Ok, we all have a mechanic we trust when at home. But in this case we are from out of town, now what do you do? After asking Paso locals, we decided to call Spring Street Auto. As I understand it this is a family owned and operated business. In talking with them (Friday morning) they were up front that they could work on, but might not be able to get all fixed by the time they closed (parts, other jobs, all played a part of not getting finished). In that case, it wouldn’t be until the next week before we could get truck back (closed on weekends). Note, we were leaving the next day to head back home. After talking to them I felt comfortable having vehicle towed over. Felt even more comfortable in the case the truck would need to be stored until I could get back to Paso. Upon meeting them in person (the daughter receptionist, her husband the mechanic, dad wasn’t around). I really felt they would do all they could to get us handled.
At about 15 minutes before they closed, they called and said truck is ready. We hustled over and picked up the truck. I felt they went above and beyond, giving me great service by under committing and over delivering. Based on searches of cost for a repair like this, they were right on the average cost. Really pleased with the service. My experience gives them 5 stars!!

My college son (and his dog) was stranded with an overheated radiator one was from SF to LA and had to spend a night to have his car checked out and Ron and team got him back on the road without drama or anything beyond what was needed. Thai was a trusted recommendation and they showed us why. Whew!

The person who we dealt with shall remain nameless- he was short, ugly , mean & his first name started with R.We had a minor problem that he refused to be reasonable and deal with. Absolutely a person who abuses authority... rude and ridiculous. Find another business ... This one does not deserve your patronage.

Do not use Spring Street Auto unless you like getting scammed.I took my car in for a smog check and after paying full price, was told it didn't pass because the idle RPM was too high (The car was idling around 700 RPM). It sounded odd at the time and when I started asking for more information I was told either get my car scheduled for repairs or get it out of the way.I took the same car to another mechanic the next day and explained what had happened. The new mechanic seemed confused by Spring Street Auto's explanation for failing my vehicles smog inspection but said we could try to test it again to see what happens. It passed with no issues.Take from that what you will, but it seems to me Spring Street Auto was dishonest and stole from me in an attempt to scam even more money out of me.Services: Auto emissions testing
