“Amazing event space for the Monterey County Boy & Girls Club - Comics for Kids event. A first rate event. The food was amazing. Braised short ribs were freaking amazing. I really enjoyed the pre=reception area with complementary wine and light appetizers, that include a meat and cheese display and also an ahi-tuna bit that was excellent as well. A wonderful event space for any organization and/or corporate event to showcase their company.”

“this "hotel", which both is and isn't is of that rare breed of lodging that makes one feel at home. literally.if you have ever had the occasion and opportunity to be a guest in a better home, The Lodge at Pebble Beach will remind you of that kind of experience.every interaction with staff gave one the feeling they were being attended to by an old family equerry. there was nothing corporate about the experience. at no time did i feel i was being subjected to some "standard operating procedure" or employee's manual.the rooms, even the modest ones, are palatial, for what they are. high ceiling and sprawling floorspace make for an en-suite guestroom in a mansion, sort of vibe.room service. the food arrived hot, even though the kitchen was a few hundred yards away and it was raining, cold and windy.the concierge. a more affable exchange can not be had.the bar. i asked that the bartender prepare an obnoxiously off-the-menu cocktail and he did it, without thinking about it. without hesitation. and not with any complaining or exasperated vibe, either.the people at the front desk kind of put you in the mind of a fuzzy episode of the TV Series "Hotel" in the way they tendered the keenest and intentional care to every word that comes from your mouth.at every turn i was confronted with nicety, service, and warmth.i'll be back.thank you, Lodge!”

“This was truly the most delightful experience. From the moment we arrived the staff were incredible. It was story book service from the classic age of American hotels. Valets and bellhops that met you with enthusiasm, a front desk that made you feel welcome and at home, and rooms that felt comfortable and palatial at the same time. The view of the bay was unbeatable, and the hotel provided binoculars enhanced ever sea otter and aviary delight. The hotel Dining was tremendous, but nothing could beat the lounge/ great room. Sitting with other guests, sipping on wine and listening to live piano while looking out over the ocean…I felt transported.I have no doubt that hundreds of hotel staff scurried in the background of every experience to make it seemless and wonderful for us.My thanks to all at the Monterey Plaza Hotel for the most perfect wedding anniversary we have had in 24 years of marriage.”

“Tradewinds is in the perfect place to walk to everything in downtown Carmel-By-The-Sea. The staff is super helpful and tries to help with anything you need. The only reason for the 4-stars is that the rooms can get warm without AC.

Nearby activities: Easy walk to shopping & dining.”

“mini trips to Carmel are a regular occurance for us. this time around, we decided to try out a new place to stay. Bernardus Lodge/Spa was highly recommended & we certainly see why... if only we could've enjoyed a few more nights! we were treated with care long before our initial arrival. Tammy was exceedingly helpful & assisted with our booking via phone. she was able to work magic with our room & we seriously cannot thank her enough! from decor to finishes, i was blown away by the elegance of our room upon entering our suite. a bowl of fruit & macaroons along with a personalized letter awaited us by the entryway. the mountain views from our suite's living room were spectacular, especially during foggy mornings. we had 2 fireplaces & utilized both for cozy evenings. the lack of wifi connection/cell repection in our suite was truthfully the only downside we experienced. the suite came with a dog bed, bowls, complimentary dog treats & provided more than enough room for 2 large dogs to play. the lodge overall is super dog friendly. poop bag/trash stations are situated across the property & a small area of turf labeled "Designated Dog Area" located near valet. we dined at the lodge's restaurant, Lucia, for a breakfast & lunch. Yoshi & Julio were just 2 of the helpful servers we had. the breakfast french toast & chicken sausage were delicious. the chicken sandwich was moist & hefty enough to split. however, the crabcake took the show for us as we ordered it 3 times during our stay! shout-out to Colleen in dining for accomodating us with last minute room service before check-out! the fun-loving Edwin, bell/valet, greeted us with jokes & a contagious smile each time we saw him. he made us feel special & our experience truly would not have been the same without him! Alan is another valet who was awesome as well. you gotta ask them about the Bernardus x Mercedes Benz partnership - as guests of the resort, we were able to borrow & drive 3 different makes for 4 hours at a time during our stay. we coasted through 17 Mile Drive in the Bernardus-branded S class, rode to our Chart House dinner reservation in the EQS 580, & cruised highway 1 in the drop top! we will surely be returning, thank you Bernardus!”

“Very bad service from the receptionist, I wanted to play golf at the Pebble Beach course and she told me that they couldn't go outside, and if you can, I had to make the reservation myself, the breakfast was very bad, they took my raw omelette and he never came back, I went without breakfast.”

