I Went on Monday to the Pasadena Staples to pick up some office supplies-an easel pad I found online for $65.09 for a 2 pack. They had the same item in singles. I asked the young lady in the isle if they would price match the two items for the same price as the two-pack. She said "yes" instructed me to show the cashier the online price and they would match it. The item online is the same exact item I intended to buy along with some other supplies. That's when I met Josh and an idiot by the name of Richard who proceeded to tell me that they are not the same item and that they could not honor the online price. Richard, who simply lacks all forms of basic customer service etiquette proceeded to tell me that he was the store manager upon my request for the manager. Josh and Richard dug their feet in and would not honor what I showed them to be the same item listed. I ended up purchasing the two items and paid $49.95 for each of them. It was late, I had a long day at the office and needed the items for my morning meeting and relented by purchasing them as individual items. These two guys-Josh and Richard are absurd individuals who should be ashamed of themselves to say the least and we're unprofessional, lacking common sense and heavy on being rude. No wonder this piece is dung of a location has such a low YELP review/stars! The actual manager and their regional managers should be ashamed of themselves. I will never go back to this store nor to any other Staples store. I instructed my Comptroller to switch companies today and will take our business elsewhere.

Subject: Complaint Regarding Unprofessional Conduct at East Pasadena Staples Dear Staples Customer Service, I am writing to express my deep concerns about an unsettling experience my wife and I recently encountered at your East Pasadena store near Rosemead and Colorado. The incident involved an employee named Russel, and I feel compelled to bring this matter to your attention. Upon entering the store, we politely asked an associate at the cashier if we could use the restroom, and there were no signs posted or indicating it was out of order. However, when we approached the restroom, we crossed path with another employee Russel whom informed us that it was out of order. Strangely, there was no indication of this, and there was a Crowd Guidance System located just before the path to the restroom which was not in used at all. We decided to go about our shopping, feeling uncomfortable due to Russel's gaze, as if we were being suspected of theft, despite being there to make purchases that was a few hundred dollars. As we proceeded to the cashier, Russel's behavior continued to be concerning. He seemed to scrutinize us while inspecting our hands and scrutinizing our identification when Russel requested for it, creating an atmosphere of profiling, discriminative and discomfort. When I asked for his name, he identified himself as Russel but claimed not to have his ID badge when I asked why don't you have one on, which is unacceptable since he was not wearing the staples polo uniform, particularly considering the nature of Staples business. This incident left us feeling profiled, discriminated against, and overall uncomfortable. Such behavior contradicts the values of customer service and respect for patrons. Customers should not be subjected to unwarranted scrutiny, especially when there is no reasonable cause for suspicion. I urge you to conduct a thorough investigation into this matter and take appropriate actions to address Russel's conduct. If he is a manager as some of the associates states, I would highly recommend to have him removed as a manager, Customer trust and satisfaction are paramount, and incidents like these can significantly impact your brand reputation as this store has been shown slow customer traffic the last few years that we been coming here. Thank you for your prompt attention to this issue. I hope for a resolution that ensures a more positive and respectful experience for all customers.

Deceptive pricing for printing services

I had recently bought some Indian kurtas for a future Diwali celebration. From the 8 different sets, only 3 fitted me well. Hence, I had to return the rest to Amazon. Well, Staples is now the place to drop off Amazon returns for free. I drove to this Staples on my way home from work to take care of the returns. I walked in and started looking for signs to the Amazon drop off area. Luckily, it was to my right all the way in the corner... you'll have to walk past all the printers. There was no one at the counter at the time, but I saw 3 people standing in the back area. I waited about a few minutes before the lady finally walked over to me. Anyway, she had to scan each item separately and I got 3 separate receipts which was fine. However, I thought it would be easier to scan all three and then one receipt, but I guess Staples does things differently compared to other Amazon drop off spots. It was still easy and quick though! At this time, Staples is offering $10 of $30.00 purchase so 3 receipts, 3 discount offerings. Cool! Now I get to decide if there's anything I need to buy from Staples. I have been eyeing the eco meal containers so I walked around the store looking for them, but this store doesn't carry them. I got 25 days to find another store that has them and go buy LOL.

First off, returning Amazon items was simple at Staples as there is a dedicated person for this. No need to wait for a Staples person! They even gave a $10 coupon to be used at Staples. Steve as awesome at check out. I thought I could use my coupon but because I was buying ink cartridges it was not an option. However, since they price match competitors, it was found out I could get a lower price for the cartridges I was buying without the $10 coupon that I wanted to use. Not only was he helpful but courteous at that. Thank you for your assistance Steve. (:

Purchased a printer which turned out to be defective so I had to return it. Russell handled everything for me quickly and gracefully. Set me up with a new device and graciously accepted the return. Great guy and great service! Thanks Russell!

We sent in an order for a single poster print this morning,, was told it would be before 530, then it changed to 8, then after waiting on hold for over 20 minutes on the phone and being disconnected once, then calling again and waiting 10 minutes again, was told "We'll do our best!" when I asked if it would at least be today.I needed same day printing. If you can't stick by that promise, don't make that promise.Advice: Check online for some local print shops. We found one in 5 minutes, sent them the file and had it printed in 15 minutes for the same price as Staples.Choose local, I guess. Lesson learned.

Printing customer service is terrible. An employee named "Jasmine" only had answers of "I'm not sure." I asked for the manager and they took note of the problem and just left me holding on the phone. This place needs structure, management, and lacks professionalism. I won't be spending any more money with this location - TERRIBLE

Helpful staff in mostly empty store on a Saturday. Some items with locations and prices on shelves were out-of-stock. Other categories of items they have much more variety online, of course. Plenty of free parking in their lot. Cashier was efficient.

I simply ran in to print and to grab a few basics: erasers, lead for a pencil, facial tissues and to print a few docs. Super easy printing process and all items were in stock. Easy peasy!
