Finding a right hairdresser can be difficult especially in a new city, but I’m so grateful I found Take san. He is knowledgeable and skilled with years of experience. He quickly understood what I(indecisive myself) wanted and suggested the right hairstyle and hair color. I’m very satisfied with how my hair turned out. I am happy that my hair is smooth and healthy again.I absolutely recommend him!

Great for Asian hair! I have a lot of curly-ish Asian hair and Takashi did a wonderful job balancing out my layers since my previous hairstylist didn't know what she was doing. He is super swift and has a loyalty system for returning customers. Also there's a small discount if you pay in Venmo or cash.

I'm so so so glad I found TK Hair Studio! I moved from NYC earlier this year and of course needed to find new professionals for everything. I came here for a cut in August after much research (~40 hair salons Yelp & Google reviews) because I desperately needed my hair thinned out and trimmed. I've been scarred with how people can mess it up by overthinning my hair so I made sure to look at tons of photos and read reviews of places. Asian hair can be difficult to cut so I'm really picky. He is meticulous and very detailed when he was thinning my hair and trimmed it well, not too blunt or shaggy at the bottom. I am extremely particular with my hair, but I was really happy with it! I also give it a couple washes to see how I feel about it before deciding whether I'd go back or not. I'd definitely return! Also, my hairstylist in NYC who colored my hair when I visited last month said it was cut well too. If you don't believe me, believe in other hair professionals who know their stuff! Pay in cash & get a discount, tip well! There's also a punch card for returning clients which is nice. I live out in West LA but was thinking about how I probably need a cut soon and need to drive out here to come to TK! There is parking validation for the parking structure to the left right after you pass the location. Once you get to the location, you dial his suite number on the keypad to the right by looking up TK Hair Studio to get buzzed in. Lastly, there are restrooms, and there is a machine at the front to validate parking. These are individual salon suites, everything is very clean. I have thick Asian hair and I have a lot of it. Take knew how to thin it down and cut layers to create a nice shape. I enjoyed both the process of the cut (gentle, friendly, efficient) as well as the results, so I will be back. Also, this is the least itchy I've been after a haircut, which speaks to Take's top notch technique.

I have curly/wavy hair, and he gave me the perfect bob with bangs. I loved my experience here. Feel so fortunate I chose him to cut my hair! He patiently helped me figure out what I want - how much to cut and if I wanted layers or not. Was friendly and professional - worked quickly, efficiently, and effectively, giving me the most beautiful haircut I've had in years. In fact, it's my favorite haircut of my whole life. A store manager of a local store even gave me his number the other day because he said he loved my hair. Kinda creepy but ... anyway, go get your hair cut here if you want to look and feel great. I sure do. Thank you Take, I know I've found my hairstylist here in Pasadena. <3

I had NO problem scheduling an appt. Parking was super easy, and it's a great location. The environment is private, and chill-- not loud and you don't have to listen to lots of people talking or loud music. As for my cut, I'm really picky. He listened. He heard. He did an excellent job! I can't sing enough praise to Take! He is the best in town, especially if you are Asian, he really knows how to deal with the special hair texture we have. I recommend you always bring some pictures for reference. Take san can make great modifications that fit your face shape and hair texture. His price is also very reasonable, and he never tries to upsell. I have had my hair cut in high end salons in Tokyo many times, and I can say Take san is even better than those posh Tokyo stylists. 10 stars :))
