The service and competence of Penn Valley's branch of Quest Diagnostics remain excellent. However, the change from super-convenient "walk-in", no appointment needed to the requirement for a complicated (at least for me) process to schedule an appointment has changed the experience from a positive one to a negative one. From now on I will be making the drive up to the hospital for their convenient consumer friendly "walk-in" service.

Easy to find with parking right out front. Clean facility with the easy check in kiosk.

My first visit to this lab was a fantastic experience. An easy appointment process online, and when I got there all my info was there, and I was in and out of the lab in 5 minutes. The staff was.very friendly.

I've been dealing with our local Quest facility here since they bought out the previous owner. The 1st couple of years their service was great. And then things started slipping. I can usually tolerate most incompetence but today took the cake. Yesterday I made an appointment online for 10:50 AM. I had a lot of problems with their website's appointment page. It took me over 30 minutes of frustrating time to get this appointment made but I got it. When I arrived today at 10:45, 5 minutes before my appointment time the person who I guess they pay to be there, immediatly informed me she had no appointments and in 10 minutes she was going on break. I said I had made it and she informed me I hadn't. she was very pushy about the fact I had made it at another facility. I then said well you don't have any other appointment here anyway and it is 10:50 so why can't you do it. Nope. So them I asked if I could come back this afternoon as a walk in as I had done previously and she said she didn't recommend it as she could only take me if some one cancelled. She was very specific that she was not going to do anything to help me no matter what. Some people are born polite, helpful and appreciated and then there are ones like this one. Since Quest bought this facility they have no competition in this area and so can treat customers very poorly and there's nothing anyone can do. This needs to be looked in to

This tiny lab is a one-person operation, which could cause complications, BUT my experience with Jennifer was exemplary. She was very thorough rechecking doctors orders and very patient with my recalcitrant veins. She was not rushed, and took a minute to explain to the next patient waiting. A very pisitive experience! Of course, having an appointment is smart.

Horrible. Do not recommend. * No one at the front desk for over 10 minutes. * Patients walked out due to excessive wait. * Understaffed * By appointment only.

Quest Diagnostic has been great since they took over a few years ago. However, without telling anyone or stating it on website, they now do blood work on an appointment basis only. Their rating now is at the bottom of the list as when I went to what I thought was a walk in, I had to listen to why I had to make an appointment and there was a 2 week waiting list. In the length of time it took this less than energetic person explaining all this, she could have done my paper work and blood tests and I'd have what i needed. We need a blood lab in area who cares about customers

I likely won't be using Quest anymore, when I have any other option!! Their customer service level has dropped entirely from previous. My comments are almost identical to those of the gentleman named Hayes, posted a week ago.I arrived at 6: 50 am this week (Oct 5, 2021) to get a blood draw ordered by Sierra Hospital. An indignant and disrespectful female was behind the desk. She was the only person in the building, and there no one in the waiting area. She informed me that I needed to make an appointment, and could not just walk-in any longer. Ironically I had attempted to make an appointment the night before, checking the website for available times. The website indicated there were no available appointments at any of the Quest G.V. locations. She curtly told me the earliest available appoint was weeks away. I asked why with an empty waiting room, she could not fit me in. She simply repeated her previous message, that they were only taking appointments, and she again pointed to a sign on her desk, to reinforce the policy. In the past that location was run by Steve, a caring and efficient man.Quest should get him back and have him running the operation. Also perhaps a policy change would be in order!

Needed labs to Dr by 12/2 and first appt was 12/2, so web site said there was just a10 minute wait for walkins at 2pm, so I went in. Nobody waiting, but employee said he couldn't help me because I didn't have an appointment. I was there for 15 minutes while we went over the tests that were ordered and still nobody came in. He suggested I drive to Roseville as they take walking. Fix your web site if you don't take walking after 7:30 AM!