“This was the ideal vacation for relaxation while traveling with a toddler (I know, hear me out.) First, the hilltop suite offered plenty of room for us all. 800 square feet with lots of space for our daughter to play with her toys and move around. The spacious king bed was extraordinarily comfortable (may be the most comfortable bed we have ever experienced) and we loved the large bathroom with a shallow but large tub for our toddler who loves a bath. My husband and I treated ourselves to outdoor baths daily with the large soaking tub on the patio. The views… It was perfect. At check in, they offered us a diaper genie and a microwave to be delivered to our room. This was a gamechanger and so very thoughtful. They also provided baby shampoo, lotion and wash as well as a thoughtful gift for our toddler. Above and beyond. Our room was serviced daily and we were very impressed with the room service. So much attention to detail. You never had to ask for more towels, more soap, etc. The best cup of coffee we had all week was at the lodge. Dont even bother venturing out into carmel for better coffee, you dont need to. We looked forward to our daily routine of walking the beautiful grounds to the lodge to get a great cup of coffee and breakfast. The pool area and hot tubs were beautiful and my husband and I enjoyed making smores by the fire pits in the evening. All of the little touches made this trip so memorable and worthwhile. We traveled often before having a child and now we are always seeking the perfect kind of vacation that works for us all. Here, we found it. Thank you, Carmel Valley Ranch for providing top notch service and accomodations. We relaxed, we adventured, and we truly felt the bliss of vacation during our stay. We will be back!”

“Undoubtedly a gem in Monterey. My wife and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary at this Inn, and we had a wonderful time. The Garden Cottage room was very comfortable and romantic. You will feel very relaxed as you walk through the beautiful and peaceful gardens and enjoy the relaxing aromas lingering in the air from the abundant flowers. Breakfast was served at 9 am, and of course, it was very delicious. The General Manager, Wendy, was attentive to our needs and made us feel comfortable. She made our stay pleasant and, without a doubt, gave us the desire to return.”

“Probably the most beautiful hotel I’ve stayed at. Everyone from the valet to food delivery staff was polite and welcoming and went out of their way to ensure I had a good stay. I had a corner room on the 2nd floor with unobstructed views of the bay and beach below. The perfect setting to eat breakfast every morning and a seat by the window to read before bed with the fireplace on. I could have honestly spent my entire stay in the window seat. Prime location with everything you need to see in Monterey in walking distance. Wine and cheese from 4-6pm and complimentary breakfast delivered to your room. My only bit of criticism was timing of breakfast delivery. It was 20 minutes later my first day and within the window the second day. I’d err on the side of ordering for delivery a little earlier than you’d like it. I’d absolutely stay here again and wish my stay had been longer.”

“Things I like about this place:
1. The reception staff was very very friendly and accommodating.
2. The hotel parking and lobby was very easy to find.
3. The room and toilet were exceptionally clean.
4. The hotel is just a short walk away from Cannary Row.
5. The seagulls were very friendly too.

Some downsides are:
1. Breakfast is not included. But there is an amazing cafe called The Wave Street Cafe right across the street.
2. It's pretty expensive, and parking requires an additional surcharge of 17 USD + tax.
3. The parking spot is pretty small, so it's best to drive a smaller car.”

“Monterey Bay Inn is absolutely stunning. I stayed there on my way to a conference and was blown away by the beauty of the place. The wildlife is incredible—sea otters playing, seals lounging, and pelicans flying around. Watching the sunrise over the bay was the highlight of my trip. I’m from West Tennessee, and this was a nice change of scenery. I can't wait to come back!”

“Simply incredible. The rooms are very comfortable and spacy and the quality of materials and ammenities is high. Also there are complimentary items that come with your stay like branded bottles, snacks, etc. All in the room as you arrive. The service is also very good but and you feel like really in a small village sorounded by reception of local people. The rooms are very clean and shower abd bathroom overall is great. The place is perfect for romantic stays to enjoy in couple. The special highlight goes for the breakfast served at the room. This makes the experience above average. I strongly recommend and would come back. Price is high as anything around Carmel. Worth it.”

“The room was super comfortable, spacious and clean. Well located, easy to get to and a few blocks from the supermarket to buy food. The room had a microwave and coffee maker, with complimentary coffee. The only poor thing was the breakfast. But it's forgiven, because the service in general was very good”

“* Stayed in the Norma Jean Honeymoon suite. It may not be for everyone but it was a great experience for us. The building is old and that can be seen but it’s also unique and different than other hotels we’ve stayed at. The staff are very helpful and very friendly. I can’t say enough positive things about the free breakfast included! The Pancakes are amazing! While the weather closed the restaurant/roof top bar, having access to the beautiful view 24hrs a day was a treat. Elevator wasn’t working but that added to the charm and the exercise didn’t hurt. Again, it’s a very old building but that’s part of why we chose it! We will definitely stay again!Nearby activities: Walkable to the beach and fishermen’s wharf. Quick drive to cannery row.Food & drinks: Restaurant/ bar onsite. Free breakfast was amazing!Noteworthy details: Unique vintage features and boutique style rooms.”

“We were traveling from CA to WA and we stayed there. It was great!! Room was clean, bathrooms as well. My favorite part, the pressure of the water was incredible, giving you a massage after a long time driving…

They also offered coffee & hot coco in AM and PM.

