During this time they only have the half baked option only and no fresh baked ones in the store. The store had a guy outside the front doors providing guidance if needed. They have stickers on floors to show where people should stand so people are following the 6 ft rule. I felt safe going in, everyone was wearing a mask, customers and workers. The only thing was they were low on some items like their vinaigrette and dipping sauce

This was a cute, quaint little store that sells great sandwiches and more. However, I don't understand the hype over the artichoke bread. Neither did my husband who loves artichokes. The bread was good and fresh, but nothing to write home about- my opinion. But if you're in town, for sure a great little spot for lunch.

If you don't know this place, you have to try it. Home of the delicious Artichoke garlic bread. They bring them out about every 10 minutes and they don't last very long on the shelf especially on weekends. They also have a half-baked version so you can take it home and put it in your oven for about 10 minutes and you have fresh baked artichoke garlic bread! There are also picnic benches outside in the back of the store so you can buy some of their delicious sandwiches from their deli, get some of their wine, (there's a great selection of local wines) or just enjoy the artichoke bread.

Quick service, great sandwich. Be warned that sometimes it’s not quite to order, but never a bad sandwich regardless. Costs about $15 each. This is the spicy cheddar and the chicken pesto

Cool little store that has a little bit of everything. A good deli, small grocery store with all the essentials. Don't miss the artichoke, Sounds weird but delicious. Small area outback with picnic tables to eat on a nice day.

Looking for a place to grab a bite after a pleasant drive down the Coast? Arcangeli Grocery is an excellent roadside stop just off Highway 1 in the town of Pescadero. This little grocery is best known by locals for their Famous Artichoke Herb Bread served straight and hot from the oven! This well equipped grocery/deli/bakery also serves up handcrafted sandwiches, bespoke sauces, soft drinks, fresh fruits, veggies, a nice wine section and much more to replenish yourself and your passengers on your weekend road trip. Grab your goodies and queue up in the line to pay up at the front counter. Up there, you will find friendly clerks and the bakery crew every few minutes reloading the basket with freshly baked Artichoke Herb Bread straight from the oven. There are other varieties of bread and pastries here too, but like us, people seek this place out for the Artichoke Herb Bread. Not that hungry yet? There is a half-baked version that you can take home to bake later too! Pro Tip: Where to eat?? There's a nice garden-like picnic area behind the store with classic wooden picnic tables on the lawn and bathrooms too out back. Look for the flower cart, and head down the paved driveway to the picnic area. If you are not heading off to the beach or parks, enjoy your meal here in full relaxed mode! Any way you spin it, this is a pleasant place to take a break, replenish the tummy, walk around and refresh!
