I highly recommend Whitmore Rare books. For the owner (Dan Whitmore), finding Rare books is a passion. He travels the country looking for first editions and rare finds that are truly outstanding. Whether it's Dickens or Darwin, Dan has an incredible selection of first editions, each chosen with care to offer the collector something unusual or unique. I love this shop!

Great place to find old books or books about Los Angeles and its history. I believe it's the oldest bookstore in CA, but I could be wrong. Fun place to browse for a while. When you're done browsing, buy something and keep this place in business!