Service was great too!

Perfect place to stay when traveling!

Rooms: Clean, comfy and spacious.

Noteworthy details: Amazing water pressure.”

“I don't usually review hotels, but I had such a terrible experience at a hotel in Marina, California that we refused to stay there even after we paid. As such we rebooked here at the Victoria Inn. What a great experience. The rooms were simple but clean, and comfortable and met our needs as a family. The location was excellent, close by, and just a simple walk to all the main attractions. However, the real clincher was the included breakfast. It was fantastic! They had these amazingly fresh, warm, ham and cheese croissants that were simply divine! I don't know if that is a staple for breakfast but they had them every day we were there. A really great little hotel. Well worth stopping in for a night.”

“I would love to return in cooler weather and use the fireplace.

We were there in June and had great weather in the 60s. We felt safe to take long walks in the neighborhood and along the beach.

Rooms: Gorgeous location. Very comfortable two bedroom suite with a full kitchen.

Nearby activities: Thank you to Amy for great advice on what to do in the area. Being between Carmel by the Sea and Monterey, we were able to stay at a quiet location and easily drive to fantastic places

Safety: Very safe friendly location.

Walkability: It is a short walk to the beach.”

“Location, location, location. Best one in Monterey. First, we were welcomed charcuterie fruits, cheese, chocolate and champagne! The hotel is walking distance to everywhere and we never took our car out. We took Lyft once to a restaurant that was 6 miles away. First night we had a few drinks at the bar. Service was great from Ricky. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet in the morning open at 6:30-11 am. We wanted local coffee and simply walked 1/2 a block. The Wells Fargo Bank was also right there the next block. Staff are super friendly and we had a nice corner room with a view of the Marina thanks to Irma. The hotel is due to for a remodel as the bathroom were a little older. The room decor was simple and beds were comfortable. I did love the cotton light robes and slippers they provide and oversized bath towels. Thank you for a great stay!”

“Parking in front, off the busy main road, lots of food options and a Trader Joe's within walking distance. Driving distance, within 10 mins, of the Monterey Bay Aquarium, the Denise the Menace playground park, and plenty of beaches. The rooms themselves were clean, fresh, with comfortable beds and bathroom.”

“Ok. It's old. We've grown old with it, as have our kids and grandchild. There's no fridge. There's an ice machine. Bring an ice chest. Use the $100's you'll save on some ice. Out of 30 yrs, I've been warm once in the room. They've given us a space heater before the heaters were lit. You get where I'm going. Stay and enjoy the views, the access to walk across the street and be on trails for hours, free parking without tipping for valet every time you want your car....it's not the Plaza or a spa retreat and they've never failed to tell you that when you book. Yep, it can be noisy too...between the crashing waves and best sleep of your life, if you've played hard enough. Please don't ruin it for the rest of us. Book elsewhere because the people who work here are kind, care and the maids work hard with what they have. I hope they keep the place up, keeping it clean, comfortable, low key and affordable.”

“Easy access off of route 1. Not far from the aquarium and only 45 minutes from Big Sur. Indoor pool. Rooms were clean and comfortable and met price point expectations. I would stay again.

Food & drinks: Food options right across the street including the Monterey Cookhouse which was tasty and Dennys.”

“Absolutely LOVED our stay at CVR. We had the pleasure of staying for 4 nights and it gave us the opportunity to truly enjoy what the ranch had to offer. We were checked in by Jocelyn who did an amazing job at explaining everything to us about our stay and even gave us each a welcome glass of Prosecco. Our room was gorgeous, we had the suite with the tub on the deck. It is such a vibe. Highly recommend that suite. The room could have been cleaner as we did notice a lot of build up in the shower but overall it was fairly clean.I loved that there is SO much to do. You literally never have to leave the ranch. They have hikes, fitness classes, golf, so many animals to go look at in their stables, an amazing spa, pool/hot tub with a view and much more. They have shuttles to take you to and from wherever you want to go on the ranch. Oh and complimentary apples in the morning and s'mores every night to roast by the fire pits. I liked that there is an adults only pool and hot tub. The ranch is verrrry family and pet friendly but it was nice to have some peace and quiet in that area. 1000/10 for the SPA. My fiancé and I got a couples massage with a scalp massage and it was the best massage we've ever had. They gave us a complimentary cupcake and glass of champagne afterwards since it was my birthday. I would especially recommend this hotel for families and people that want to bring their fur babies with them. It was just me and my fiancé on this trip, but we still had a lot of fun exploring everything the ranch had to offer.”

“The Sea View is a true gem in Carmel (if you know, you know). We rented the inn for our wedding weekend and my husband and his groomsmen/significant others all stayed there. It was the absolute perfect setup and a highlight of the weekend for us! Amazing location as is walking distance to town and the beach. But it has so much charm, that you may just want to cuddle up by the fire and not even go outside! We’ll be back!!”
