Unfortunately decided to patronize a local business and the owner took me for a fool. Brought in my 7 month old $100 vacuum and got a quote for $30 for an electrical switch. Was told the vacuum would be done within a week. The owner called after 2 weeks saying it was ready for pick up. When I got there w/ my $30 in hand. I was told that he HAD to put a new belt on it because the old one had a streak in it and it would be an additional $25. I told the owner, I should have been called before any additional work was done and that I wouldn't have paid $55 for service on a vacuum I only paid $100 for. Instead of apologizing for adding services I did not request and charging me almost double what I was quoted. I was offered getting the old belt put back on. Well after waiting an additional week and not having expected the additional charges, waiting another 2 weeks for a basic vacuum was not an option. I would not be surprised if the owner was doing this to multiple people. My vacuum was only 7 months old w/ very light usage. It was working on the day I used it w/ the exception of the power switch not turning it on. Not to mention, I just used the vacuum since my "repairs" and it has a high squeal that it didn't before. Buyer Beware.

The store owner changed the belt on my Kirby vacuum cleaner in a few minutes during the week. Only charged $15 for part and labor. Now this is the type of service that I remember from small businesses!

What a find! Went in with my Dyson vacuum canister that I dropped. He took one look at it and fixed it in minutes. I asked what the charge was and they said, "just a tip". $5.00 was suggested but I gave $10 and felt very happy!

Absolutely -- this little shop is an amazing find. Not only fixed my vacuum, but cleaned the thing up and made it work better than it has worked in a very long time! Highly recommended.

Tony's is a real repair shop, not just one that tells you your vacuum is kaput and you need to buy a new one. Very few of these shops around these days, and the owner is knowledgeable and helpful. I won't take my vacuum cleaner anywhere else.

He has been in business for 57 years at the same location. He also owns Penguin Formal Wear & Tuxedos next door. He and his wife decided to put both business together in one. The front half are vacuums, the other half are Tuxedos They are both separated. address for both places is 721 N. Los Robles Ave.

Old school shop said if it wasn't worth the cost to fix my vacuum he would let me know ended up being $35 and showed me how to clean the filter. I always try to support local business right around the corner.

Tony is the nicest guy you'll ever find in the business of vacuum repair. If you live in the area and your vacuum isn't what it used to be, you should count yourself as lucky.
